A Special Visitor

"Ngh..." I groaned as I awoke after sleeping for who knew how long.

The first thing I noticed when I awoke was that EVERYTHING hurt. My muscles ached, my bones creaked, and my head was thundering as if it were being jack hammered by a group of Machamp. The second thing I noticed though, when I opened my eyes, was a small feline-like face covered in fine pink fur looking down on me.

"Mew?" It cooed while tilting its head cutely.

"Well hello there." I said back to it, even as my mind tried to process what was happening.

"Mew mew!" It replied, telling me good morning before shifting its position in the air above me.

At first it had been looking at me upside down, so all I could see was its head, but as it shifted I could see the rest of it clearly. It was only a couple of feet tall, and had a thin long tail that was at least double its height in length with a small bulb on the end.

Of course I recognized this Pokemon instantly, and would've thought I was dreaming if not for the pain I could still feel in my body. It was none other than THE Legendary Pokemon, considered by most to be the strongest and rarest in the world, and worshipped more than any other as the ancestor of all Pokemon. Mew.

Even as I stared at it in shock, Mew slowly lowered itself until it was sitting on my bed all while continuing to stare at me as well, as if studying me.

"Mew?"

"I'm Ace." I replied as it asked who I was, before holding my hand out with a finger extended.

Mew accepted the offered finger in one of its own incredibly tiny paws, and I raised my hand in a gesture like a handshake with it, raising it off of the bed before lowering a couple times as I did so.

"Mew mew mew~!" Mew giggled as if it were having fun, which tacked with what I knew about it.

From what I recalled, Mew was mischievous, playful, and child-like to the point that it rarely took anything seriously. But that also begged the question, what was it doing here?

"If you want to play, I have some toys for Pokemon in my bag." I told it.

"Mew?" It asked curiously, before flying over to my bag to investigate. I watched in amusement as its entire upper body disappeared inside as it dug around for something to play with.

"Mew?" It asked curiously while holding up a jar of the honey I'd harvested from Vespiquen the other day.

"It's honey. It tastes really good."

"Mew? Mew mew!"

Seemingly knowing what I was talking about, Mew excitedly flew over to me with the jar, as if expecting me to open it for it.

"That's...." I grimaced since my entire body was still in quite a bit of pain.

"Mew?" It asked while tilting its head curiously, before I saw realization in its eyes.

"Mew!" Declaring such, Mew touched the tip of its tail against my forehead as I felt a strange and powerful energy flow into my body.

From that point of contact, I felt a prickly and itchy sensation spread throughout my entire body, from my head down to my toes. The sensation only lasted a second or two though, leaving behind only soothing relief.

"Huh." I uttered in both surprise and awe that Mew had healed me like that.

"Mew?" It asked to get my attention back to it as it lifted the jar up for me to open.

"Yeah, I'll open it for you." I said with a wry smile.

For the next twenty minutes or so Mew and I enjoyed eating some honey, drinking some Miltank milk, and playing with the Pokemon toys I had in my backpack. I knew that I should probably let the girls know I was awake, but I think having Pokemon Jesus in my room took a little precedence.

But soon I heard a commotion outside my door as several auras, most belonging to the girls while there were three I didn't recognize, approached. Accompanying those auras were numerous voices, again I recognized those belonging to the girls, but the main one talking back to them was one that I felt like I could recognize, but couldn't place.

"Please sir! Ace is still asleep!" I heard Joy tell the man as she seemingly tried to keep him from entering.

"Well he needs to wake up! I have questions, and other places to be!" Declared the other voice, one belonging to a man, before the door was thrown open to reveal who it was.

"Champion Lance?!" I uttered in shock, as the Champion of both the Kanto and Johto regions barged into my temporary room.

"Oh? Looks like you AREN'T asleep after all." Lance stated when he saw me sitting in bed, toys scattered around me as I played with a...Meowth...?

I cocked a brow at the 'Meowth' as it just smiled and mewled cutely at me.

Little fucker.

"""ACE!"""

The girls meanwhile rushed me when they saw I was awake, apparently choosing to ignore the random Meowth for the moment.

"Hey everyone." I said to them, before being assaulted with a group hug. "What's the rush?" I asked them with confusion.

"You idiot! You were out for two days!" Misty declared, to which I had no retort.

Damn. Mega Evolving a Legendary Pokemon was no joke.

Either that, or Gengar sapped all of my energy when I wasn't looking. But I was more inclined to believe it was the former.

"I guess I needed the rest." I joked wryly, resulting a series of punches and pinches from the girls at how lightly I tried to take the situation.

As I received their abuse though, I also looked over the other three that had come to see me. Lance was surprising enough, but there was also a couple a more faces that were familiar, one only from television. The first was the old hag from the Elite Four along with Lance, Agatha, while the other was a Gym Leader from Johto, Morty.

Now I think I got what was going on. As the two leading ghost type specialists of the regions, Agatha and Morty were probably here to make sure everything on the spiritual level was going like it should. Lance meanwhile was the Champion of both Johto and Kanto, so he would obviously be expected to make an appearance after one of the town's was literally destroyed.

But based off of how he was looking at me, there was more Lance wanted to do than check on the state of Lavender town.

"Ace Ketchum." He practically snarled at me, apparently tired of waiting for the girls to stop hugging me after my 'little' nap.

"Yes?" I answered despite my current position.

"There are a few things we need to discuss regarding this incident. I hope you aren't too....indisposed to do so."

"Of course not." I answered while trying to gently peel the girls off of me.

Though it was obvious to everyone they didn't want to, I managed to free my body from their hold and rose to follow Lance into a different room. Of course, I also picked up the 'Meowth' before I left, much to the girl's confusion.

The Champion led the way to one of the private rooms within the Pokemon Center, not unlike the one we'd held the digital meeting in before. This one however had a couple of couches with a coffee table set between them, which was covered in numerous plates of goodies.

*GRRRRRRR!*

My stomach practically roared at the sight of the food, while my mouth began to salivate so much that I had to check to make sure I wasn't drooling. Apparently not eating for two days will do that to you.

The Champion took a seat in the middle of one couch, while Agatha and Morty took their own seats on either side of him. Meanwhile I took the opposite seat on the other couch with the 'Meowth' in my lap, while both May and Dawn sat on either side of me. Misty took the chair to the side, while Joy began to set a plate that she hurriedly put in front of me.

"Thank Arceus." I said when she handed me the food, before I began to ravenously dig in.

"I'll get right to the point." Lance said as I began to eat, not holding my lack of mannerisms against me in the slightest judging by his exterior and aura. But what he said next made me pause as he asked,

"Where is Mewtwo?"

"..."

For a moment I didn't say anything as I slowly chewed the food that was still in my mouth, but when I swallowed I answered, "I honestly don't know."

I swear I saw a vein pulse on lance's forehead from my answer, but it was the truth.

"You don't know, or you don't want to say?" Lance asked me with a tense voice.

"Both. I honestly have no idea where he is, and even if I did I wouldn't say." I told him firmly, before proceeding to stuff more food in my mouth.

"I see..." Lance said slowly while taking a deep breath.

As he did that I passed some food to the disguised Mew, before explaining to him, "Regardless of what you may think, it's for the best that no one from the League meets Mewtwo unless he decides to come himself."

Lance looked at me sharply at that as he asked, "and why do you say that?"

I looked him square in the eye as I answered, "because he'll know that you only plan to use him as a weapon."

Lance flinched slightly when I mentioned that, which I suspected was why he wanted to meet Mewtwo so badly.

"I can confidently tell you that Mewtwo is no longer aligned with Team Rocket, and is also not hostile towards humanity. THAT however is a VERY thin thread, which can snap at the slightest misstep. His opinion of us as a race is already in the gutter due to Team Rocket's influence, we don't need it to sink even lower."

As I finished speaking no one said anything for a few moments, before Morty asked me suddenly, "so are you saying it's hopeless to try and secure any assistance from this Mewtwo?"

"That depends entirely on the circumstances." I told him.

"Mewtwo left Team Rocket due to Giovanni only seeing and using him as his tool and weapon. If we expect the same from him, then it just means that there's no difference between them and us in his eyes. However, there are some circumstances that he might assist us of his own volition, like this previous incident."

I didn't even try to hide that Mewtwo was involved in this last incident, since Lance had probably heard it from numerous eye witnesses by now anyways. That was probably why he started by asking me about him.

"Very well then." Lance said eventually. "I'll give up on meeting him right away. However, I want you to tell him that I'd like a meeting whenever he's willing."

"..."

I just gave Lance a blank look at his request, before reluctantly nodding my head.

"I can't promise he'll accept, but I'll pass that message along if I see him anytime soon." I told him. It was the best I could do since I didn't see Mewtwo regularly after all.

"I'll appreciate it. Now for the next thing I wanted to discuss, is it true that you performed Mega Evolution with Mewtwo?" Lance asked in a grave voice.

"Yes." I answered plainly, as I'm pretty sure he'd already heard about that as well.

"""..."""

Not just Lance, but Agatha and Morty as well stared at me blankly from my admission, which I'm pretty sure they expected me to deny.

"It's actually possible for Legendary Pokemon to Mega Evolve...?" Morty uttered in disbelief.

"As if they needed to be more powerful." Agatha snorted, speaking for the first time since they arrived.

"This is...truly grave news..." Lance uttered, probably imagining all of the horrible scenarios of Mega Evolved Legendary Pokemon rampaging.

"If anyone with malicious intentions learned this..." Morty uttered fearfully, leaving his implication unsaid.

"I wouldn't worry about that." I immediately stated, drawing their attention back to me.

"I don't know too much about Mega Evolution myself, but just doing it with Mewtwo once rendered me comatose for two days. And I'd readily say I'm exceptional as far as people are concerned. It's entirely possible that if a normal person tried it, they will die."

Though I was tooting my own horn, I was only speaking the truth considering how much I'd trained and honed my body throughout this life. I didn't doubt that someone else without my training would have perished if they tried to Mega Evolve Mewtwo instead.

Surprisingly, Lance nodded in agreement as he stated, "Ace is right. Plus it's not like people who can even perform Mega Evolution grow on trees. Let's focus on the threats right in front of us instead of the ones that may or may not even exist."

Agatha nodded in affirmation to Lance's decision, while Morty also nodded in agreement after a second.

The entire time we had been speaking I had been snacking on the food that Joy brought me, while also sharing some with the disguised Mew in between head scratches. Lance and the other two didn't seem to care about me pampering the random 'Meowth', but the girls were all looking at it curiously.

I have to admit, part of me wondered what everyone would say if I outed Mew's real identity right here to all of them.

But I wouldn't do that, since it was obviously displaying a good deal of trust towards me by showing itself to me to begin with.

"By the way..." Lance said suddenly, interrupting my pampering the Legendary Pokemon as he asked with a gleam in his eyes, "may we see the rumored white chameleon you possess?"

I blink at the sudden shift within the Champion, as he changed from the serious and gloomy leader to someone reminding me of a child. Even his aura was betraying his obvious excitement at the prospect of seeing my incredibly rare and powerful Charmeleon.

The edge of my mouth curled upwards evilly.

"Alright, let's head out back." I told him while standing, still holding 'Meowth' in my arms as I did so.

There was a noticeable spring in Lance's steps as he followed along behind me, while everyone else filed out behind him with Joy bringing up the rear, a platter full of food in her hands. Bless her heart.

"As always, you can barely contain yourself when a dragon type or pseudo-dragon is involved." Agatha sneered while shaking her head.

"And? There's nothing wrong with being excited for something new. Especially when there seems to be so little things to get excited for these days." Lance replied to her, surprising me.

The image of Lance I had was that of an overly serious and irritable person, so I was surprised to see him like this just from the idea of meeting 'Charmeleon'.

"The Champion is always like this when it comes to dragon types or pseudo-dragons." Morty suddenly whispered in my ear, as if he'd known what I was thinking.

"Really? So why is he usually so grumpy?" I asked him under my breath. Morty just smirked though, before explaining,

"That because you're being tutored and sponsored by professor Oak, and Lance personally can't stand him."

"Something to share Morty?" Lance suddenly snapped at him, making Morty snap to attention as he said,

"Of course not sir!" But even as Lance grunted in affirmation at him, Morty shot a wink at me. He'd probably give me the rest of the story later.

We made our way outside to the arena in the back of the Pokemon Center, where I was unsurprised to find Lucario and Pidgeot both training, despite me saying to take some time off before. The kicker was that Chansey was with them as well, using Gravity on the both of them as they sparred intensely.

"Wow..." Morty uttered, seemingly impressed with my Pokemon's drive.

"Yep. Better get ready, cause we'll be coming for the League soon enough." I said to them, making Lance glower at me while Agatha leered menacingly.

The Champion's attitude shifted though as I held up one of my Pokeballs.

"Go." I said while tossing it out to release 'Charmeleon', only the one who came out instead was far larger than any of the three of them were expecting.

Charizard spread his wings out as he appeared from the Pokeball, the sun reflecting off his white scales to shimmer in a myriad of colors, before he released a torrent of fire into the sky that instantly heated the area around us.
