26 Farewell

"Celes get ready."

Celes smirks disturbingly and glares at Charmander as if wanting it's blood. She was in full yandere mode.

Charmander spews a Flamethrower attack directly at Celes who dodges the attack by teleporting to the side.

Charmander gets cocky and charges in to tackle Celes. Celes uses her psychic powers and lifts Charmander up into the sky. She then proceeds to slam Charmander full-speed to the ground.

She repeats this several times and by the time she stops Charmander had already fainted.

"Celes. That's enough."

Celes stops her attack and lands Charmander onto the ground who has already fainted.

"I think you have learnt your lesson now, Charmander."

Celes gets a head pat from Xyno who calms down from the patting.

When Charmander wakes up he looks at Xyno and notices Celes is still glaring gat him, but not as angrily as last time.

Charmander acknowledges Xyno as his master. Upon winning all the fights from the start and being pampered too much from the start by his previous owners, Charmander had grown to be quite full of himself and thought no one he fought could overcome him.

But the sheer difference in power between Celes and himself made him realize he was wrong. He walks over to Xyno and bows down as in admitting defeat.

"Seems like you have finally learned your lesson, Charmander. Make sure to follow all of Xyno's orders from now on."

"Char~" Charmander growls in a low tone to apologize to Celes.

Celes understood his feelings and stops glaring at him. She walks up to him and pats his head.

Charmander feels a caring and soothing aura being emitted from Celes and looks at her. Her sweet, smiling face looked like the face of an angel, but for Charmander that was the smile of a devil.

He broke in a cold sweat thinking that this Big Sister is too scary.

"Well looks like you two are already friends, aren't you?" Xyno chuckles.

"Oh, looks like you may be able to tame Charmander. Please take good care of him from now on." Professor Oak comes from the side and says with a smile. He then releases Charmander from his Pokeball.

(What should I name him?)

Xyno suddenly remembered the nickname he used to give his Charmander when he used to play the games.

"Welcome aboard, Igneel."

Xyno throws the Arcadia Fire ball and catches Charmander(Igneel).

A message pops up in his head.

NAME: Igneel (M)

AGE: 5 years

ELEMENT: Fire

MOVES: Flamethrower, Fire Fang, Scratch, Leer

Xyno lets Igneel out of his ball to meet Sett and Tiny who had come outside sensing Celes' psychic powers.

"Igneel. Meet Sett and Tiny. These are your new friends. Try to get along with them."

Sett stares at Igneel and then moves in closer. Igneel who notices Sett coming closer gets surprised at first, but then just stands there while Sett starts sniffing him.

When Sett feels satisfied that Igneel is a good Pokemon he seems happy and rubs his wings on Igneel's head as petting him.

Tiny just smiles from a distance he did not like fire that much, being a grass-type and all. Igneel who feels the others being friendly around him Tackles Sett as a gesture of just playing around.

Sett who was used to these friendly attacks just smiles and doesn't mind Igneel Tackling him suddenly.

Igneel then tries to Tackle Tiny. Seeing him running in his direction Tiny tries to run away but Igneel was faster so he ends up colliding with Tiny.

All of them quickly grow friendly and get along well.

"Well, I am happy Charmander finally has a family he can call his own. I'll be seeing you around, Xyno. Do visit me sometime in the Kanto region. Also if you need anything just call me at this number."

Professor Oak hands Xyno a card with his number.

"I'll be going back to the party now. Enjoy yourself and celebrate your achievements."

Saying this Professor Oak heads inside to enjoy the banquet.

"Well, shall we head back home now guys?"

Xyno heads back and decides to stop by Chisato's house to check up on her. She seemed too bored from the banquet.

Chisato opens the door and notices Xyno with a new fiery member

"Looks like we have a new friend here, hello there little friend." Chisato proceeds to pet Igneel.

Igneel, just like the others quickly got mesmerized by the petting and decides to hug Chisato and begs to be petted more.

"Oh my~ You like headpats as well."

When the Pokemon go over and have their Pokemon talk with each other, Chisato brings two glasses of wine and drinks with Xyno.

All of them indulge in talks and have a good time together.

"Chisato, I want to tell you something. It's important"

"Hmm?"

Chisato and Xyno both were a little drunk. "I'll be leaving the city and going back to my home. My work here is done."

Xyno and Chisato talk this over for a time. Chisato was feeling down after hearing his departure from the city.

Chisato was looking at Xyno who was booking a train ride back to the mansion. She felt a bit sad and did not want to be separated from Xyno. She had grown to love Xyno in the time they spent together.

10 days have passed since the banquet and Xyno acquiring Igneel. Igneel likes to train with Sett quite much in the day and also basks in the sun sometimes with Tiny.

Celes had taken the Big Sis role for each and every one of them and took care of them when Xyno was not around or was busy.

Inside his residence, Xyno can be seen packing his bag and equipment to head back to Maria's mansion. He had gotten his Jr. Professor's license, so there was no need to hang around anymore.

His train was in the evening so there was still time left. He decided to say goodbye to everyone in the city. He first goes over to the orphanage to say farewell to the kids.

But he notices the kids are not at the orphanage. Turns out they went out early in the morning and haven't come back yet.

"Ma'am, please send my regards to the kids on behalf of me when they come back. Tell them to train their partners well and learn to understand each other." Saying this Xyno heads out.

The orphanage lady smiles at him and does not say a word.

He goes over to the Academy and sends his regards to his colleagues and the scientists and everyone else who worked with him at the Academy.

"Hey, Xyno! I heard you are going back to the mansion. So you're leaving?"

"Yeah, Steve. I have accomplished what I came for, so there is no need to hang around anymore."

"Ok man. Be sure to call now and then. The next time we hang out, the tab's on me, bro."

"Sure man. See ya."

By the time he was done, it was already 3 o'clock and his train was in about 2 hours.

Back at the residence Xyno picks up his belongings and calls his partners back into their balls except for Celes and Sett, they liked to hang outside their balls.

Xyno feels bad for leaving Chisato without saying anything.

"I feel bad leaving Chisato behind like this, but she has her duties to take care of here and look after the orphanage kids as well."

As he thinks about this he feels a tight feeling in his chest, almost as if he was regretting his decision.

He heads out for the train station. When he arrives he sees Chisato ready with her luggage, heading somewhere.

"Going back to your home without saying anything to me, Xyno? Not even a goodbye?"

"I did not want to see your sad face while leaving you behind. I know you have work here that's why I can't force you to come with me."

As he completes his sentence Chisato grabs his collar to pull him closer and kisses him passionately.

"You don't have to force me to come with you silly. Remember what I said? I'll go anywhere you want me to."

Everyone who was watching at the moment started clapping. They knew Chisato and Xyno were a thing but never saw them kissing in public.

"Big brother Xyno!"

Both Xyno and Chisato notice the orphanage kids watching the both of them kiss and detach themselves from each other.

"Tommy! Don't look! You are too young for this!" Rosaline says this as the other kids put their hands on his face to block his vision.

James and Chtholly step forward.

"We wanted to thank you both for everything you both have done for us all this time. We are very grateful."

Ben speaks up. "You don't have to worry about us, Big Sis Chisato. We know how to take care of our Pokemon and of each other now."

Chisato tears up upon hearing the kids confess their gratitude and hugs them all.

Xyno hugs all of them from behind as well.

"Thank you all. It was fun watching you kids grow up in front of my eyes."

The kids cry and hug Xyno and Chisato tightly as well.

All of them share a very delicate moment at the entrance of the train station that would bring anyone to tears. The Orphanage lady who was watching them from the sidelines felt emotional as well.

"We had prepared some sweets and food for Sett and the others for your journey back."

Sett and Celes hug the kids as well. Tiny and Igneel jump out of their ball to hug the children as well.

Sett gives each of the kids a feather from his wings as a memo for their memories together.

"Thank you Sett"

As they say their goodbyes Chisato and Xyno board the train which was about to leave.

Xyno rests his hand on James' shoulder. "Make sure to take care of your brothers and sisters. I'm counting on you, James."

James who was already tearing up but tries to hold it in while acting strong and hugs Xyno.

"Yeah. I will."

"One day I'll be an awesome trainer like Big Brother Xyno, you'll see!" Ben shouts out.

The train's A.I. blows the horn and it starts to move.

The children chase after the train while it was still slow at the station.

"Make sure to visit us every now and then!"

"Don't forget to write letters!"

"Take care, you two!"

The children wave the two of them goodbye. The orphanage lady decides to show herself as she notices the children burst into tears.

"Let's go back now little ones. I'm sure you'll see them again."

The orphanage lady comforts the kids and all of them head back.
