4 PARENTHOOD

A/N: my stories are more in the style of journal than a scene/play. so most of the time I will be paraphrasing dialogue instead of writing charcters. if any of you think of a dialogue line that would fit my paraphrasing to be either funny, badass, dramatic or cool in any way or firm, please set the dialogue (quote l in paragraph comment .

Almost a week after I came to saffron city, officer Jenny called Sybil informing her that they have found my parents. I was taking care of the twin eggs when she told me. they said that my parents would come to meet me the next day. I don't know how to feel about all this. I don't have any memories of my body's past so I don't know what to expect from them. I do know that I want to stay with koichi family, my parents can't drag me away now that I'm 10, but that still means that I will be out of my main excuse of staying here in the first place.

I've spent the day spending time with Ava, Eve, Yamask and bronzor. My Meowth eggs are actually put in Yamask and bronzor's incubator, from when they were bought as eggs. They have always looked at their trainers as their mothers, and now they have started to even look at me as their father. All this just remind me that I have taken over the body of somebody's child. I guess I have to at least be courteous to then when they come.

The next day, a beautiful couple shows up at our door and Sybil Greets them in. Both of them show visible relief and the women even runs at me to hug me. I freeze up as she hugs me, when she realises this, she lets me lose and looks heart broken . I realise that I haven't said a word since they got here so I say "um..., hello" in a quiet and shy voice.

They introduce themselves as Bronze and Lily Ares. They tell me that my name is Argus Ares. they explain the story of how I found myself in my situation. My father is a Pokemon trainer and champion of the Jhoto region. He was born in Jhoto and when he was a talented young trainer, he found himself with a sponsorship from Silph Co. to represent them in Pokemon tournaments. That's how he met my mother who is a researcher at Silph Co. .

As the champion of Jhoto league, he has many responsibilities, which include many ceremonial visits as well as doing high level missions for the Pokemon Association. Since he was busy in Jhoto, my mother though she would bring me to her maternal home of Cerulean City. In fact, The sisters that run the gym there are her nieces through her cousin .

There she got fascinated by her cousin's collection of water type Pokemon and traded some of her research Pokemon for some of their Pokemon to further her research. Once she got into the flow of research, I had to entertain myself by spending most of my time with my other local relatives. One of my cousins, younger than me started teasing me how even though I'm 10, I haven't got a Pokemon yet, while she has had a seals since she was 6.

My parents were always too busy to take on extra responsibility of a Pokemon for me as well, and I want old enough before we left Jhoto to have one without them becoming responsible for it. I apparently got angry at my cousin and snuck out of my grandma's house with a quick ball I stole from there. They don't know the rest so I tell them what I know and what I found out from pichu, translated by Wobbuffet using telepathy.

I probably saw the pichu south of Cerulean City and threw the quick ball to catch him. Before he got got caught though, he saw me throwing something and blasted me with everything he got, even using his own life force to increase his attack power. I then tell them everything about finding Crocus village and grandma Angie, then about how I came to saffron city and praised the hospitality of the koichi family.

Sybil asked how come it took them a week after I filled my case with officer Jenny to find out about me being here, when they are both very influencial people and with both being high level employees of Silph Co., whose headquarters is in this city itself.

My father (Bronze) made a serious face and told us that he got to cerulean City immediately after he found out I was missing. He said that during the time I was at grandma Angie's, Cerulean City had a sudden case of a serial kidnapper, who kidnapped children. Both my parents thought that I was one of its victims and started searching for me by pulling the threads of this case.

IT took them almost two weeks to find out that it was a drowsee that was hypnotizing the children into his cave, giving them nightmares and feeding off of their bad dreams. During the investigation, they got notified that someone of my description was found in saffron city. Before the police gave them my location though, they had to give DNA samples to confirm our relation to the police considering they already had mine from my visit to the hospital.

They wanted to come as soon as they found out that I was found, but they could not give up on the case with so many children missing and them having taken the lead position as investigators due to their influence. They wrapped the case up as fast as they could to make it here right now and meet me.

They wanted me to come to Jhoto with them, spend some time with them before I start my journey but I refused. I brought out pichu and both incubators to tell them that I have already started my journey. I tell them that I don't know or remember them, yet I still feel some love towards them that I can't explain. I tell them that my best hope of gaining my memories back is here by training at the dojo, other than interference from a powerfull psychic Pokemon. Which I would never allow.

I tell them that in just a week, I have learnt to meditate and clam my mind from Medicham. I can almost perfom some fighting moves I learnt from hitmonlee,hitmontop and hitmonchan (Kain's father's Pokemon). I've learnt arm thrust, duble kick and triple kick from them, although my execution of them is not yet perfect, they tell me that I'm as good at them as a baby Pokemon of fighting type and have good potential.

I explain how this city is famous for its gym leader having psychic powers, so I hope that just like I've learnt fighting type moves, I can awaken a psychic talent by training hard. they ask me how do I expect to awaken psychic talent by learning fighting moves and I tell them about how all the Pokemon at dojo have been helping me learn focus energy.

Medicham, Galade and wobbuffet all confirmed that once I can focus my internal energy, they can help determine my talent for psychic energies bring psychic your themselves, or even help develop one over a long period of time if I don't have high affinity towards it.

I practice it every day with my pichu and because it is not so physically intense, with me needing to only sit and concentrate, I even have my eggs nearby when I practice it. I know from the anime that the eggs can see/hear about outside world. I even know that they can perform some moves, from when a manaphy egg performed heart swap in the anime. My hope is that maybe these eggs can learn it in the current form to make up for there pre-mature laying.

I tell them how close I've gotten to the family here compared the them, who I don't even know. If they want to have a close relationship and spend time with me, then they will have to do so in saffron city, atleast until I leave on my journey with Ava and Eve, when they turn 10. They are a little distraught but considering what I've been through and my logic they are convinced. Although the logic is a bit of a stretch, I'm a 10 year old, so it's more that they recognise my stubbornness rather than agree with the logic.

They want to personally thank grandma Angie for her help so they ask Sybil how to get there. Sybil tells them that she will go there the next day anyways, so she can take them with her. I get excited and ask her if I can come as well and she had no problem agreeing. By sundown, my parents tell us that they will get a room from Silph Co. in the city and they will meet us in the morning to go to crocus village.

Before they leave, the seem to have remembered something as they turn around. They bring out two small Pokemon from their pokeball. I recognise them as Phantump and Pumpkaboo from the kalos region. They tell me that before I lost my memory, I was fascinated by both Ghost and Grass type Pokemon. When I found out about Pokemon with dual typing for both, I was smitten.

They said that I told them I wanted one of them as my starter but couldn't decide which and that I even joked that maybe having both as my starters would be awesome. They thought that they would surprise me with both on my birthday, but my father got some urgent call from the Jhoto league and my mom and me came here. My father really wanted to be there when I got my starter so they decided to delay giving them to me until he got back.

I was shocked. I really did like both the Pokemon but I told them that I already have a very young Pokemon(pichu) who needs all my attention at the moment, with two more already on the way (Meowth). They ask me what I would like to do with these Pokemon then. I asked if I could gift them to the family that saved me and helped me.

They smile and told me the Pokemon are mine to do as I please, so long as they are well taken care of. I give them both to Sybil , who is shocked by what happened. She is happy to receive them as she has already specialised as a ghost Pokemon trainer, she can easily raise them, especially with the help of Haunter and Sableye. I ease any of her hesitation against accepting such a exotic and expensive gift by telling her that I really am stretched thin with all the Pokemon I have to take care of already, she will be helping me by taking them off my hand and giving them the care that they need

My parents then leave for their hotel greeting us good bye and goodnight and Kain and Sybil go to bed. I go Ava and Eve's room where I have been sleeping during my stay here as I contemplate how to handle my emotions of confusion, content and guilt. that's when I remember my training for meditation, calm mind and focus energy from Kain's Pokemon and I practice it to sleep.
