Chapter 2: Mike's First Partner

Mike entered the office, but Willow asked why he was running so fast. Mike said that the Professor was at gunpoint by a Team Boom Grunt and he said to grab a Pokemon. On his desk were 3 Pokeballs with labels. The one on the left said Rowlet, Grass-type. Torchic, Fire-type. Squirtle, Water-type. Mike just chose Rowlet at random. Willow came to help the professor too. 2 minutes have passed when the grunt was holding Professor Pine at gunpoint, Mike and Willow reached Amon Forest but before they could reach the grunt, Professor Pine was shot in the head 5 times. Willow ran to see if her boss was alright but the grunt confronted her.

He was going to shoot her but he ran out of bullets. When the grunt ran for the forest exit, Mike stopped him and sent out Rowlet. He commanded Rowlet to use leafage but just ignored him. It was not long until the Hammerton Police were investigating Pine's death. Mike sent Rowlet back to its Pokeball and walked home in disappointment. Mike decided to pause his adventure as a trainer. 4 days later, Sophie heard a knock on their door. It was James Frank, Professor Pine's Lawyer. On his will, Pine wanted Sophie to become the next professor of Hammerton as they were both top of their class at Hammerton University.

Mike decided that he would restart his journey and would become a Pokemon master. He threw Rowlet out of its Pokeball and started to train it to become his signature Ace Pokemon. Not long after, Rowlet became good pals with Mike. Mike has decided that he and his team of Pokemon would go on to defeat Team Boom and avenge the professor's death.
