200 CH69 (199), Going Around Visiting Friends (1)

Mom and dad left Arcday morning after we wished each other success. My term exams began, so I had five days of exams ahead of me. Thankfully, I only had three exams at most per day and after finishing the last exam I left the academy a happy man knowing that I had smashed all exams.

I now had the whole month/holiday for myself. That meant no lessons and no parents as well since they told me that they were going to visit the week after the holidays.

I had been thinking about the things I was going to do during this month all week, and I decided to stop by a few places for two or three days each week while spending the rest of the days at home.

Well, on Arcday, 04.13.2179, I called Jessica to inquire if she had time during the weekend. Unlike me, Jessica spent her holidays revising her lessons or reading through accompanying literature. If not that, then she was training her Pokemon with a focus on healing/supporting moves.

The amount of time she truly relaxed during the holidays was much less than the good doctor Mikail recommended, so I was trying to do some good by having her relax with me.

She consented and I told her I would meet her on Kyoday for breakfast. We talked a bit about random stuff, and after I hung up I quickly arranged myself a single hotel room for two days and one night at a hotel with a good reputation.

The three hundred Poke I had to pay for my short notice reservation was chump-change in my eyes, even if that was actually a respectable amount of money. That was the monthly (cold) rent some single civilian guys paid for a single room apartment in some cities.

My life as a pseudo-trainer so far had skewed my idea of cheap and expensive quite badly. With that long-overdue realization, I finished the booking and just shrugged. There was nothing I could do about that now.

Still, I made a mental note to open an account sometime after I started my journey that I would use for charity. I'd make sure the money went towards orphans and poor families that had trouble supporting their kids.

That together with the help and Pokemon I was, in the future, planning to provide to orphans that began their journey could be counted as my contribution to humanity. I'd probably broaden the range of my help when I became stronger, but that would have to wait until then.

I spent the days until Kyoday playing and training with my Pokemon while setting aside two to three hours daily for my personal training. Once Kyoday morning came around I had Horus teleport me to the PokeCenter closest to the Viridian City Gym.

Jessica and I had agreed to meet there since it was the PokeCenter she was interning in and pretty close to her dormitory. We agreed to meet there at 9:00 a.m but despite me arriving 10 minutes early, she was already there waiting for me.

"You're too early. How long have you been waiting?" I asked her before briefly hugging her as a greeting.

"Not long, I just arrived as well," Jessica replied after our brief hug.

"Great. I would have felt bad if I had made you wait for too long. I mean I came a bit early to avoid that. Anyway, this could be considered your turf, so I'll let you choose where we'll eat our breakfast." I passed the initiative to her and she patted her chest.

"Leave it to me, I know just the place. They have whatever one would want for breakfast and the price is decent as well, especially considering the big size of each portion," Jessica happily responded.

I could only nod since I could not tell her that the price was irrelevant without sounding arrogant. That was a slippery slope, one moment I could say things like the price does not matter, and the next I start addressing myself as this young master.

"Alright, lead the way, miss Joy. This one shall faithfully follow your lead." I quipped with a fake bow.

She giggled a bit before she began walking in a direction, toward the restaurant, cafe, or wherever she decided to lead me to. It took us nearly 10 minutes to arrive at the place Jessica wanted to eat breakfast at, and we talked about her time working at the PokeCenter while walking there.

The place she led us to was a bistro called "Torajiro's Bistro", and according to Jessica their best item was their crepes. While we were walking I managed to convince her to let me pay, so I saw no reason to hold back.

Once we took our seats I took a look at the menu. The waiter came to get our order, and I ordered three toasts as well as some a soda. Jessica ordered two crepes and hot chocolate. I had to order another soda since one proved to be insufficient, but other than that the food was good.

After we were done eating, I ordered two berry shakes to go before paying the bill. All in all, the tab was 44 Poke, so I paid 50 and we left after getting our shakes.

We strolled around the city and bought some Pokemon food for our Pokemon at a Pokemon-friendly diner. While mine had eaten their breakfast inside Utopia, I could hardly tell Jessica that.

Afterward, I let her lead the way, so we visited a few clothing stores and drugstores. We went to the local FC restaurant and ate some nice fried chicken fries for lunch.

To be honest, I would have gone to the local FP, but Jessie said that it tasted practically the same and was just more expensive, so we ate fried chicken, which was much cheaper, instead of fried Pidgey.

After our finger-licking good lunch, we stopped at a local park that had no Pokemon restriction, cause that was a thing, and lazed around for a while.

Jessie let out all of her Pokemon and I called out Horus/Xatu, Mothra/Butterfree, Nyx/Umbreon, Enji/Growlithe, Luna/Clefairy, Thor/Pikachu, Hashirama/Ivysaur, Ali/Ralts, and Saphira/Swablu.

Jessica released a squeal of delight when she saw Swablu and asked if she could hug her. Saphira gave the go-ahead, so she spent the next 20 minutes in Jessie's lap being thoroughly stroked and patted. We gave our Pokemon some lunch as well and Jessie fed Saphira herself.

The rest played with Jessie's Pokemon after eating their fill. Most of them knew each other, so mingling with each other was no problem. I took the chance to check her Pokemon. Her Arbok had not changed, it still had light blue potential and was at the (mid) silver stage.

Chansey's potential had not changed and was still light blue, but her stage had improved to (mid) silver. Lickilicky and Persian were at the (low) silver stage and both had green potential.

Yanma had recently evolved to Yanmega and joined the (low) silver-stage club as well, and his potential was deep green. Wobbuffet was the only one still at the (high) bronze stage and his potential was still light green.

While we were watching our Pokemon I decided to ask her if she wanted to accompany me on a trip to the Viridian Forest tomorrow. I was planning to visit Papa/Uncle Raichu since we were in the area, and we could use the chance to spar with some den members.

Jessica could use the chance to practice her healing on the Pokemon that got hurt during the sparring battles, and the Pokemon could go harder at it.

"Say, Jessie, I'm going to visit Thor's family at the Viridian Forest tomorrow. Do you want to come along? I can guarantee that it won't be dangerous. We'll be sparring there so you can join in and use the chance to practice some live healing," I offered her.

"Sure, sounds fun. Hopefully, they'll let me take a few pictures with them. All those Pikachu, I'm sure everyone will be jealous when I show them a picture of me with so many cuties." She agreed and seemed excited about meeting a friendly mischief of the Pikachu line.

After getting her agreement we stood up and joined our Pokemon. I proposed the game green light, red light. Everyone turned out to be quite eager, so we played it for close to two hours before I decided to put a stop to it.

Mothra and Yanmega had the hardest time with the game before they decided to forgo flying and switched to walking, but it was also Mothra who seemed to be the most reluctant to stop playing the game. I promised her that we would occasionally play the game at home as well to mollify her.

Before this, we had been playing other games like tag and hide and seek, but it seems she had taken a shine to green light, red light. A quick peek at the clock told us that dinner was only an hour away, so we fed our Pokemon before Jessie brought me to a restaurant called "Tarik's Steakhouse".

The restaurant was another one that sold food cooked with animals instead of Pokemon, which meant that it was much cheaper. While I personally did not really care about the price difference, Jessie obviously did, so I kept mum and entered without saying anything.

We ate some tasty steaks with mashed potatoes and sauce. Yes, I said steaks, not steak. We were still growing, at least I was, and I was sure Jessie was still maturing in certain places as well if you know what I mean.

Jokes aside, the amount of food our bodies need was much higher than one would think, so eating nearly 1 kg of steak/meat along with some side dishes as well as some fizzy drinks was normal, at least for me it was. Jessie ate roughly half of what I did, but my body just needed more. It's not cause I was fat or anything like that.

I paid less than 200 Poke for everything which was really cheap considering the amount we ate and drank, non-alcoholic drinks of course. If we had visited one of the steakhouses that used Tauros meat instead of regular beef, the bill would have been 10 to 15 times that amount at least.

After dinner, I accompanied Jessie back to her dorm and wished her a good night, before walking toward the hotel I booked a room at. The next morning I went to Jessica's dorm and called her so that she could come down.

We went to "Torajiro's Bistro" once more for breakfast, before visiting a PokeMart on Jessie's insistence to buy some Pokemon food for Thor's family since she did not want to go there empty-handed.

We bought a lot of food made for electric types in general and some specially made for the Pikachu line for Thor's immediate family. I was planning to pay for it all, but Jessie insisted on paying at least a part of the bill.

I was against it since the price was pretty high and I had no money problems. In the end, I let her contribute 200 Poke. She wanted to pay more but I put my foot down, and she reluctantly agreed.

*hahhhhhhh(long exhale)*

To think I would one day have to fight to pay the bills as well. Anyway, once we had the Pokemon food, I called out Horus and had him Teleport us inside Uncle Raichu's territory. I called out everyone except for the water types before we made our way to their den on foot.

Jessie refrained from calling out her Pokemon since Thor's family/den members did not know her Pokemon so they could be attacked. My Pokemon did not have that problem since everyone knew each other.

Uncle Raichu was waiting for us at the entrance to their den, and as soon as he saw his dad Thor zoomed toward him. Thor hugged his dad and began chattering away, while we approached normally and exchanged greetings with Uncle Raichu who had an indulgent smile on his face.

I introduced Jessie to Uncle Raichu. I also told him about the sparring offer and that she could heal all participants since she was interning as a Nurse Joy. He agreed, but before the sparring battles began, we just talked about the things that we did since the last time we came to visit.

Around an hour and a half later we began the sparring battles. Uncle Raichu's mischief had enough members that were at the same stage as my/our Pokemon, so everyone got to fight.

We went at it for nearly three hours before we stopped. Afterward, I pulled out the Pokemon food we bought and distributed it to everyone while bringing out some food for ourselves and our Pokemon as well. After a nice meal with everyone, Jessie asked Uncle Raichu for permission to take photos with his mischief members and he agreed.

So, Jessie spent nearly an hour taking all kinds of photos with Pichu, and Pikachu. She even got one of the Raichu to join in, and I along with my Pokemon was dragged into some of the photos as well.

Anyway, after our impromptu photo session, we said our goodbyes to Uncle Raichu and the den members before returning to Viridian City per Teleport. We went to a restaurant for dinner before I once more accompanied Jessica to her dorm.

She thanked me for the nice and fun two days, I obviously thanked her as well. We said our goodbyes and I made my way back home with Horus.
