Vs Team Rocket

The appearance of Team Rocket grunts took everyone by surprise since they knew who they were and why they would be here.

"I will say it once," the commander of the grunts walked forward. He had a bald head with a large body and muscles bulging out.

"Hand over all the pokemons you have, along with any other valuables," he looked at everyone with his cold eyes, enjoying the fear written on their faces.

"I have called the police; officer Jenny will be here soon," said Nurse Joy as she tried to lift the spirits of everyone in the PokeCentre.

Most of the people in the PokeCentre were those who had just started their pokemon journey. They had heard about Team Rocket killing people for pokemon, and hence they were afraid of what might happen to them if they did not follow their orders.

"Do you think we will stay here till then?" laughed the commander before he ordered the grunts to gather all the pokemons.

"Stop," said Misty when she saw the grunts forcefully taking away the pokemons, "stop where you are before..."

She did not complete her sentence as she realized she did not have her Pokemon.

'Shit.'

"Do we have a girl trying to be a hero?" said the commander with a smirk as he made his way towards Misty.

"Stay where you are," she threatened while taking a fighting stance. She may not have her pokemon with her; she was still a strong Pokemon trainer with a Gyarados as Blood Bond.

"I will personally take care of you," said the commander as he licked his lips, creeping the heck out of Misty.

"I will help you," said Ash as he stood beside Misty, ready for a fight. He, just like Misty, had given his pokemon away for treatment.

The grunts went back to stealing the pokemons as the kids were too scared to fight someone from Team Rocket.

"Oi you, handover your pokeballs," said a grunt when he saw that the boy was ignoring all of them.

*Bang*

The boy pulled the grunt by his collar and banged his head on the table. The grunt did not even make a sound before he was unconscious on the ground, bleeding from his head.

"Hmm?" the commander and the rest of the grunts looked over and saw a boy with black hair and eyes, wearing black clothes, standing over the body of their squad member.

The commander had some experience, and he knew that the person in front of him was stronger than most of them here, and thus he made a quick decision.

"Use your pokemons," he said, and without any delays, every one of them took their pokeballs and released their pokemons.

Zubats, Koffings and Ekans appeared before everyone. The commander, too, released his pokemon and two lights flashed before his pokemon appeared before everyone as well.

An Arbok and a Golbat.

The Zubat, Koffing and Ekans were around level 20 to 22, while the pokemon of the commander were both at level 30 and 31, respectively.

[Arbok

Type: Poison.

Level: 25

Potential: Yellow.

Stage: Intermediate Stage (Mid)]

.

.

.

[Golbat

Type: Poison/Flying

Level: 27

Potential: Deep Yellow.

Stage: Intermediate Stage (Peak)]

Both of his pokemon had the decent talent of Yellow and Deep Yellow, while the other pokemons barely had Orange or so potential.

"Since you want to do things the hard way, then I won't be polite," he said before he ordered his pokemons to attack Alan.

A black-light flashed and Eve appeared before Alan, facing the two pokemon.

"I will keep the commander busy, help others or go get your pokemons." Alan gave the instructions to Misty and Ash, and they both decided to follow them with no questions asked.

Ash ran towards the recovery room to get their Pokemon while Misty stayed to fight the grunts and the weaker Pokemon with her sword; the least she could do was keep them busy till Alan either defeated the commander or Ash returned with the Pokeballs.

"Eve, use Calm Mind, then Agility."

Espeon was a pokemon with high Special Attack, and Alan envisioned Eve developing her strength over other aspects.

Before the fight started, he made Eve raise her Special Attack and then followed it with an Agility to increase her speed.

It was going to be a two vs one, and the pokemons this time had a trainer who most probably used TMs, unlike the wild Fearow. Eve had also only recovered half her energy from the previous fight, the main reason being the move Stored Power that was a lot more taxing on her than Hyper Beam itself.

"Arbok, use Bite. Golbat, Stay away from that Espeon and use Shadow Ball," the Team Rocket commander gave instructions to his pokemons which they followed without any delays.

The Arbok gathered Dark energy around his teeth before he charged towards Eve. Golbat, on the other hand, used a Shadow Ball from a distance and sent it towards Eve.

"Dodge Arbok with Quick Attack and then use a Shadow Ball as well."

Eve was surrounded with white light before she charged at the Arbok coming her way, and at the last moment, when it was about to Bite her, she used her speed to dodge and then sent a Shadow Ball towards the incoming Shadow Ball.

*Bang*

An explosion took place when the Shadow Balls collided with each other.

'Use Light Screen,' said Alan within his mind and Eve, who could now talk to Alan telepathically, followed his instruction.

"Arbok, use Bite again," said the commander, pissed that Eve had dodged the previous attack, "Golbat, keep using Shadow Ball till you hit the Espeon. Make sure you time it right with Arbok."

Psychic pokemon were weak to Bug, Ghost and Dark-type. He was trying to use this in his favour by using only Ghost or Dark-type moves.

Eve finished another Light Screen before she dodged the Arbok, and just then, the Golbat fired off a Shadow Ball.

"Eve, use Shadow Ball at the Arbok." Alan said it aloud, but he immediately changed the orders using their telepathy link, 'use it on Golbat.'

The damage from the Shadow Ball was cut to half by Light Screen, and Eve prepared her own Shadow Ball. It was bigger and stronger than the one made by the Team Rocket commander.

"Arbok dodge the attack," said the commander. If Arbok, a Poison-type pokemon, were hit by such a powerful Shadow Ball, it would take a lot of damage. Added to the fact Eve had high Special Attack and along with her move mastery at Advanced Stage (which the commander did not know for sure, but could guess given the size of her Shadow Ball), Arbok might as well be injured to the point of it being useless for the fight.

Arbok immediately moved away from Eve, but the Shadow Ball he expected from its opponent never came its way. On the other hand, Eve tanked the Shadow Ball from Golbat and fired off the Shadow Ball towards Golbat.

Golbat, who was about to prepare another Shadow Ball, was surprised by the massive ball of Ghost energy coming his way rather than towards his partner.

The Team Rocket commander was surprised by the turn of events as well, and before he could do something, Golbat was hit by a strong Psybeam.

*Boom*

The Ghost energy it had gathered for the Shadow Ball dispersed, and it was sent flying away after taking the Psybeam from Eve head-on.

"You!!" the commander, who was pissed off at Alan's underhanded means, turned towards him to curse, but all he saw was a fist coming his way.

"There are no rules in an open fight," said Alan before he swung his fist at the commander's face, "make sure you learn that lesson."

He sent the Team Rocket commander flying towards his Golbat, but it did not end there. He asked Eve to use Psychic and brought him back towards him.

"Huh? What is going on?" the confused commander had no time to be surprised before he saw another fist in front of his face.

*Bang*

Alan was sure he heard the sound of a nose cracking with this one.

Eve who was already expecting this turned around and fired off her strongest Shadow Ball towards the Arbok.

The poor pokemon did not expect his trainer to be attacked. While he was busy being shocked and worried, a massive Shadow Ball made its way to him and blasted him to the other corner of PokeCentre.

But Eve, who was always merciless in her battles, fired off another Shadow Ball, to be sure. It hit the Arbok head-on, gaining a painful cry from it and just when it thought this was the end, another Shadow Ball hit him right in the face, and that was the last thing it saw before going unconscious. The same thing happened with Golbat, but instead of Shadow Ball, it was Psybeam.

Eve walked up to Alan, who was busy looking at the stunned appearance of everyone.

As soon as Alan and the Team Rocket commander started their fight, everyone paid full attention to them and paused what they were doing since the fight was just that interesting.

The power shown by both sides was stronger than anyone here, and Alan punching the commander left a significant impact on many people.

He, however, ignored them since he had better things to do.

"Return you pokemons to pokeballs and surrender or else..." he did not finish his words before a Team Rocket grunt decided to run away. Just as he reached the exit, he started flying and was brought back inside by Eve, who used her Psychic powers to stop him from running.

"As I said, running is useless," Alan spoke to them once again, and this time, they believed him after seeing how Eve dealt with the one who was about to run away.

They returned their pokemons to their pokeballs and dropped to the ground.

Not long after the whole episode, Officer Jenny appeared with her men and a Growlithe. She was expecting a battle with the Team Rocket, but she saw the Team Rocket goons on the ground, ready to be captured by them.

She looked at Nurse Joy for answers, and the latter pointed towards Alan.

Officer Jenny understood what happened here with that small gesture. She wanted to thank Alan, but it was time to take care of the Team Rocket members before that.

She ordered her men to capture them all and take away their Pokeballs.

Once she cleaned up the crime scene, Officer Jenny walked up to Alan before sitting across from him.

"Thank you for helping us," she spoke in a grateful tone. She placed a hand in her pocket and took out a small envelope before she it to him, "this is a letter I just received from Kanto League. They want to reward you with League Points for helping us with this problem but also on behalf of the Kanto Police Department, I want to ask if you could help us in matters related to Team Rocket. This envelope has a contract for it, but of course, you would be paid..."

"Officer Jenny, do you think I am someone the higher-ups of the Kanto League can coax into doing their dangerous missions?" Alan looked at Officer Jenny with a displeased look. She, too, understood that what she did was ungrateful, but she was following orders.

"And you might want to ask your League Higher-ups if they are comfortable with a foreigner solving their problems," he said while leaning back on the couch.

"Foreigner?" questioned Officer Jenny with a puzzled face.

"I am from the Elian Region, so if you want to employ me the compensation has to be more than what you are offering. And I will take the rewards for today's work though, make sure you send a word back to the League about it."

After he was done talking to Officer Jenny he walked towards Misty who was helping Nurse Joy with the injured people and Pokemons.

"You never stop amazing me," said Misty when she saw Alan was walking towards her.

"Thank you for keeping those grunts busy."

"Like they would even be a problem for you," said Misty with a slight chuckle, "what is your next plan?"

"Rest and then head to Viridian Forest to train. It is the only placed which can provide my pokemons with a good challenge for their levels. I will train for about a month before I head to Celadon City, but I do have few things I need to take care of before that," he gave a brief overview of his future plans, "what about you?"

"I would love to train with you but I hate bugs so I am going to stay away from Viridian Forest for now. I am going to the forest on the opposite side of Viridian City, a river flows through it. I want to see if I can catch a good water type pokemon. Even if I can't it would be a good training for me. I will head back home after that before I leave for Celadon City as well for the rookie tournament taking place in two months."

"Maybe we might end up seeing each other after a month?" Alan said as a joke.

"Then I will make sure you come home with me; we have the best collection of Water-type pokemons in our Cerulean City Gym. I am sure you will love it."

"Sure," Alan agreed before he said the goodbyes, "I will be leaving for Viridian Forest in the morning so I will go rest, see you later."

He walked away after that and waved his hand as a goodbye.

Misty waved her hand back, full of smiles about meeting him again and all the time she spent with him.

'Huh? What am I thinking once again?' she shook her head before she went back to helping Nurse Joy.

*************

Alan entered his room and plopped down on the bed before Eve and Shin appeared out of their pokeballs.

He prepared food for both of them and ordered something for himself since his dinner was disturbed by the Team Rocket goons.

As the trio were having their dinner, Alan received a call. He looked at the name and it was none other than Jake; the representative of the Elian League who met him last time.

Alan picked up the call with no hesitation since he was looking forward to a talk with this man.

"Hello, sir Alan."

"Hey Jake, and please drop the sir."

"If you say so, Alan."

"So, why did you call me?"

"The League heard about your recent encounter with Team Rocket. We wanted to make sure you were alright among few other things."

Alan was not surprised that the Elian League already knew about the Team Rocket incident, what he wanted to know was what were the 'few other things' Jake wanted to talk about with him.

He had to make sure he could gain as many benefits as he could from this.

I tried my best in this chapter but I think I was bit sloppy after a month of not writing. Let me know what you guys think of the chapter.
