25 Tier 1 Auction

"Room No.3 has made a bid of 20 million. Do we have any higher bids than this?" as if happy about how an unknown egg was about to be sold for a high price, Nixx could not hold off her excitement.

The auction house had deemed the egg not so worthy, but because it had a very rare and strong parent, they decided to sell it as the last item for it to be sold off to someone looking forward to having a Lucario in their team.

Being an Aura pokemon, the Lucario species was in very high demand if they were sold in the market, and they also had high average potential as a species.

Alan had was 80% sure that the pokemon inside the egg was a Riolu since it was known that a Lucario would very rarely mate with any other pokemon species.

"Sir, should we keep increasing the price?" asked the woman with a polite tone when she saw that someone dared to bid against them in the tier 2 auction.

"30 million," was the answer the man gave.

At the level he was, he could feel the pokemon's talent in aura just by its intensity, and he was sure it would be a pokemon with very good potential as well.

'Would this be enough?' he thought, but he soon clicked his tongue.

"40 million."

"Who is he?" he asked his secretary.

"I don't know, but I can find it for you," she replied and seeing her boss nod his head, she immediately made a call.

"60 million," said the man as he raised the amount by twice as much as before, "this should scare him a little, right?" he said while sipping his tea.

"100 million."

*PFFFT*

He spilled all out as he saw his opponent double his bid.

As black lines appeared on his face, he looked at Alan in frustration before speaking once more, "110 million. I hope you don't push your limits too much, young man."

He gave a subtle threat under his tone, which made Nixx frown her brows, but she did not say anything since she knew who the man was, and she or the auction house was not ready to offend him over something this small.

"130 million. If you don't have money, then say so," replied Alan with a hint of sarcasm in his tone.

"Sir, I found out who he is," said the woman before she handed the man a screen she was carrying in her hands.

"Alan Salvador, 16-year-old, will get his trainer's license tomorrow..."

"So that's him?" the man cut her off and looked at the screen, which showed a summary of Alan's profile.

"Do you know him?" she asked with a bit of surprise.

The man shook his head as he kept staring at Alan's last name, "no, but I have heard of him, and I know few more bits about it," he then raised his head and looked towards Alan, "since he is our 'star' trainer, I should let him get this egg."

He spoke in a calm tone, but his back was covered in a cold sweat as he looked at the last name of Alan, as if it had brought back some unpleasant memories.

"Are there any higher bids?" asked Nixx as she saw Alan bidding more regardless of the threat. She did not care what would happen between both parties as long as she could sell the egg for a great price.

As she saw the man not bidding anymore, she understood that he had given up.

With a slight regret and a lot of excitement in her voice, she spoke as loud as possible.

"130 million once...twice...Thrice...and Sold!!!"

"The egg now belongs to the gentleman in room number 3."

"With the last item being sold, I mark the end of tier 2 auction and once again thank everyone for attending it."

As she spoke a few more pleasantries, people started making their way towards the exit, but Alan stayed in his room waiting for the egg to arrive.

He walked back and forth within the room, and Eve too, was excited to meet the new member of their family.

It did not take long before Alan heard a knock on the door. He hurriedly walked up to the door and opened it before looking at the bluish egg placed in an incubator.

He stretched out his hands and held the egg in his arms as he felt his aura leak from his body and get absorbed by the egg.

"Congress on winning your bid," said the man who had brought him the egg, "you don't need to pay for anything you have bought from either Tier 3 or Tier 2 auction. It has all been covered by The League, though any item you buy from Tier 1 auction would be paid by yourself."

As he heard the words said by the man, Alan gave a surprised expression, and the man understood Alan's thoughts and hence decided to speak further.

"My name is Jack," he said before handing a business card to Alan, "I represent the league itself, and since you will officially become a trainer tomorrow, The Elian League has decided to invest in their only 'Star Trainer.' We will not meddle in your journey in any way but would only support you whenever necessary so you won't be politically suppressed in other regions. Of course, The League would give some missions occasionally, which you can decide to accept or decline. This would help us promote the name of the Elian Region through you. I hope this short explanation provides you with some answers; I will take my leave. I believe you have another appointment."

Jack spoke in a calm tone, and throughout his conversation with Alan, he did not pause or give Alan the chance to speak, and as he saw the woman approach them, he knew it was time for Tier 1 auction and hence left as quickly as he came.

However, Alan regained his composure as if he could understand what Jack was trying to explain within this short one-sided conversation. But he did not have enough time to ponder over it as he looked at the egg within his arms.

'Welcome to the family,' he said in his mind and because it understood what Alan said? The egg gave a slight shake before it stopped absorbing Alan's aura.

"Sir, are you ready for the next auction?" asked the attendant as she approached Alan with a small smile.

Alan nodded his head, and Eve jumped before they headed towards the Tier 1 auction.

They soon reached their room which was even more luxurious than the previous one, with a couch placed in the centre and many other things to raise the comfort level.

Alan looked at the room and nodded in appreciation.

"Are there any leaks about what is being sold this year?" he asked the woman with slight hope.

"I am sorry, sir, but I have no information regarding this, but like every year, this year's auction was also supposed to have 15 items, but with the three green potential pokemons you have given, there will be 18 for the change. Each item would be as much valuable as the last if not more," she responded in a roundabout manner.

Shaking his head, Alan walked over to the couch and waited for the auction to begin.

Unlike the previous auctions, this one only had fifty people attending, each given their private rooms.

After about thirty minutes, a woman in a black dress and an appealing figure appeared on the platform.

"My name is Siya, and I will be your host for the night," she swayed her waist as she spoke and walked on the platform.

'Are they trying to set a honey trap? But who among these figures would...'

"If it isn't, Siya, I have wanted to meet you for a long time. How about a dinner once this auction ends?"

Alan's thoughts came to a pause as he saw other comments thrown towards the woman.

"SIGH."

He ignored everyone and waited for the auction to begin with a short sigh.

After putting on a 'small show,' Siya once again spoke before clapping her hands.

"We will start this auction with some items we were given at the last minute as an addition to the regular 15 items that are sold during this auction. Though they are being sold first, they are not inferior to the rest. You will know more once I introduce you to them one by one."

As if her clap was a signal, someone came from the side door with a Pokeball placed in a golden tray.

'So they are starting with my pokemons? Works out for me.'

It did not take too long before all three pokemon were sold off, and Alan made 150 million pokedollars from them, bringing his total assets to 661 million pokedollars.

"Our next item for tonight is something that is not only rare, but we can even say that it is also something many of you would want for your pokemons."

On her signal, four men dragged a large box inside the auction room at least 3 meters long before they left it for everyone to guess its contents.

Siya walked up to the box and revealed a corpse of large pokemon lying inside, and even though it was dead, the pressure radiated by it was not easily handled by all, including Alan.

"Corpse of a Peak Pseudo-Champion Stage Ursaring."

"I don't need to give much explanation about its uses, but in short, if eaten by a pokemon with Normal-type, not only would it increase its potential but also their physical attributes."

"Bid starts at 50 million pokedollars, and each raise should be at least 1 million."

Everyone, including Alan, looked at the corpse of a beast. It might be more beneficial to a Normal-type pokemon, but, even for other pokemons, its corpse could be an elixir if consumed.

[Alan, I need it. This might help me break through the barrier we have been facing for the last six years.]

Alan understood Eve's statement. He had 661 million pokedollars, and even if he had to use them all, he would happily do so if it meant he could help Eve reach Light Violet potential.

"60 million."

A voice woke everyone from their daze, and heated bidding followed right after. This was a tier 1 auction with one of the most influential people attending it. The prices for the corpse went as high as 250 million pokedollars within a few minutes.

Thinking it was the right time, Alan decided to make his bid.

"300 million," he raised the price by 50 million but was it enough to deter others from bidding?

"310 million," said someone from another room, making it clear that Alan was not the only one who needed the corpse of a pseudo-Champion pokemon.

Once again, the price kept rising before finally, it stopped at 440 million, and Alan could buy the corpse for Eve.

"I am sure this would be the only item we could buy from this auction," said Alan but a pleased smile was hanging on his face. Eve too was as happy as he was since this corpse could be what she needed to reach the next potential grade.

As the auction kept going, the items the were auctioned were better than the last ones that appeared. If possible, Alan wanted to buy every single one of them especially the incredibly rare Dragon Fang which could be used to raise the growth rate and potential of a Dragon-type pokemon.

As the auction reached its end, it was time for the last item to make its appearance. Though he was sure he could not buy it, Alan was really looking forward to it.

"Our last item for tonight is very pokemon specific, but I believe many of you would still want it as it is one of the rarest things as well as something a pokemon trainer, regardless of their strength, would want."

Siya once again clapped her hands, and a man walked in from the side door, holding a small box in his hands.

She took the box from his hands and placed it on a small platform before opening it. As soon as the item appeared in front of everyone's eyes, small gasps escaped everyone's mouths as they greedily stared at the two stones placed inside the box.

"Mega stones!" exclaimed Alan as he saw the two stones that were placed inside the box.

"Gentlemen, this here is an Altarianite. I believe I do not need to explain what this is or what are its uses."

"The bid starts at 200 million with each raise being a minimum of 10 million."

Alan almost choked himself on his own breathe when he heard the starting price but then again it was reasonable in his opinion.

A mega stone was not an one use item.

Once the bond between the trainer and the pokemon reached a certain level and the pokemon was strong enough, it could go beyond its limits and Mega evolve into something more stronger.

So far Alan had only seen three mega stones in real life, and the one he was seeing was on of the three.

First one was the one his mother had while the second on was his fathers.

By now he was sure his parents had some secret that they were trying to hide but he never asked about it since if they did not tell him, it would mean either it is too big a secret to be said out loud or he was not ready yet.

Alan turned to Eve and at the same time, Eve turned towards Alan. They both thought about the same thing and nodded their heads.

They were going to achieve the power of Mega Evolution and explore its limits by themselves.

Just the thought of it brought excitement to Alan and as if sensing the fluctuations in his Aura, the egg that was in his hands gave a small shake.

"Yes, I will explore the secrets of Mega Evolution with you as well."
