It seems that in the Pokeworld, a year has 18 months, named after every known typing of Pokemon. The days here are also measured the same as back on Earth.
In the month of 'Dark', which is the 16th month of the year, non-sapient Pokemons enter a trance state for the whole month and start attacking everything in their sight.
Every non-sapient Pokemon goes berserk whether it is wild or has a trainer.
It looks like not every Pokemon is intelligent as shown in the anime. Pokemons generally have animal-like intelligence and only develop sapience after a certain age in the case of wild Pokemons.
Any spotted wild Pokemons are seen in their final evolution forms with some outliers and the exception of psychic types, which tend to develop sapience quite easily when compared to others.
It seems that the mark of sapience is the formation of an energy barrier around the Pokemon which protects them from all harm.
The barrier disappears after a certain amount of damage is taken and the Pokemon faints for a short amount of time after the barrier is destroyed.
Yes, the fainted Pokemon has swirling eyes. I double-checked just in case. I abandoned searching more about the swirly eyes after seeing some reading words like 'Enerfluxe'.
During the Dark month after 10 days of committing Pokemurders- killing other Pokemon-the wild Pokemons stop attacking each other and gravitate towards any human settlement near them, almost as if they can sense the position of humans.
They kill every poor human whom they come across in the wild on their way to attack the human cities.
The yearly wave of murder happy Pokemons is named Surge. Which happens on the last 20 days of the Dark month.
Researchers noticed that every Pokemon on death releases a type of energy, death energy, that lingers around for a certain time before disappearing if not absorbed by other Pokemon, still leaving traces behind. And it seems the energy can only be absorbed by other Pokemon and only in the Dark month.
Researchers concluded that Pokemons that survive the Dark month and have killed at least one Pokemon near their power level or higher can live a whole year without any food intake.
Which is explained by the absorption of death energy.
But to grow, they still have to eat berries. This was the conclusion reached after isolating countless wild or trainer-owned non-sentient Pokemon.
Every Pokemon go through its baby stage where it is unable to use any moves. This stage lasts for a maximum of 10 days.
The period can still be reduced by feeding it berries or the famed moomoo milk. But the Pokemon which just exited its baby phase will be smaller in size when compared to their aged counterparts.
While watching the anime or reading any fanfics I always thought that realistically only the rich or influential can become trainers as individuals often try to hog power and, in this case, they hog the living definition of power- the creatures that can teleport, fly, spy, and has near unlimited strength or stamina.
Think about it. What is the use of a trainer in the anime except for obvious reasons such as security and entertainment, anyway?
If you ask me the answer is None.
You cannot say giving rocket launchers to civilians for entertainment is a great idea.
I mean even keeping aside the matter of food, why would anyone sell Pokeballs cheaply and how come a professor depends on rookies every year for data and even look after their Pokemon?
Why would anyone sponsor rookie trainers when members of their families can become more loyal trainers and provide better security?
Maybe some nice people want others to experience the joy of having a Pokemon. But one power-hungry guy in the correct place is more than enough to suppress 100 nice guys in his way.
Many direct and indirect manipulations such as quoting public security and the cost of Pokeball tech can be used to highly regulate Pokemons.
Thus, even making the chance of having a pet Rattata redundant for a common man.
Even in the children's anime, there are clans like champion Lance's monopolising certain Pokemon.
I mean I know I am talking about children's anime, so I ignored logic at that time.
But in this world, now my world, the constant threat of the Surge united people and made the loss of a talented trainer noticeable. Thus we(poor people or orphans) have the league's help.
The league sponsors rookie trainers to not miss any talented trainers. The cool or uncool thing- depending on my talent- is that the talent of a trainer is measurable in Pokeworld.
There are even grades assigned to trainers' talent from F to S which is private and cannot be legally shared by anyone except the trainer and Gym Leaders.
The time taken by a trainer's Pokemons to develop sapience and their growth is measured to grade a person's talent.
The word Aura was not mentioned anywhere on the net, but I think the talent talked about here is Aura.
As I was mulling over whether there were any Aura-users around, my earlier encounter with the kid came into my mind.
I flexed my hands and started typing and mumbled.
"Now let's see what in the Arceus white tail is an M.G.P(Main Growth Phase)."
It seems that the M.G.P. aka the Main growth phase is experienced by an 8-year-old child, in which the physical and mental(reasoning, memory) growth is very quick.
A child first experiences physical growth for a year followed by another year of mental growth.
After 2 years the child enters S.G.P ( Secondary Growth Phase) where the development of reproductive organs occurs aka earth puberty.
After reading about the S.G.P., I ran towards the nearest screen of a switched-off Pokesystem to get a better look at myself.
After entering the Pokemon Centre, I saw my reflections briefly and I didn't notice much change except my lack of muscles and facial hair.
But now staring at myself on the computer screen, I noticed the absence of my Adam's apple and swallowed.
'At least my facial structure is the same' I thought.
I imagined some sexy scenarios for some time to see whether I still have hormones. But my little soldier didn't rise for battle.

'I have more important things to do' I thought and started downloading the last few year's question papers of the trainers' license exam and J.I.E.
And I read an article named 'How to be a trainer' on the terminal.
The trainers' license exam is supposed to be easy with 90% of exam takers passing.
The article even had important topics and questions linked to it. But it seems that the J.I.E. is all about memorisation. There were no repeated topics, or topics in this case, and questions are always facts like the square meters of Toise city, which is not a popular city.
They have provided 5 books each 300 pages with each book consisting of 10,000 MCQs.
So, I have to remember 50,000 MCQs in two weeks to write an exam with 30 questions.
I despaired and started preparing for the J.I.E Exam, my eyes glowing which went unnoticed by me.
Oh, I also searched the champion list to know whether Ash was there. And I came across Red the champion for a year and he last appeared publicly over a decade ago.
Pewter City has Brock as Gym Leader and Cerculean has Leader Misty.
With Brock now trending as he cleverly repelled 3 Tyranitors in the recent Surge.
I only remember some of the secondary characters of Kanto due to some fanfics I read.
Koga is retired from Elite Four, Erica is also a gym leader and Oh, Blue is also the Gym Leader of Viridian.
The Kanto Title of Pokemon professor is still with Samuel Oak. And it seems that only one professor from a region can be called the Pokemon professor.
With well-established relations between several regions, there are only a handful of people with the title of Pokemon Professor. And it looks like he doesn't give away Pokemon starters to the Public.
