Youth cup preliminaries-2

Master trainer Zeno Argea was Aoki's first opponent.

A pale-skinned 22-year-old guy.

He was not too tall and had brown curly hair and a band to hold his hair in place.

Aoki searched about him a bit during their break and found that he was a finalist for last year's Indigo conference and lost to Alex.

He had a team of six Pokemons in which the noteworthy Pokemon were Milotic, Venusaur, and a Dragonite.

Aoki didn't strategize much as it would not be needed.

During the break, he talked with Brock a bit but mostly hung out with Misty and Sabrina.

At one point he saw Fonsi and Alex competing against each other as to who can eat more bowls of ramen, gathering quite an audience but in the end, both of them ate an equal number of bowls.

'Hope Alex doesn't upset his stomach again '.

Even the elite four came to take a stall alas they were surrounded by people asking for photos and autographs not letting them enjoy themselves at all.

Lance did the smart thing and flew away somewhere on his Dragonite and returned back just before the match started.

"Ladies and gentlemen, welcome back to the preliminaries of the youth tournament!!

The following matches will decide the top 8 trainers among whom three will represent the Kanto region in the main tournament going to be held in the Unova region.

With a huge round of applause, welcome Aoki from Orange town and Zeno from Vermillion City !!!!"

Both the trainers took their places with the grass-type field in between them.

"The trainers will call out three of their Pokemon at the same time. The trainer who has their last Pokemon standing will be the winner "

"Begin !!!"

As Aoki predicted, Zeno pulled out his Dragonite, Milotic, and Venusaur.

Who took their place in the air, front, and back respectively.

'Interesting' Aoki thought seeing one of his Pokemon.

A lot of people were impressed by his lineup, especially his shiny Venusaur.

'Let's give the audience a spectacular performance'

Clicking three Pokeballs on his belt, he called out his three Pokemon.

He chose Charizard, Victreebel, and Nidoking.

Professionals were immediately attracted to Aoki's Pokemons due to their abnormal size and deep color.

Zeno made the first move and gave his Pokemon a series of commands.

"Dragonite set up a thunderstorm".

Dragonite flapped his wings at full power and summoned a storm and flew high to create thunder.

"Milotic assist him, use Rain dance"

Venusaur use seed bombs at three of them and coat your vines in poison ready for attack.

All of you be ready to use protect any time "

In the elite four section, everyone had their own viewpoint on the direction of the match.

"I bet on this Zeno guy…

His strategy of creating a thunderstorm is very good as two of the opponent's Pokemon were weak to water moreover Dragonite had a very good mastery over lightning so the attacks will hit hard" Lorelei said not yet knowing the identity of Aoki.

"I bet on the other guy…

If you look carefully, he hasn't even made a move yet and still has that smile…the smile of confidence. All three of his Pokemon are brimming with muscles, especially the Charizard. That trainer is special…" Bruno said.

Agatha was not so interested in the match while Lance was looking at the Charizard and Dragonite whom he expected to clash.

Seeing the storm getting larger, Aoki started to make his move.

" Charizard use miniature Sun and Dragon Dance.

Victreebel use miniature Sun and target the Milotic.

Nidoking use ice coating and go target the Venusaur.

No holding back… destroy your opponent "

Aoki commanded as every second the storm got worse.

The use of miniature Sun made the elite four surprised.

It was a condensed form of Sunny Day that only covered a small area around the Pokemon reducing the chances of being canceled by the weather condition that was around.

In the field, three battles started simultaneously, shown on the screen using three cameras.

Charizard completed Dragon dance and flew towards Dragonite at his full speed tearing through the storm effortlessly.

Charizard used Dragon Claw and attacked Dragonite who responded with Dragon Claw too but immediately lost the confrontation taking massive damage.

Dragonite felt an immense threat from Charizard and used Thunder whose power was amplified due to the thunderstorm summoned.

Rumble !!

Charizard opened his mouth and released his strongest dragon pulse which collided with the Thunder.

Boom!

A large explosion covered the sky with a loud sound making people cover their ears.

'Impossible!.. '

Now Dragonite was shocked as Charizard dealt with the attack effortlessly that so many Pokemons went down to.

Charizard grinned seeing Dragonite's reaction

Dragonite abandoned the storm and immediately gathered all his energy for his strongest attack.

'Outrage'

'You call this outrage ?!

Let me show you what real Outrage looks like!!'

Charizard roared as even more wild Dragon-type energy was released from his body.

Boom!!

The clash of two Dragons caused so much energy fluctuations that the entire storm was erased giving a clear view of the sky above the field that was dyed in a bluish-purple color.

Just like Charizard, Aoki's other Pokemon were dominating the battle too.

Milotic was very good at Water and Ice based attacks but its power got weaker every second due to the influence of Victreebel's tri-powder attack which has gotten more effective over time.

Victreebel destroyed every move Milotic threw at him effortlessly, making Zeno panic every passing second.

Boom!

A point-range Solar beam hit Milotic making it faint and ending the round.

Lastly, Nidoking went wild on Venusaur with his physical attacks. Nidoking was fast enough to dodge most of Venusaur's attacks and tank the rest of the attacks.

With the amount of training Nidoking had done with Victreebel, he knew how to get rid of Stuns spore and poison spore.

Venusaur used the earthquake multiple times but Nidoking responded back with an even stronger earthquake.

During the entire fight, Nidoking and Victreebel didn't let their opponent help each other, making it easier to deal with them.

Zeno tried his best to command the two Pokemon that were on the land as Dragonite was too far to hear him but all of his commands proved to be futile.

In the face of pure power, his strategy didn't work.

Boom!

A strong ice punch finished Venusaur who earlier got hit with a blizzard.

Boom!

Another explosion occurred as Dragonite crashed on the ground near Venusaur and could not stand up again.

Within three minutes, all three of Zeno's Pokemon were down.

"That was a breathtaking performance from both sides but trainer Aoki took the glory with his team taking down all three of the opponent's Pokemon simultaneously.

Give a massive round of applause for the winner Aoki !!!!"

The audience cheer and clapped loudly and called his name as Aoki left the stadium after shaking hands with Zeno who tried to maintain a smile but clearly frustrated.

A lot of trainers had not paid much attention to Aoki during the earlier round assuming it was all Sabrina's doing but this round made it clear how dangerous of an opponent Aoki was.

He totally crushed his opponent with an overwhelming force they never expected.

'Grandpa was telling the truth, after all, this guy is a monster..' Gary thought.

The match's outcome surprised Lorelei too as she lost the bet to Bruno who had a scary smile.

"The Charmander I gave out as a starter has grown a lot…." Professor Oak commented.

"Was this Charmander similar to the one you gave to Red? the one with the very high potential?" Lance asked.

"No, it was normal Charmander I received from the Charasific Valley. To be able to take that Charmander to this level of power in such a short time…..I severely underestimated him. " Oak said.

"Seems like someone would be soon coming after my seat. With his strength, he was a high chance of winning the event. I don't think his identity will be hidden much longer " Lance

"Why don't you ask him if he wants to stop hiding his identity? I don't think he will have any problem as he is strong enough to protect himself. " Agatha said.

"I will ask him before the event ends, " Oak said.

"What are you people talking about?" Lorelei asked.

"If you use your narcissistic mind properly, you would have realized that Aoki was professor Gunhildr from the conversations," Bruno said.

"Eh?"

Meanwhile, in the hallway, Alex confronted the person he was waiting for.

"What are you making that face for ?! the guy who you lost to had defeated me months ago on his first try, there should be no remorse for losing to a monster," Alex said to Zeno.

"Hah! We are on the same page.

I trained so hard after being defeated in the league and even managed to evolve my Dragonair to a Dragonite but I became overconfident in having a pseudo-legendary. "

"So what do you plan to do now? "

"I was in Jhoto collecting badges when the notification came for the event. I will be going back and participating in the league. "

"Let's have a drink after this event is over "

"Sure"

After Aoki's Match, all the other matches continued with interesting twists and turns.

Many trainers had Pokemon that were not native to the Kanto region so people got to see some interesting Pokemon that they don't see normally.

At the end of the day, all the people Aoki knew won their rounds except Jill as a trainer that specialized in electric types defeated her team.

The trainer was named Kamia and had a team of Electabuzz, Raichu, and his ace Luxray.

He had the ends of his hair dyed yellow with bracelets on his hands. He had some fancy glasses that looked like a guitar.

His Raichu was many times stronger than Jill's and comparable to Surge's Raichu that Aoki fought against months ago.

His Luxray took care of Blastoise while the Electabuzz took care of Magmar. The later fight was very entertaining and got both of them a lot of praise.

Alas, Jill's entire team was wiped out with Kamia not losing any.

Jill was pretty upset but Alex was there to console her.

It was undeniable that Jill was a very talented trainer, to be able to gather such a team and take them to their final evolution in such a short time was not something to be scoffed at.

Aoki was sure Alex's family would accept Jill after today's performance.

Aoki remained at the top spot for finishing the earliest in 3 minutes followed by Sabrina in 5 minutes, Alex, Fonsi, and Misty around 10 minutes.

With all the matches done, the final matches would be taking place tomorrow where the representatives of Kanto will be decided.

There were the matchups that would be happening tomorrow.
