147 CH16 (146), Aaron Aura Academy

We left my new home and made our way to the Aaron Aura Academy grounds on foot.

"What you should know is that the academy actually has 2 campuses. One is located in the center of South Rota City and the other at the northeast of South Rota City, near the bridge leading to Cameron Castle." Aaron explained to me while we made our way to the northeastern campus.

"Really? Why split the campus?" I asked curiously. I mean I understood that they needed more space, but they could have just built everything in the northeastern area.

"Well, they could have made one super large campus, but the center area of each district needs something that guarantees the safety of the district/city. For South Rota that is obviously the aura academy, and because the academy can't take up to much space, the campus was split.

The reason the second campus is located in the northern area has a similar reason. Each district has something near the bridge to Cameron Castle to serve as (the first line of) defense, in this case, the academy campus.

Anyway, the central campus has the elementary and college division since those divisions need less space. The outer campus is used by the secondary and tertiary divisions. I'll show you around the secondary division's campus area." He said and we started speeding a bit up to get there faster.

It took us about 25 minutes to reach the campus border, and once we did the first thing I did was to call out Xatu so that he could remember the location. It wasn't that I was too lazy to walk/jog that bit, but it kind of seemed like a waste. Aaron who saw my action just nodded his head.

"Alright, I think the first place we should visit is the administration building. You can register Horus as your Pokemon there, and they can register his energy signature, otherwise, you won't be able to teleport around without being investigated.

You also need to register the Pokemon you want to carry around/use while on campus. Have you decided which 5 of your Pokemon you want officially show to the Academy/alliance?" He asked and I was a bit confused.

"Five?" I asked in a slightly doubtful tone. 'Shouldn't it have been three?' I mused to myself.

"Yeah, you can have 6 Pokemon. 5 of that you can use for your old ones, and 1 you have to leave for the one the academy is going to give you." He explained as if he was talking about something obvious, which he probably was.

It seems I had missed something obvious. Probably something that I should have heard about while registering.

"Looking at your face you have no idea what I'm talking about, do you?" He asked in an exasperated tone, and I just nodded sheepishly.

"You went to get a license as a Tier 1 Aura User, did you not?" He asked and I gave a nod.

"Then you should have been told that Tier 1 humans have the same privileges as either Rookies or Junior-class trainers depending on their strength since the strength of a Tier 1 human can vary drastically depending on how far along they are. Did they not tell you about that when you got your certificate?" He asked in a doubtful tone.

I scratched my cheek sheepishly when he said that while cursing my impatience.

"They did ask if I knew the details about my status change and since I got impatient, or more like I wanted to leave already, so I told them I did. To skip what I thought would be a 30-minute speech, you know." I told him why I probably missed the information.

*sigh*

"I don't get you sometimes. You can be incredibly patient when you need to, but then you can get impatient because of the most curious things." He said while shaking his head.

"Anyway, Tier 1 humans with prowess equal to the bronze stage have the same privileges as Rookie-class trainers, while top/peak Tier-1 humans with prowess equal to the silver stage have the same privilege as Junior-class trainers." He began and I had to nod. That was indeed important information, that would be immensely useful to me.

"How about Tier 2 humans?" I asked him since I was currently one.

"Tier 2 humans have the same privilege AND responsibilities as Senior-class trainers. Tier 3 humans have the same privilege and responsibilities as Expert-class trainers. Tier 4 humans have the same privilege and responsibilities as ACE-class trainers, and Tier 5 humans have the same privilege and responsibilities as Elite-class trainers." He answered and I whistled impressed.

"I know pretty great. Still, since most ability users at those tiers are trainers anyway, the conditions become superfluous. However, they remain factual, so any non-trainer that reaches those heights and registers will get the promised privileges, but also the responsibilities." He added before looking over curiously.

"So, which certificate did you get? I know you only got a Tier 1 certificate instead of getting a Tier 2 certificate since you want to stay "low-key"." He asked curiously while making quoting marks with his hands when he said low-key, and I honestly had no idea.

"I honestly don't know. I simply went to get the certificate because I had to get it for the Academy. Since I just wanted to be done with it all I did not delve into it too much. I did however show around top Tier 1 prowess as you suggested, so I should have the certificate with Junior-class privileges. Wait a minute, let me take it out." I told him before I began pulling out the certificate from my bag.

Aaron moved closer and looked over my shoulder to get a look at the certificate as well while I was looking over it.

"Yeah, that's the junior-type certificate. The star after the Tier 1 means that you got Junior-class trainer privileges." He said while pointing at the star.

"So, I can carry up to 8 Pokemon and have up to 32 Pokemon as long as I can provide as well as house them. Really, just like that?" I asked a bit in marvel since this windfall came pretty unexpected.

"Yep. However, from the size of your new property and the financial status of your family, I would guess that your max limit would be set somewhere between 16 and 20 Pokemon." Aaron answered and I was pretty satisfied with that.

Considering that I was thinking I was only allowed to have 3 Pokemon before this, having the limit stretched to 16 was a massive improvement. While I was thinking about how many of my Pokemon I should reveal, Aaron decided to throw in his two cents.

"I would recommend only registering a maximum of 10 of your current Pokemon. You're going to get one more from the Academy for reaching Tier 1. I also do not doubt that you will be given the chance to find a Riolu partner and a Togepi sometime during the next one or two years.

That would already make 13 and the other 3 should be left in case you have to register one of your old Poke, on or you catch a new one that has to be registered for one reason or another." He said and I had to agree with him since what he said made sense.

"You're right my friend. I'll listen to your advice. It made a surprising amount of sense coming from you." I teased him a bit and he lightly/jokingly punched my shoulder while chuckling.

"I don't want to hear that from mister "Tier 1, so what?". You lost your acting-wise privileges with that one for at least 6 months." He teased me back and I had no way to refute him.

Acting impatient and ignoring the offer from the clerk was not a smart move. I should have at least looked that up. Just because I did not find anything on that inside my library does not mean there are no rules on it in the real world.

That's more a political move than anything after all. Still, better now than later. I can't think I know everything just because I have a lot, and I mean a lot, of information/knowledge inside my head.

I mean, I was normally checking for most of the info I wanted in the real world as well, like with the Cubone or the cave, but it somehow slipped my mind to do the same for aura or psionics as well.

"Alright, I shall generously give you this win." I accepted defeat for the moment. "Let's just go to the administration office." I changed the topic back to the first one.

Aaron just smiled and led us to the office. There I showed my certificate and registered Horus, Mothra, Nyx, Enji, Mars, Manami, Dilong, Luna, Tyson, Thor, as well as Hashirama as my Pokemon.

The women at the registration desk just gaped at me when I listed the Pokemon I wanted to register for myself.

"Just to be sure. You want to register a Xatu, Butterfree, Eevee, Growlithe, Ursaring, Lapras, Gyarados, Clefairy, Machoke, Pikachu, and an Ivysaur under your name. Did I get that right?" She asked in disbelief once she got out of her shocked state.

"That's right," I confirmed a bit amused by her reaction and seeing the smile on Aaron's face he was just as amused as I was.

"Okay, .... You are aware that it is possible that teachers or alliance personnel might check if those Pokemon are really yours, and if you can take care of/control them." She asked still not sure if I was joking or not.

She had seen my actual age on my file after all, so it was reasonable for her to be shocked. Luckily it was not necessary to mention their strength as well or she might have fainted.

"Yeah, I know. That's not a problem since I have a genuine bond with them." I answered her, which led to another round of incredulous gaping. Seems like she knew that it was not easy to get a genuine bond early on, which kinda made sense considering where she was working.

"Are we done, or do you need anything else?" I asked and she just shook her head before snapping out of it.

"No, that would be everything. You may leave." She answered, so we left.

"Your homeroom teacher is probably going to be the one to check your Pokemon. I don't think the Academy would let anyone not affiliated with it perform the check." Aaron informed me once we were outside and I thanked him for telling me his opinion on the matter.

After that, he showed me around the whole campus of the second division, at least the parts that we could see/enter, and boy was it big. There were 5 parkour/obstacle courses with each having a different difficulty, going from easy to really hard.

The academy had 2 battlefields for Pokemon that students with Pokemon could use, 1 battlefield for human battles, and 1 for mixed battles. There were also 2 maintained multi-purpose grass fields, 2 gyms (for indoor sport), 2 sports fields, 2 pools, 2 school buildings (one for regular studies, and one for aura studies), 2 student dormitories, 1 teacher dormitory, 1 library building, 1 security building, 1 janitorial building/dormitory, and 1 training center.

The fact that this was only the campus of the secondary school division was mind-blowing. We spent nearly 4 hours walking around the whole place. Aaron showed me where everything was, which he knew because he was a student here during his secondary education.

After we were done Aaron brought us to a restaurant he liked to eat since all that walking made us hungry. The restaurant was called "Erina's Heavenly Cuisine" and the shop name was not just baseless bragging.

The Bouffalant steak was awesome and the sauce went perfectly with the meat enhancing the steak's taste even further. Aaron just ate some Fearow breast with white sauce and a salad, but he looked really happy doing so, so I was pretty sure they tasted great as well.

After that great food which Aaron paid for, by the way, we returned to my house to chill for a bit.
