Raising Dwebble was vastly different than raising Moy. When Moy was born she was an excitable buuble, that was curious about everything. It took a couple of days for Moy to calm down, and even though she was still easily excitable, he had managed to infect her with his training ways.

Dwebble on the other hand, was almost the opposite. She wasn't really curious about anything and basically just sat there. At first he thought she was just introverted, but it seems she was much more just going with the flow.

When he had asked her to release her energy like he did with Moy all those years ago, she simply did so, no questions asked.

When he had finally asked her about a name she had simply replied, "Whatever you want father.", and left him to it. He gave her the name Meta, after the metamorphic rock that made up her shell. When she had replied, it was with a simple, "Thank you, father." It was certainly awkward, but it seemed she was at least up for training, as she would just follow his orders without complaint.

As Meta was still just a newborn she couldn't do much training, just the normal energy expelling Moy did at first, plus the very basics of physical exercise. He did still have her put on the gravity braclet he had gotten for her though. Even if he could barely increase it to 1.01X due to how she was just born. It may not seem worth it but it would mean she was always exercising.

Throughout the day she was born he was able to get a much better look at her physical changes. The most obvious of which were her claws that instead of being the normal neddle shape were instead much more like crabby's claws. This would certainly be helpfull in the future consideringbthe Dwebble evolution line's claws weren't really suitable for attacking, and instead more suitable for moving dirt and rock.

The claws weren't the only changes though. Meta's body also had an extra pair of legs. Because Dwebble usually used its two front stingers as feet, since they were now raised more in the air, it seemed Meta had an extra pair of legs in front of her first. He doesn't know how this will translate when she evolves, but he hopes that it will make her faster, something Meta will espically need, considering how heavy her rock will be.

These changes weren't all that strange and were in fact to be expected. As a pokemon's talent grew, it was more likely to have some type of mutation. Even Moy wasn't devoid of this. While Moy was still a Solosis she had the abilities regenerator, overcoat, and magic guard. Sadly overcoat was redundant with magic guard, as magic guard protected from all indirect attacks, but overcoat only weather and powder.

However, when Moy had evolved her overcoat ability had changed, becoming the ability competetive. This meant whenver Moy's status was lowered the purity of the energy in her body would temporarily raise, allowing her to effectivly do more damage.

Still it semmed Meta's changes were much more drastic than Moy's. Even if she was a little bit distant, he was glad that he didn't have to convince Meta to train like Moy. At first he had been planning to have her watch Moy and him battle Peter so she could see what her future strength could be, but it seemed that was no longer necessary.

He had also run some tests on her in the coming days and it seemed that some of her abilites were also different than the typical dwebble. The first of her abilities was the normal sturdy, although in this universe it didn't protect from one hit knockouts, but instead literally made the pokemon more sturdy allowing them to avoid being hit back by moves. This would be very usefull for the tank that Meta would turn out to be.

Her other abilities were tough claws and stamina. Tough claws again literally made her claws tougher and sharper. Normally not useful for a Crustle with their bad claws, but with Meta's it would certainly improve her low attack. Stamina again, gave her more stamina, but also meant on every physical hit Meta would gain a temporay boost to her strength. It seems Meta would be a real terror on the battlefield in the future.

It was that night that he got into bed with Moy snuggling into his side that he felt someone else get into bed with him. He heard a faint "Goodnight, father" and responded with a fellow goodnight. It seems that although he perceived Meta as distant it was more like she wasn't talkitive, but she had still latched onto him. It seemd he wouldn't have to try not to disapoint her in the future.

Of course Meta was able to stay in his room since he had turned off the enhanced gravity in it. He preferred it over the gravity braclet because it would sometimes chaffe his wrists, but now that Meta was in the room with him, he had to settle for keeping the room off and just always wearing the band.

The next few weeks were much the same as always, except with the added addition of guiding Meta through the basics of physical training. Although this universe was somehwat anime logic, it wasn't sufficent to the point where beating Meta's body with a stick would increase her defense. Something he was glad about considering he would fell horrible doing that.

In this time Moy and Meta had become friends, but that was mostly because Meta gave the chance for Moy to continuously talk at her without Meta getting annoyed. He found it cute, espically when Moy had taken to hovering over Meta's shell, as if she was sitting on it. He wouldn't be suprised that once Meta grew big enough Moy would sit on her. Meta may currently be small but she was still much bigger than the average newborn dwebble, and that was for a couple of reasons.

In this universe pokemon didn't really have a set height. Although, it wasn't a huge varity like how they could mutate in all different ways. Instead base height was dependent on the talent of a pokemon, and then how much bigger they grew in the future depended on their foundation. This could lead to some truly ginormous pokemon, like gyardos that were hundreds of feet long.

In fact size was one of the few ways to check a pokemon's talent, other than its learning speed and strength. Moy herself was already about 50% bigger than most dousion, at three feet herself, and she was only in the elite stage.

Crustle's evolution, Mantor, had been recorded growing up to have a twenty foot circumfrence, although he was sure Meta would get bigger than that with her training. As she grew he had her continue to add more and more rock to her shell so she would get used to moving with more.

When some pokemon held an item and also evolved with it, that item would change with them. Like Farfetch'd into Sirfetch'd. Farfetch'd's leek physically evolved when Farfetch'd evolved. Instead when dwebble evolved the rock on its back stayed the same only growing when more rock was added to it.

Due to this, he could technically wait untill Meta was ready to evolve from a Crustle to a Mantor to give her as much rock as she could hold, but he felt it was better for her to gradually increase it over time and get used to having so much weight on her back. Even if that, when crustle evolves, it won't feel like its carrying any weight, considering the rock becomes part of its body.

Still after only a few weeks, Meta was ready to rank up to the novice rank. In fact she was even faster than Moy by a couple of days considering the diffuculty he had with her at first.

"Are ready Meta? Good luck!"

"Don't worry father, there will be no problems."

"Wooooo! Go Meta! I know you can do it!"

He wasn't actually worried about there being a problem, he just wanted to give her some encourgment. The only time problems really happened with ranking up was when a pokemon was seriously injured making it no longer able to increase in strength.

Meta had taken her shell off for her rank up considering her body would be expanding once she had finished. Strangly, unlike most dwebble, she didn't seem to be ridiculously scared to be without her shell. Before he knew it there was a bright flash of light and in front of him was an all new slightly bigger dwebble.

She quickly got to expanding her shell to fit her new size while also adding on top of it. Luckily it didn't take nearly as long for Meta to make her way through the rock due to the increased potency of her rock dissolving liquid.

"Good job Meta. I know you could do it."

"Go Meta, Go! I knew you could do it! Moy is now one step closer to sitting on your back!"

"Thank you father, Moy. Do you wish for me to continue training father?"

"You can't always train Meta, espically not right after a breakthrough."

"Ok father, whatever you say."

And so two years passed. Moy continued with her battles, with Meta eventually joining in after she broke through to the ordinary rank, and got a handle on her moves. After two years Meta was into the advanced rank and was making great progress on mastering all her moves. Espically due to her mutations she was able to learn a couple of extra moves like crabhammer or x-scizzor.

Even Moy had just broken into the master rank and was a true terror on the battlefield. The reason she was able to break through so quickly was because evolution makes training go by quicker for a little while after it. It laster so long though due to Moy holding back for so long to evolve.

In fact completing her intermediate and ordinary ranks was one to two months slower than going through the elite and profesional ranks for Moy. Sadly this boost wasn't going to hold up, and it would probaly take another three years for Moy to reach peak quasi elite four.

He had also made great progress, with his gravity braclet reaching 9.6X. Part of this was due to the fact that he had started to once again go through purberty allowing his body to grow stronger even faster. Hormones were still annoying to deal with, but he managed to take care of it

In this time he had also finally mastered telekinesis, something many psychics couldn't do in their whole life. He had since started to learn how to physically augment his strength, speed, reaction time etc. with psychic energy. Although slow going, espically with the limited advice Sabrina could give him, it at least wasn't at a stand still, due to the talent boost in this area he got from Moy.

He had also finally started sparring with scyther, even if it was only light sparring. He could understand why scyther had forbade him from sparing with him before though. Even if it was light sparring it felt as if scyther hit like a truck.

In the meantime he had taken three of the standerized tests, and passed them with pretty much flying colors even if he was a little worse on the culture part. He would study that in the future, but for now he was more focused on pokemon related things.

It was as the second year was coming to an end though, that he finally got to see a real look of this world.
