207 CH76 (206), Moving Things Around

(Heads-up warning!)

When Utopia began to expand Kun's/Azuraid's habitat after I left on Grouday evening, I did not think too much about it, since that was something that had happened after each evolution, even if it nearly tripled the size of the habitat.

I mean it made sense to me since I had noticed before that flying types belonged to the category that got the biggest habitats among those of the same stage, followed by water-bound water types.

However, now, two days later, I had this sudden urge to change Utopia's layout that I did not have before.

After my Pokemon had reached the silver stage the size of the habitats had ballooned quite a bit compared to before but I had chosen to leave the distribution as it had been while they were at the bronze stage.

Yet, now, that same format looked less appealing from the bird's view I had access to as the owner of Utopia, and it all began with a whack to the noggin I received during the spar against one of the Sawk Mr. Koetsuji brought to our "Combat Preparation" lesson.

No idea why, but that hit besides making me marvel at the diversity of sparring partners Mr. Koetsuji kept bringing to the lesson, also made me think about Utopia's layout.

So, while I was sparring against Sawk my second thought stream began considering if I should change the habitat arrangement. I considered things like my current Pokemon and their terrains, as well as their size, before contemplating possible future additions.

Ultimately, I decided to do it once I was home, before committing my full attention to the sparring. This brings us to the here and now. I was currently chilling on my sofa, taking a bird's eye view of Utopia, while thinking about how to best change the positions of the habitats.

I told everyone inside that they could possibly experience some shaking and feel some vibration, but not to worry about it. Oh, and to stay in their own area as well as not to panic when their habitats began to move.

Anyway, I decided to keep the ring format I currently had, with my personal area as well as my home in the center, and the habitats in a circle around it. So, I first moved all habitats away from the center area. They moved through the void, which was kinda cool since they looked like floating islands and lakes.

However, there was no way I could leave it this way since no one would be able to leave their habitats like this. They would practically be isolated and there was no way I would do that to my beloved Pokemon.

I could actually feel their fascination regarding everything that was happening right now. Anyway, back to the task, since there actually were no real cardinal directions inside Utopia due to obvious reasons, it was up to me to decide which direction was what.

So, I moved Horus/Xatu's area towards the main one and specified his location as the northern direction. The reason I moved Horus's area first was not just because he was my first Pokemon, but because I decided to make the whole first ring into a forest area.

That meant only habitats with a forest terrain would be added to the first ring. Still, despite the whole ring being a forest, each area had a different energy concentration. Horus's area was full of psionic and flying/air energy, and speaking of him, the guy moved over to my area and landed on the roof of my house.

Probably cause it was a good vantage point to look at what was happening. Anyway, I moved Mothra/Butterfree's area to the right of his, connecting all three landmasses to each other. Mothra's forest had bug, flying, and psionic energy in the environment, which was why I choose to place it next to Horus's area.

The reason Mothra's forest had psionic energy was that she had brought her psionic affinity to the same standard as her regular affinities, and her having those three made her a good bridge between the forests of Horus and Optimus/Butterfree.

Obviously, that was the habitat I moved next to her area. Part of her area and a major part of Optimus's forest was directly located in the western direction, at least the one I set as the western direction. His habitat had bug and flying energies, which were the same ones Shino/Yanmega had, so I moved that one next to his.

I tried to somewhat link up the forests energy-wise, so the area I moved next to Shino's was Parvati's habitat. Roughly half of hers and Shino's area ended up right opposite Horus's area so in the southern direction.

Her forest had bug and poison energy in the environment, and obviously, Prime/Beedrill's area had the same energy make-up, so I moved his area next to hers.

A part of his area, along with Hashirama/Ivysaur's whole area, and a part of Gaia/Nidoqueen's area ended up to the east of my area. The reason it ended up like that was that Hashirama's area was a bit too small due to his "low" stage, so the other areas moved in to fill the gap.

I placed Hashirama beside Prime since I thought he fit pretty well into the theme. His area had poison and grass energy and Gaia's area, which I placed next to his, had poison and ground energy.

I obviously placed Seb/Nidoking's habitat beside hers, and it also connected to Horus's area, which completed the first ring. Honestly, the size of their areas would not have been enough to fill the gap in Horus's area, due to their species not needing that much space.

Thankfully, I had fused the empty area left behind by Titan/Nidoking and Titania/Nidoqueen into Gaia and Seb's areas, so they matched the size of Horus, Mothra, and the others.

The whole first ring had a surface area of roughly 2 million m² or 2 km², which might sound like much at first, but it both was and wasn't that large.

While it certainly was much, much larger than the sizes I had available at the start, it was still smaller than the combination of two or three of the larger empty plots I had from improving the potential of my parent's Pokemon.

Still, I was planning to add those empty plots to the outermost ring, since their only use was being used for mock battles and move training. Everyone could train their moves there without having to worry about destroying their homes.

Anyway, with the completion of the first ring, I began working on the second ring. I first moved the pond/lake of Stan/Gyarados above Horus's area. As the only normie among my Gyarados, Stan's pond had water and flying energy in it.

I moved Tatsumaki's habitat, which was a grassland with a few sparse trees and a whole lot of psionic energy, next to his habitat. Besides her, I placed Ali/Ralts's habitat, which was a grassland just like hers, that had psychic and fairy energy in the environment.

Honestly, the next one placed besides Ali only because of his final evolution. I moved Tyson/Machoke besides Ali's area since the fighting energy in his grassland would mesh well with Gallade's energy in the future. Tyson's area ended up right above Optimus's area.

After these three grasslands came another pond/lake and the lucky one ended up being Kun/Azuraid. His area was for the most part above Shino's area, with a small part being above Optimus's plot. Just like Stan's habitat, Azuraid's habitat also had water and flying energy in it.

Next up came Mars/Ursaring's habitat, which was a forest filled with normal/neutral energy. Besides that one, I placed Enji/Growlithe's area, which was a grassland and savannah mix filled with fire energy.

To be honest, I would have liked to keep up the theme, but that was not possible in this case, so what followed was Luna's habitat, which was a "mountain" with a cave system in it.

The mountain was not that high yet, but it would grow in height when the area grew in size. Obviously, the area was full of fairy energy. The area that followed was the pond/lake belonging to Medusa/Gyarados. It was located partly above Prime and Hashirama's areas. Her habitat was full of water and poison energy.

What followed were three mountain areas. Directly next to Medusa's area came Moka/Crobat's habitat. It was a "mountain" surrounded by a forest kinda terrain. The "mountain" had a cave system in it that was not that extensive, and the whole habitat was full of poison and flying energy.

To its right was Saphira/Swablu's area, which just like Moka's habitat was also a "mountain" with a forest around it. This one actually did not even qualify as a "mountain" due to its small size, which was due to Saphira being only at the (high) iron stage.

There was no cave system inside the "mountain", just a pretty big room/lair, and the whole area was full of flying as well as normal energy. The final of the three "mountain" habitats was also the one that completed the second ring.

It belonged to Osiris/Marowak and the mountain was surrounded by a plain in the process of desertification. The "mountain" itself had an extensive tunnel system and the whole habitat was full of ground energy.

It connected to both Saphira's area and Stan's pond, closing the ring/circle. Its position was above Seb's habitat, which was partly me trying to keep up some form of theme.

After completing the second ring, I focused on the three ponds. I chose to connect them through a canal/stream that flowed between the border of the second and first ring.

The canal/stream was 3 meters wide and 5 meters deep, just enough to allow Medusa, Dilong, and Kun to swim freely inside, giving them the option to visit each other's habitats without having to leave the water.

It also provided all habitats in the first and second ring with a water source. Now, some people would say stop, is that not dangerous or unhealthy. The ponds are full of certain energies, with Medusa's pond having poison energy in it, so drinking that stuff does not seem like a smart thing to do.

Well, normally that would be true, but in this case, they would be underestimating Utopia. The stream/canal mouths all have some sort of energy filter, that keeps the type-specific energy inside the pond and only allows pure water to flow through the canal.

Tasty, clean, and slightly energy-rich water, but not "tainted" by any type of energy, except for the slight non-harmful amounts of water energy found in water.

After I made sure the stream/canal had a good flowing speed, and that the filter was working as intended, I focused on the third ring. The inhabited areas that were left were not enough to complete the third ring.

Heck, they only roughly filled half the ring and I filled the other half with some of the empty areas left by my parent's Pokemon. I combined Ignis/Gyarados, Ryujin/Gyarados, Jade/Gyarados, and Abyss/Gyarados's ponds and placed them above Moka, Saphira, Osiris, and Dilong's areas.

The super pond/lake obviously had water energy, but it was divided into areas that a certain type of second energy depending on the origin area, but Utopia made sure that the energy stayed in its own area. I made a canal between their lake and Dilong's pond to connect them to the canal/stream system.

On Abyss's right, I placed Nyx's grassland and besides that, I placed Thor and Hera's forests. That only left Abzu/Milotic, Tiamat/Milotic, and Manami/Lapras, so combined their ponds as well, which resulted in a lake with a relatively small iceberg on one end.

After placing the last of our habitats, I filled the rest of the ring with the empty ones. Then I proceeded to do the same for the fourth ring, and nearly managed to finish that one as well. This resulted in a really large training area.

With that done, my job was over and the relocation was complete, so I went inside Utopia to speak with everyone about the changes.
