10 First Mission

When Aaron got back to the barracks he heard a noise in his head.

Ding

"Test Test. Loki here speaking, I have been watching all of you and my my what progress all of you have made. I am looking forward to see how each of you grow. I have an announcement I would like to make. Since the last of your classmates has just became an D-Rank trainer. I mean all of those that have survived of course.

I have decided to add a little thing to help you all out and to enhance my entertainment. I am going to keep the DP Store open for your use although all of the prices will be adjusted accordingly. All you do is use your ID's like you did earlier for access it.

In order to earn DP you have to take risks. It can be different things like taking certain missions, battling fellow trainers, or even picking up different resources outside your settlement. Here is a hint If you want to strike it rich look for relics that are similar to these.

Suddenly an image came to his mind. It was a collection of object ranging from cups, badges, shards and some type of fang that where pitch black in color.

Well that's all for now.

Loki

PS: (I really like this class wide messenger.)

Aaron was shocked by the announcement he then quickly checked his DP it was at 30. He clicked on it and found out he got points for every day he survived outside of the city. He then looked at the prices and immediately closed the screen. The prices for everything even the clothing had increased by about 3x what was displayed when he first got here. As he didn't have any money right now he first looked up Trapinch line food recipe. It was listed as 200 DP. Sigh well at least I know now. He then saw that a 2 day supply of the food cost 10 DP. He shrugged and it appeared in front of him. He immediately put it into his bag. He then made his way to the computer room to look for missions.

He soon found out that no D-Rank missions will take you outside the walls although not all missions that take place within the city state are D-Rank. Most to the D- Rank missions are guard duty missions that have little risk. He could accept the mission from the Pokémon center but would have to go to the center district for payment.

The guard missions where issued by rich people to guard them in the park. There was also missions to guard the plantation district and farms. There was some missions that only certain guilds could take because the person who issued the mission requested that guild. Each guild had different reputations. Instinct was the loosest guild and had many trainers that went with the flow and had a nonchalant demeanor about them. They where the least powerful of the big 3 and had the lowest requirements.

Valor had a rumor where strength showed all and they where proud of it. They where very arrogant but they had the right to be so arrogant because they where the most powerful guild and they all focused on battling. They had the second largest amount of trainers and was male dominated.

Mystic is known for their intellect and strategies. They are very punctual and their members tend to be less outright arrogant, having the largest amount of female trainers and they were known for for protecting guildmates. They are also the head of research within the city.

Mystic and Instinct where different than Valor as a trainer had the opportunity study in other things outside of just being a battle trainer. They could also earn guild points for discoveries.

Lastly Instinct was just the standard guild. They had a lot of members who had been rejected from the other two. They had less requirements as a Guild and many of their members are not strict. He found most of them tend to be go with the flow type of people. Or just people who want to enjoy themselves and other things. They excelled in areas of commerce and information. They held trading events and Auctions throughout the year where rare items and Pokemon could be purchased.

Aaron couldn't care less about the guilds right now as he just needed money. He was looking through the missions and he came across a couple of guard missions that paid 50 dollars a piece. He thought about it and took two for today. The first one in the morning was patrolling a park that was currently being renovated. The second mission was being a guard for a company celebration in a similar park near where his first patrol was. He had one hour until the mission started so he went to go get his one free meal of the day and then report to the site.

...

Aaron made it to the park where he was greeted by a guy with glasses who wore a mystic jacket.

"Haven't seen you before. You must be one of the rookies." He said to Aaron who in return just nodded. He saw Aaron as the silent type and didn't wait for a reply and led him to meet the trainer in charge while explaining a few things to Aaron.

On the way to their destination he learned a couple things about the city state. Like most other cities Junction divided its city into sectors. Each Sector took on the shape of the city's rounded triangle and became smaller as one moved towards the center sector. Sector 11 was where the farms where located while 10 was the trainer district. The lower the district number the better quality of life within the sector. They where currently in the eastern portion of sector 5 which is known as the commercial district as it was completely filled with malls, supermarkets and many restaurants. There where three large parks in each of the three different former cities. Every district in the city state had shops and restaurants but this sector was where the majority of business happens.

Aaron nodded and asked " I have another mission later today that is relatively near this park would you know where it is being located". The trainer paused for a bit and replied "Its most likely the private park located in Valor territory. So you either take the train or you could walk but I recommend the train as most of the civilians only tolerate trainers when they need them, otherwise they seem abhor us. So it's best not to be roaming around in a crowd of civilians.

Aaron nodded and continued listening to the informative trainer. Soon they came upon a vast park that seemed to be the location of their mission. They where greeted by six other trainers. The leader was a pretty lady who had quite the large assets which some of the trainers where starting at trying not to drool.

"Morning," she said. "You must be Trainer Aaron. I'm Trainer Lucy. I'm the shift leader for this shift. It's good that you are here early," she said. "I wanted to speak to you before our shift started and Aaron gave her his full attention.

"You are still a rookie and this is your first mission. I just wanted to cover what will be expected of you today."

Lucy and Aaron began to walk in the park while she explained some things. The park was mostly low trimmed lawns with trees and park benches spread out. There was a paved path that wound around and through the park for people to walk on. There was also a very large pond in the center of the park.

"This is a guard patrol mission," she began to explain as Aaron looked around." That means our mission consists of constantly patrolling this park looking for any wild Pokémon that may have made it into the city state. Unfortunately the wall can't keep out every single Pokémon. Some of them do manage to sneak in and make it far into the city state. Most are smaller Pokémon that a D-rank trainer can deal with.

Your job is to be ready and deal with these issues and protecting the surrounding people and property. We will have two C ranks in the Guard station that has access to the intercom system. We will alert you and just radio in about any issues. Pokemon are not allowed out unless you have to engage a threat.

Are you clear about this?

"Yes Mam,"

"Good, now lets head back and I will send you with a more experienced trainer for a while before we let you explore on your own."

Aaron nodded and complied

Shortly they returned and Aaron was paired up with a guy that was about 5 years older than him. His name was Seth and was still a D- Rank trainer from Instinct.

He was very amicable and held discussions well. He explained how he was drafted and only did the bare minimum but recently wanted to turn his life around and climb the ranks as a trainer and merchant. His two Pokemon where surprisingly a Meowth and a Zigzagoon. He said he has only been out in the plains and now he really wanted to improve his strength.

Aaron nodded and continued to listen to the explanations of his partner while he constantly scouted his surroundings

Aaron received a bunch of information about the missions and what to expect and where the easiest jobs are and where they encounter the most Pokemon. He learned that most guarding jobs are taken by one or two mission groups from different guilds and depending on which guild was in charge the more strict the requirements of the mission. Apparently Mystic was a stickler when it came to missions and Instinct leaders where more laid back while Valor was depended on the trainer.

Eventually hours passed and there was no Pokemon encounter just the stares and looks of contempt from the citizens that passed by them in the park. He was actually disappointed as he thought he and Trapinch might be able to battle.

She has been getting better day after day and her control over ground moves have become more refined. He needed her to battle more before he started her to controlling ground energy and rock energy inside of her rather than just simply using moves with the elements. He also wanted her to develop in fights more. Although they have been through a life or death battles she needed to keep her fighting instincts sharp.

He thought of increasing her training somehow by getting weights but that wouldn't really work right now with his lack of money. He new that in order for her to grow more he had to get her more nutritious food hence he needed money.

After the mission was done he had two hours till he needed to report to the next mission. He rode the mag train to the nearest stop and headed to the park early. He arrived and sat down in the shade of a tree and began to watch the people around and the passerby's. Some people who saw his badge quickly headed in the other direction to avoid him. He layed down and closed his eyes.

When he woke up from his nap he scanned his surroundings on a park bench sat an elderly man with a cane who seemed to be struggling to stand up. Aaron made his way over to him and said

"Sir. May I help you with anything."

The man kept silent and studied Aaron for a sec seeming to determine his intentions.

Aaron just shrugged and said "I have some time before my next job. I just wanted to see if you needed help. In repayment can you point me towards this parks guard facility. I am a new trainer after all."

The man squinted his eyes but relaxed a bit. He nodded and replied "Would you able to help me up and escort me to the building over there." He pointed to the building off in the distance at the edge of the park.

"Yes sir, I can do that" Aaron smiled and offered his Arm and helping the elderly gentleman up off the bench. The man stood up while struggling a little. He then took Aaron's arm and using his cane moved slowly towards his destination.

Aaron kept quiet and smiled. After a while the man thought 'Most youngsters would not have the patience to put up with me. He seems to have a good head on his shoulders compared to some of the spoiled brats I have seen.'

Aaron kept smiling and enjoyed the relaxing atmosphere of the park. It was quite an extreme difference than what he experienced within his Ordeal. He suddenly saw the bushes near the side of the pathway shake a little and a small purple rodent came out. It stared sharply at the two humans.

Aaron stepped infront of the man and immediately tossed his Pokeball and called out Trapinch.

Trapinch immobilize with Sand Tomb followed by Bug Bite and Finish it off with normal Bite.

Trapinch immediately used Quick Attack and arrived before the Ratatta before it could process what was happening. Trapinch glowed a brown color and send a small storm of sand and rocks at the wild Pokemon trapping it and limiting its vision. It then jumped and used Bug Bite on it causing it to be severely damaged then with no wasted movements its mouth was surrounded by dark energy and clamped on the Pokemon killing it. Trapinch then ended the small sand storm and looked at its trainer.

Aaron let out a sigh of relief as he stood infront of the old man to protect him. He then nodded to Trapinch who seemed to swallow the small Pokemon whole. Aaron then returned it back to its poke ball.

All that was left was an abnormal amount of sand on the side of the walk way.

The old man didn't say anything and just watched the young trainer swiftly take care of the problem. He nodded indicating his gratitude while he mentally was praising the trainer.

Aaron nodded and returned to helping the elderly man to the building. After a while they made it and the man thanked him and told him that the guard office was a two minute walk down the path.

Aaron quickly made his way to his next mission with the elderly man staring the way the young trainer took off in.
