123 Chapter 123

Aerodactyl rose high into the air with a flap of his massive wings, a snarl tugging at his maw-

And Aerodactyl hit the ground, hard.

Fearow's Steel Wing tore him from the sky without the huge rock and flying type able to stop it at all.

Aerodactyl roared and shot into the air once more-

Only to be blasted back out of the sky by a massive jet of water that slammed into him from the side.

Again he rose, shooting up to do battle, only this time a hand filled with metallic claws raked across his chest, slashing him into his durable stone-like body and stunning him-

Before a tail tipped with a massive flame shining with metallic silver power slammed into his face.

Aerodactyl hit the ground once more and lay there with a feeble groan and stared up in pure shock as Fearow, Milotic and Charizard did battle with Pidgeot under the effects of Chansey's Gravity.

He had gotten in their way as they challenged the strongest and was summarily, kicked aside like trash.

Not far away from him, the comatose body of Dragonite lay in a groove where he'd been lain out just like Aerodactyl.

Such was the risk that came with trying to claim the title of my strongest pokemon.

I actually hadn't planned on a training session until we reached Viridian City, but I thought it was best to outright establish the pecking order with Aerodactyl while I'd stunned him personally.

And as he learned, Jord's School of Hard Knocks, wasn't the gentlest, especially when one wasn't used to it and entirely ignorant of where they stood in the grand scheme of things.

Well, usually I'd ease my new pokemon into training under gravity, Like Kabutops who was currently at my side going through some basic exercises to get used to it first, right now he was doing squats.

Aerodactyl on the other hand, tried to establish his dominance. And was dominated instead.

While he was strong and sturdy, he had never trained under gravity, nevermind the intensity of it that my pokemon trained under.

And…before I would have ranked Aerodactyl as a bit stronger than Charmeleon, but below Milotic a little bit. Now that he was a Charizard though, his strength, his speed, his durability and his power had all increased massively.

Before, I would have ranked him maybe fifth or sixth strongest out of all my pokemon, but now he had to be third, if not possibly second, he was definitely around the same level as Fearow though, that was for sure.

A rumbling groan drew my and Aerodactyl's attention to Dragonite wobbly pushing himself up out of the groove his body had made in the ground when Charizard had smashed him out of the air with Dragon Rush.

He shook his head, ignored the damage to his body, flapped his wings and took to the air against, electricity sparking around his hands as he shot into the air in a blur of speed up to where Pidgeot was weaving around blasts of ice and water from Milotic while trading blows with both Fearow and Charizard.

Both of his wings, glowing white with power were occupied as he blocked Fearow's Steel Wing and Charizard's Mega Punch, at the same time launching a blast of water from his beak, mirroring the blast Milotic shot up at him while he was occupied and blocking it.

Dragonite saw his chance and attacked Pidgeot with all his might and speed. Only, just as he was about to make contact with his twin thunder punch attack, Pidgeot thrust his taloned foot out and kicked Dragonite across the face before he managed and sent the pseudo legendary crashing downwards like a bullet to form a crater in the ground beside Aerodactyl.

Aerodactyl goggled in shock.

He looked like his entire world was getting turned upside down.

Which was good for him. Though, going by the way Kabutops was goggling himself, he apparently couldn't believe the pokemon who tormented him was so low on the totem pole.

The world was a big place though.

Personally, right now, I wasn't even working out with my pokemon, all that much. Sure, I was currently under the gravity as well, but I was only doing squats alongside Kabutops, while the rest of my pokemon went about their usual physical training regiment.

…Sans the ones currently duking it out.

While I doing squats, I've been rifling through my pokedex checking over the listed profiles of my pokemon.

Specifically the ones at the Viridian City Pokemon Centre. I'd held off on keeping track of them daily, because I wanted to be surprised any progress they made, and boy am I.

I can clearly see they have not been slacking off.

Poliwrath had learned Brick Break, Bide and Ice Punch. Not sure how he learned Ice Punch, though I'm not complaining. Beedrill had learned electroweb and Drill Run. While Butterfree had picked up Psychic. Raboot had learned Flamethrower and Snivy had picked up Sunny Day and Solarbeam, while Golem had learned Brick Break as well and Shiftry had gotten down Shadow Ball.

I've not even trained Snivy and Raboot yet and they've already improved. That was a great sign for the future.

The one who surprised me the most though, had to be Raticate. Boy, did he go above and beyond. Ice Beam, Thunderbolt, Flame Wheel, Sunny Day and Skull Bash.

How hard has he been training? And how did he learn Flame Wheel and Ice Beam? None of my other pokemon know them.

Raticate was such a plucky guy, I loved him man. He always went above and beyond my expectations.

I'll be sure to praise him well when I get to Viridian.

Beyond that, I had the time to check the move pool of my other new pokemon like the Exeggutor. Hypnosis, Barrage, Leech Seed, Confusion, Stomp. Pretty basic all things considered, and the same went for the Kabuto and Omanyte who only knew a few basic moves themselves. The Omastar were a bit more developed though, like my Kabutops with both knowing Water Gun, Spike Cannon, Bind, Rollout and Mud Shot.

…I didn't even know Omastar could get Bind

I was broken out of my musings as Charizard was launched down after being bashed with a Wing Attack and slammed bodily into Milotic.

I winced at the impact and looked up, just in time to see Fearow compress an orb of crackling black energy within his beak, before spitting it out in the form of a massive beam of pitch black darkness.

Which was promptly met by an exact same copy as Pidgeot used Mirror Move to use Hyper Beam himself.

Twin beams of darkness met and clashed, converging together into a massive dark crackling sphere in the middle that swelled and swelled until-

Boom!

It erupted in a massive explosion that drowned out every other sound for miles away. Even hundreds of feet below, shock waves came hurling down to crash into me.

The force was so great I actually stumbled a bit and Kabutops flinched in fear at my side. I pat his head gently to soothe him, even as both massive bird pokemon fell hundreds of feet from the air, the explosion sweeping over them both and knocking them down.

They hit the dirt, hard.

"Pidgeooo!"

"Rooooow!

And rose back up, spreading their huge powerful wings outwards, challengingly at each other, even as they panted for breath, their usual pristine feathers muddied and matted.

They were absolutely exhausted.

It was then though, that Aerodactyl's eyes lit up as he saw a chance, with a menacing grin on his maw that showed off all his razor sharp teeth, Aerodactyl pushed himself up, purple and gold energy beginning to ignite around his body.

He was preparing to use Giga Impact and slam both Fearow and Pidgeot while they were distracted and exhausted.

I could have stopped him easily by recalling him to his pokeball.

But there was no need.

Aerodactyl roared and jumped, flapping his wings as he shot towards both pokemon-

"Aeroooo-!?!?" only for him to cry out in surprise and eyes bulge wide open as he was stopped in his tracks.

By a pair of dainty little pink paws grasping him by the tail.

"Chansey chanse!" Chansey was frowning from where she casually stopped Aerodactyl in his tracks.

Before bodily lifting him up by the tail, up high into the air and slamming him into the ground. And then back up and slamming him back down on the other side, then back to the first and repeated.

Chansey bodily slammed Aerodactyl into the ground by his tail a good ten or so times before she finally let go, letting him slump to the ground in a daze.

She waddled around to his front and waggled her pink paw at him scoldingly, "Chansey, chanse, chansey!"

Yeah, not a lot of people knew, but the Chansey line as a whole? They had super strength.

Aerodactyl was a lot more subdued after Chansey proceeded to heal him and everyone else.

I decided to cut the training short there, since it more or less accomplished what I wanted done and establish to Aerodactyl, that he was far from the strongest pokemon around.

I hadn't even given him the chance to challenge me after throwing him and left it up in the air if he could even beat me, never mind Pidgeot.

Though he'd definitely tear me apart in a real fight between us.

As it was though, I had to wait around a little while longer before I could get moving again. Long enough for Pidgeot, with Chansey's help to restore his stamina.

"You good?" I asked Pidgeot once Chansey finished up, slumping onto her backside and panting a little bit.

"Pidgeo!" he nodded, spreading his wings wide open and proudly.

"Good good," I nodded, before turning to Chansey and crouching down to rub her head, "Thanks a bunch girl, you're an angel."

"Chanse…." she smiled happily, if tiredly back at me.

"You're the best girl," I praised her, "We wouldn't even be close to how strong we are right now without you." honestly, I'm not sure if I'd have even gotten strong enough with my pokemon to beat Lili back at the Cerulean City gym without Chansey by now.

Pidgeot cocked his head to the side, before giving a begrudging nod of agreement, "Pidgo Pidgeot."

"Chansey chanse." she looked away, a little dusting of red on her cheeks.

Honestly, if not for Chansey, I might have lost to Cross. I might not have gotten Charmander. I might have not even got the attention of Hilda. I'd probably be stuck training diligently in Cerulean City and so far behind where I am currently.

Hell, I probably wouldn't have even arrived in Cerulean City as quick as I did without her and never even met Hilda.

When I thought about it like that…it really does hammer in, that the vast majority of what I've accomplished, has only been possible so far because of Chansey.

Unable to contain myself, I swept my arms around my rotund body and hugged her tight, "Everything is all thanks to you girl, I really love you girl, you're the best!"

"…Chanse…?" she squeaked, squirming in my grip, before relaxing and hugging me back.

And erupting into bright blinding light.

Within my grip, Chansey's body grew and expanded. Shooting upwards until she was a few inches taller than myself and filling out to the point where I couldn't even wrap my arms around her anymore and was forced to let go and step back.

When the light died down a few moments later, it was to reveal Chansey, now a Blissey and fully evolved.

"Blissey!" she chirped happily and bounced forward to sweep me up into a backbreaking hug.

….If I wasn't as strong as I was from all my training, she might have accidentally snapped my back.

Let it not be said that just because Blissey didn't actively battle, did not mean she was not getting stronger everyday like the rest of my pokemon.
