The Honey Trap.

"Dodge it and use Confusion."

Alan gave command from the side as he saw the Fearow dive towards them. He had already noticed the strongest Fearow using Focus Energy, but he decided to ignore it for now and focus on the one who seemed reckless enough to fight them alone.

The first new move learnt by Eve was Confusion. Though it was not strong individually, it had a great secondary effect, and that was to leave its opponent in a confused state. Even if the secondary effect had a 10% chance to take effect, this would rise by 10% every time their mastery of the move increased.

Eve dodged the Drill Run easily with her speed and then gathered the Psychic energy for her next move.

Her eyes shone purple before releasing a telekinetic wave towards the Fearow. It did some damage, but it was not enough to leave it in a confused state.

"Use Confusion again."

Eve kept dodging Fearow's Drill Runs and responded with Confusion each time, and on the fifth, it finally started to show its effects.

Alan nodded and then asked Eve to use Confusion again and follow it with another new move that Eve had learned.

"Use Confusion."

Eve looked at Fearow, who was again using a Drill Run and opened her mouth as Psychic energy started gathering before it was released straight towards Fearow.

Fearow took the attack head-on, and this time, Confusion left him confused. Alan knew this was the best opening and decided to try the next move.

"Use Swift."

Eve shone with a bright light that gathered in the shape of stars before it reached Fearow, who was flying around, confused about what to do. Eve spammed the Swift as much as she could and kept hitting the poor Fearow.

He took a direct hit from the Swift, adding more injuries on top of what he received from the Hyper Beam, leaving him sprawled on the ground.

Even though they had just won, Alan and Eve did not drop their guard or celebrate their win. There were still three more Fearows flying over them, and this time, the two Level 28 Fearows came towards them.

'Why is he not attacking?' wondered Alan since the leader was still not participating in the fight. Alan could not understand why until he saw the smug look on his face.

'This little shit is enjoying this.'

Alan was pissed off at the Fearow, but he could not do anything about it yet since the other two Fearows were upon them.

"Eve, use Dig and then Calm Mind."

Alan thought of different plans and ways to win against these two Fearows while not taking much damage so Eve could face the leader without much disadvantage.

The Fearows tried to hit Eve with a double Wing Attack, but they missed her by a small margin as she used Dig to escape them. She immediately used Calm Mind while staying underground and increased her Special Attack.

"Use Work Up."

Eve did as Alan told and waited for the next orders but what Alan said surprised her.

"Use Shadow Ball."

She was smart enough to know that Ghost-type attacks won't work on Fearows, and that was why she could not understand why Alan would use them. But she knew Alan better than anyone else, and she knew how his brain worked in weird ways when it came to fights. Having complete trust in her partner, Eve jumped out of the ground with two oversized Shadow Balls, ready to be released.

"What are they doing? They should know that Ghost-type moves do not work on a Fearow, right?" Misty asked while looking at Shin.

Unlike Eve, Misty thought that Alan had gone insane as he used a move that would not affect the opponent. Shin did not even respond to her since he knew Alan and Eve were not dumb like the girl near him.

Misty read Shin's expression, and her lips again twitched in anger.

What Misty thought was right. No one would use an ineffective move against their opponent since trainers and their Pokémon knew about type advantages and disadvantages.

But did the wild Pokémon who never left a small forest know about them? Maybe, but it was not the case with these Fearows since they stopped their attacks mid-way after seeing a large Shadow Ball filled with Ghost0type energy making its way towards them.

"Charge the Hyper Beam."

Eve gave a small smile, and orange Normal-type energy gathered around her mouth.

Hyper Beam had become her favourite move so far, and why wouldn't it? It was strong, and there was also the 'cool' factor.

The Fearows tried to dodge the Shadow Ball but were too late. They thought they would take serious damage, but all it did was pass through them, leaving behind not even a scratch.

By the time they understood they were duped, Eve used Psychic to hold them in one place before she ran towards them.

She had an evil grin on her face as she looked at the Fearows trying to struggle out of her Psychic.

[Take this] she said in Pokémon language and released her Hyper Beam at a point-blank range.

*Boom*

An orange beam of energy was once again seen in the forest as it passed through trees, destroying everything in its way.

After the aftermath settled, an enormous gulf was seen in the forest with burn marks all around it.

[It uses too much energy] said Eve as she felt almost half of her energy being sucked away by that Hyper Beam.

"But it is worth it."

[True, but we have one more bird to take care of]

"Then we have to lure him into a honey trap," said Alan with a sly smile, and Eve just cringed at the idea but decided to go with it since they had to win this fight. It would be the hardest one so far, and she was ready to use 'them' for this once.

*Screech*

The Fearow could not believe his three lackeys were taken down by Eve so easily, and he showed a furious expression. He finally decided to take Eve a bit seriously as she had proved to be a strong Pokémon.

With a loud screech, he dived towards Eve with a Take Down.

"Eve, use Dig once again and then Calm Mind followed by Work Up and Agility."

The plan Alan had in mind needed Eve to be at her strongest since the opponent now was too strong, and with the amount of energy Eve was left with after two Hyper Beams; they had to make sure this fight came to an end quickly.

The Fearow was pissed at how Eve had slipped away after using Dig.

He looked around for Eve, but when he saw no clue where she was, he decided to attack Alan instead.

'Does he think I am easy to beat?'

Alan waved his hand, and Fearow felt a tug in one of his wings, and his flight was interrupted as he fell to the ground due to imbalance. Alan had used Psychic to disturb Fearow's flight and kept his distance.

Eve by now, was almost ready for 'it' as well, and Alan decided to move ahead with his plan.

"Come out and use Mud-Slap. Aim for the eyes," not a strong move, but it serves its purpose.

Eve waited for the right time and appeared out before throwing some mud straight onto Fearows eyes.

*Screech*

As strong as he was, Fearow was annoyed by the Mud-Slap and decided to randomly fly around, rubbing his eyes to get the dirt off him.

"Once again, Calm Mind, Work Up and Agility."

With this, Eve had raised her Special Attack, Special Defence, and Attack raised by six stages each.

'This is the maximum Eve can boost herself right now, but it is enough," thought Alan with an evil grin, "Eve, begin operation Honey Trap."

Eve shuddered at the thought but decided to do it for this once [you better get chocolate cakes or else next Hyper Beam will be up your...]

"Ok, ok, I will do as you say," Alan raised his hands as if surrendering to her threat, and he actually was. He believed Eve would totally do it for the chocolate cake.

[And this is the last time I am doing it for fuck's sake,] she said with an annoyed face, but her face immediately changed expressions.

Fearow was done with removing the mud from his eyes, and when he turned to look at his opponent, he paused midway and did not do anything.

Eve used an attack that even Alan, her Blood Bond, had difficulty getting past.

Fearow's angry expression changed, and it soon turned into one that was of someone who wanted to...repent?

'Eve used Baby-Doll Eyes,' thought Alan in his mind, 'it was super-effective.'

Eve's eyes were glittering innocently as she looked at Fearow, who was...angry again...but at himself? How could he try to attack something this cute?

But that was not the end of the Honey Trap, but just the beginning.

Now that Fearow had walked into the trap, Eve made a helpless expression before tears started flowing out of her eyes.

Seeing the tears coming out of her eyes, the Fearow immediately lost it and...said...sorry? Was he trying to stop the Fake Tears?

'Fearow is totally into her...' thought Alan while shaking his head, '...but who could blame him? No one can get past Eve's cuteness.'

He, too, had been coaxed into buying a lot of chocolate cakes using the same combo the Fearow was attacked with.

'But poor soul, this is not even the end...' with a slight pity, Alan looked at Fearow, who was about to face the last part of the Honey Trap.

Eve stopped her Fake Tears and gracefully walked towards the Fearow, one step at a time, her body swaying as she moved.

Alan looked at the Fearow and sighed, 'another one bites the dust.'

Fearow was 'Charm'ed by Eve, and Alan could see the hearts in his eyes. Misty, who was watching all this from afar, could not help but rub her eyes as she looked at the scene folding before her eyes.

"Is it even a battle anymore?" she questioned as she looked at Eve, who had 'Charm'ed the Fearow and not the poor bird was flying around her, trying to impress her with his giant wings.

[My big sister is extremely beautiful, unlike the big one here] said Shin with a high nose while giving a cross-eye to the Gyarados.

"You!"

Misty wanted to kill the little devil right now, but she did not want to be ungrateful. Shin was truly testing her patience. Even the Gyarados was annoyed by the little Pokémon in front of her but decided to follow her trainer's instructions.

'I will keep a note of this,' thought Gyarados; a woman's revenge was better served cold.

On the other side, the Fearow was trying to fly around Eve, showcasing himself so that he could impress her.

[Just how desperate could you be?] said Eve before looking at Alan with dark eyes.

"You can finish this one," said Alan with a weak smile before Eve got to work.

Her tail started glowing in silver light, and she jumped into the air before smashing it into the back of her 'lover.'

"Time to end this for good," said Alan as he too was tired of seeing the Fearow run around Eve like a helpless fool, "use Stored Power."

According to Alan, Stored Power was a cheat that should not exist. The amount of damage a Pokémon could do with this move was way too much to even think of. Eve, who had gone for a maximum stat boost possibly for her yet with Calm Mind, Work Up, and Agility, could dish out a ridiculous amount of damage.

Eve who had been waiting for this moment, raised her head high into the air before her whole body was surrounded by harsh light. All the energy stored within her was gathered in front of her mouth, just like Hyper Beam, but the air surrounding her started vibrating by the sheer amount of destructive power behind that move.

By the time Fearow felt pain from Iron Tail and woke from the effects of Charm, Eve was right beside him with an energy beam charged at full strength.

[Annoying] she said those words before she fired off the Stored Power.

Unlike Hyper Beam's orange colour, the Stored Power was a menacing purple, attributed to it being a Psychic-type move.

Eve did not wait for even a second and fired off the attack straight towards Fearows face.

Before it could even compute what was going on, the poor Fearow saw a purple beam of energy coming its way, destroying everything around it.

*BOOM*

Alan, as well as Misty, who was watching this from afar, knew what would be the result of this point-blank Stored Power. By the time the dust cloud settled, another long gulf was created in the ground, and right in the gulf laid a Fearow who still could not believe what had just happened.

Alan was surprised that it still had some life left, even after that point-blank Stored Power.

'Level difference is not easy to surmount; it is only thanks to our higher stage moves that we could even fight with this Fearow,' thought Alan as he saw the Fearow struggling to get up.

Alan walked towards Eve, struggling to stand and picked her up in his arms.

"You did a great job," he said while petting her head.

[He is still not down] she said as she eyed her opponent.

"Leave this to me," he placed Eve on the ground, and Shin immediately came close to her and stood by her side, "protect your Big sis," said Alan with a smile before walking towards the Fearow.

"Nothing much I have to say to you," he gathered Aura around his fist and charged towards the Fearow, who was trying his best to get up but could not.

*Bang*

Alan smashed his fist in Fearows face, planting him into the ground.

"This should be enough," he said when he saw Fearow no longer getting up.

He took out a Pokeball and captured all the Fearows they had defeated, along with their leader. Once he was done with capturing all the Fearows and Spearows, he made his way towards Eve who was using Rest to recover from her injuries.

Alan decided not to disturb her and dotingly rubbed her head before recalling her to the Pokeball.

He was about to do something else but he then remembered something and decided to check Eve's status after the fights she had gone through.

A pleasing smile appeared on his face as he saw the results.

'She level up, and twice at that.'
