Morning Star [50]

"Again!" I command. Turtwig and Vulpix hearing this regain a glow in their eyes and get into battle. Seeing this I smirk and leave them to it.

Looking around the place we set up camp, I spot Aegislash thrashing both Metagross and Golem around.

It seems like training has been progressing smoothly.

Well… for everyone besides the new members I guess.

It has been a few days since I've caught my new Pokemon and I've taught both of them [Protect] after going for a few trips to Scovile. Alolan Vulpix has gotten the same TMs and additional one which is [Ice Beam].

It seemed like a useful move for her so I bought it on impulse.

While eating some Adobo my mum has packed heaps of before I left the house, I see a bright light on the ground towards my left.

Turning around I see a bright glow in the shape of a circle next to Slowbro who was looking at the glow with a lazy face.

-Master I think the crazy chimp is evolving- I hear Slowbro practically yawn out somehow in our link.

After a few more seconds the light started to dim down and show a Monferno with flames surrounding his body.

'Is he controlling his ability [Blaze]?' I thought in surprise. Looking over at Slowbro with a dangerous glint in my eyes, I respond.

"Keep on battling him Slowbro." I shout. Looking over the crazed battle monkey, he immediately engulfs himself in flames and fighting power and dashes forward.

Seeing this I recognise Monferno using [Power-Up Punch], [Quick Attack] and [Flame Charge]. A combo move I have helped Chimchar now Monferno with, which I named [Morning Star]

Slowbro not standing still, [Teleports] out of the way of the speeding chimp and uses [Water Gun]. Monferno recognising the noise of the move that has been hitting him since the start of training, changes his course of direction dodging the attack.

Turning around Chimchar uses [Ember] to do some chip damage.

"The battle shouldn't last much longer" I murmur seeing the exhausted Monferno. Putting my food on the ground, I make my way towards the battle.

Slowbro not seeing any point of stalling the fight, tanks the [Ember] and uses [Teleport] to get in front of Monferno.

"Ferrr!" Monferno shouts as it uses [Protect] after sensing the danger. Slowbro not stopping, uses [Heabutt] and breaks through the shield and knocking out Monferno.

"Nicely done Slowbro." I say while Slowbro was healing the injured Monkey. "I guess it's time we fight a few gyms in a row and maybe fight an extremely strong trainer in the middle." I comment with a grin.

I should be prepared for a couple of gyms for now, there's no point taking breaks in between when we could just steam roll it. I don't expect to beat every gym but I should win a couple of badges.

"Every gather, we will pack up now and challenge some gym." I shout.

…

"So is Fantina is here?" I question. The man in front of me starts to sigh seemingly in contempt.

"Yes she has finaly taken a "break", though for how long is not known. So even if you haven't prepared yet I would suggest battling her now instead of booking a time." He tells me in a tired tone. Looking at the guard with a pitiful look, I thank him for the information and head inside the gym.

"Hearthome City is a very colourful place, it's more lively that I though a ghost gym would reside at." I murmur while walking towards the front desk.

"Hello sir are you here to challenge Fantina?" A woman in her early 20s asks in excitement. After a little chat I was able to get a pass and entered a dark hallway.

'I don't clearly remember her battling prowess but she obviously isn't weak.' I think to myself. Due to not battling many normal trainers with my journey Pokemon (The one's he caught after he start journey), my Pokemon aren't too well versed at looking out for everything.

Theres no need to rush though.

"Hohoho!" A loud and obnoxious "laugh" could be heard at the end of the bright exit. Making my way into the battlefield with sore eyes, I spot a certain gym leader with her fan blocking her mouth.

"It's been a while since I've had a challenger, hopefully you can entertain me mi amor." Fantina says in delight.

'Eww da hel.' I thought looking at the over dressed woman.

Did she just say mi amor?

Looking at the stands, I realise that it's empty without a single spectator. Because of Fantina always being away, there isn't a daily audience to watch her gym battles

This is really advantageous for the challenger with less "pressure" and eyes watching.

"For this battle can our last Pokemon be our aces?" I ask in an arrogant tone. Fantina removing her scot free attitude, adapts a serious look.

"If that is what really want trainer." She says removing her weird pose and takes out a Love ball.

'Okay now she looks hot.' I say to myself looking at the serious Fantina. I'm still a teen okay, don't bring out the baseball bats…

Yet.

"The battle between Aichi from Twinleaf Town and Fantina the Hearthome City Gym Leader will now commence! Each side will have four Pokemon and the battle will be over when all four of a person's Pokemon are unable to battle. In addition, only the challenger can substitute Pokemon!" The referee shouts. Hearing this both Fantina and I send out our first Pokemon.

"Turt!"

"Misdrei!"
