9 ch 9 ( practical exam )

several months have passed by after he returned home right know he is on his way to school for his exam . although after becoming an assistant professor he does not need to attend the school regularly he only appears for exams

and today is one of those days but today the exam is not regarding any particular subject but it is a trainer exam . the exam is to test the skills that been taught to the students in the past three years .

dio arrived at school then made his way to the auditorium as that was where 8th years were asked to gather. after arriving inside he found himself an empty seat to sit on .

soon Ned ( if you forgot the special teacher for trainers) arrived with shool principal and another two people in toe . they climbed the stage and mr principal started to speak .

the shool principal is called by the name fegurson by students and teachers he has a round physique with black hair with black eyes .

he stands at about 5'7 and appears to be in his 50s he is mostly seen wearing a grey suit and a pair of round glasses .

" everyone goodmornin " fegurson said greeting all the students in the room .

" good morning sir fegurson " mostly everyone responded to fegurson's greeting .

" today is a big moment for all of you who aspire to be pokemon trainer your practical exam this exam will change your future depending on the result and its not gonna be easy but I have faith in my students so best of luck give it your all " fegurson gave his little speech to the students encouraging and demoralizing them at the same time . it is all part of the process as the test had already begin.

" thank you sir " everyone replied they are aware why the principal gave them a speech in this manner it is simlar to what they have heard from the seniors . but still it did make them question what would happen if they fail there dreams of becoming a trainer would never be realized .

" now I would like to introduce you to Mr Martin

who is gonna be your invigilator " sir principal said as he introduced one of the two people that were on stage with him .

" thank you sir . I am Martin and I will be overseeing your exam i am a gold rank trainer currently working as one of the deputy commanders for the south border patrol " Martin introduced himself to the students .

Martin stands at about 6'4 with a muscular build he has brown hair and black eyes . he is currently wearing his military uniform with combat boots and has a knife strapped to his left thigh .

" you all should be aware what the exam entails but still I will give you a reminder . firstly you have to camp and survive in the forest for one week with the supplies provided , you are allowed to work together in teams second you have to catch a wild pokemon in this week if you are enable to do any one of the two you will fail the exam . " he said reminding everyone of the steps for the clearance of the exam .

" understood " he yelled out loud getting a simlar

" yes sir " in return.

" okay then , two buses are waiting for you outside in the school parking head into any of the two after 20 min we will leave for the exam sight . " he said telling everyone where to go.

all the students left the auditorium to get to the buses . dio also like everyone made his way to the parking lot he got in one of the two buses as he was looking for a free seat someone yelled

" dio here " dio looked at the person who called it was none other than sam he was sitting on the back seat with Erick . dio made his way over taking the corner seat by the window .

its been close to three years since dio last saw him he has grown alot he is almost 5ft now.

" which cave were you living in for the past three years we saw you on the exams but you left before everybody not even talking to us" erick asked questioning dio's little to no presence in school for the past three years.

" I was doing my internship that's why I did not have time for school " dio explained the reasons for his dissappearnce.

" internship what internship " sam asked . he became more confused with dio's answer than he was before .

" the one after R.A.E " dio said giving them a good hint to guess the rest themselve .

" you want to be a professor like your mom " erick asked him and sam both knew about his mom being a reputable pokemon professor. and it make sense to choose the same profession as his mother .

" not completely i want to be a trainer more than anything the internship was more of a side thing

" dio said as he leaned on his seat placing his feet on the bar that was in front .

" but why though " erick asked again he did not understand the reason of doing internship if you don't want to be a professional researcher.

" to learn more in detail about pokemon rather than learning simple overview taught in the school " dio replied . he was not hesitant to share

things with these two because he has known them from 6- 7 years . after hearing that sam and

erick face had a simlar uncertain expression.

" why the face " dio asked after looking at there expression.

sam corrected his expression as he said

" it sounds so like you " dio has always done some weird and unusual things throughout the time they have known him so all of this in there head so matches his character .

" what does that mean " dio asked uncertain what that statement meant .

" its not important " erick said saving sam from his fumble .

as they were talking the bus started and left for the exam sight .

( some time later )

the two buses arrived at the exam sight as Martin yelled from outside.

" everyone of you get out and stand right in front of the little podium built on that side " after he spoke everyone got out of the bus and made there way to the the podium .

Martin stood on top of the podium as everyone gathered.

" your exam begins in an hour your supplies are placed right there " he said pointing to a tent right by a big building. he then continued " take them after that you be sorted into groups and sent to diffrent locations . okay "

everyone nodded and made there way to the tent . some officers were already standing there they handed them there supplie bag one by one

the bag contains a sleeping bag , one small tent , food for pokemon as well as the trainer , some medicines and ointments an artifical light ,

torch and a lighter . after getting there supplies they were broken in to ten groups of ten .

every group was then transported to a diffrent starting location outside the forest .they were then told to venture into the forest into different directions at diffrent times individually .

( dio pov )

I am currently traveling depper into the forest after departing from the starting location 10 minutes ago .

this forest is specially designed and conserved for the purposes of the test it has a yellow rank threat level but it meets that criteria barely as most of the pokemon in this forest are Intermediate or lower level there are only one or two advance level pokemon a normal yellow rank area consist of more than 30 % advance level pokemon and those pokemon live in several big herds and clans so encountering any one of those clans can prove dangerous for lower rank trainers . but on the other side in this forest there are no no such clans and herds presents and if they are they consist of Intermediate and lower level pokemon . the best way to survive in the forest is to remain at the boundaries away from the centre point where an advance level pokemon is present and big herds of pokemon live but I have other ideas .

I made my way deeper in to the forest as the herds of the pokemon grew bigger and stronger in power although I am moving while avoiding fights . I don't want to crate chos on the first day of the test . I slowly kept walking deeper while avoiding the pokemon herds towards the centre where my goal was present and soon I reached the nest of my prey . the centre area of the forest was a long grass field with some trees in the centre the grass was reaching upto my head so I had to be aware of any surprises attack .

I reached the centre part of the field where the grass became shorter five oak tress were present in the centre growing side by side with each other . the oak trees had some marks on there trunk that indicated that this was the place where the pokemon lived .

" haunter be ready " dio tapped on the ground relaying his message to haunter who was in his shadow asking him to be aware .

( Haunter is a purple Pokemon surrounded  with a gaseous body. It has a round head flanked by three large, spiked protrusions on either side. It has triangular eyes with small pupils and a mouth with a long, pink tongue. The gases composing its head curve into its mouth to form several pointed teeth. Disembodied hands with three clawed fingers each float in front of its body. Its body tapers into a jagged tail. Haunter's gaseous form makes it one of the lightest Pokemon  in existence. It can also float through walls. )

gastly evolved into haunter three months earlier after going through some intense training.

suddenly the grass started to sway a little and a buzzing sound started to appear closer and closer " its coming " soon a shadow launched itself at us through our left but haunter was prepared he morphed out of the shadow and deliverd a sucker punch to the shadow. the shadow got thrown towards the trees it recovered mid way and stood up again .

" syther "

" nice to meet you i am here to catch you if you cooperate this will become easier " I said with a grin

(Scyther is a bipedal, insectoid Pokemon . It is primarily green with thin, cream-colored sections between its head, thorax, and abdomen. it has a smaller abdomen which makes him a male. It has narrow eyes and three points on the back of its somewhat reptilian head. Its forearms consist of large, white scythes, which it uses for hunting as well as fighting. On its thighs are spikes of fur, and it has three clawed toes on its large feet. Two pairs of cream-colored wings extend from its back. While these wings do allow Scyther to fly, it rarely does so.)

" syther " ' never ' was his reply with allot of anger.

syther used his blades to form an x-shape as they started to glow then charged at haunter he was using x-scissior .

" haunter use shadow ball "

haunter morphed a dark ball into his hands and then launched it at the charging syther.

as syther was doing x-scissior he could not change direction in that speed very quickly it is impossible for him at his current power level .

the shadow ball collided with syther's x-scissior destroying his charge and momentum and ruining his attack making him stop .
