3 ch 3 ( first pokemon)

{ i wanted to add the date so you guys can follow along much better when time skips happen )

school ended and dio is currently on his way home . " how was your day young master " Edward asked just to strike a conversation.

" the usual " dio replied in his standard lackluster way not wanting to continue the conversation .

Edward understood and did not said anything afterwards . he has been around since Dio was born he has seen his childish moments and his weird side or you can say his adult side which in his eyes portrayed Dio as an unusual child .

some minutes later .

dio started a conversation and asked Edward .

" by the way I heard your granddaughter have

applied for the R.A.E exam "

RAE is an exam held by the league ones every year on 27th April, the exam is for the people who want to become a pokemon researcher/professor the exam entails questions regarding pokemons behavior, nutrition and habitats from type to individual species . the only requirement for R.A.E is that you should be minimum 10 years of age .

{ why RAE it sounded sensible that's all }

" yes , her exam is in two days and she is studying very hard for it " Edward replied with some pride in his voice .

" do you think she will make it " dio asked because R.A.E is one of the toughest exams and only 20 % people clear it . as to why people still go for it because pokemon research/professors is a high value profession even if you are just an assistant professor you can still earn good money .

" i have faith in her and she has put in allot of effort " Edward replies . he really dotes on her and wants her to succeed.

" where is she gonna apply for her internship " dio asked as after you have cleared the exam you have to apply for an internship of 2 years at a research centre/lab .

" I think she is gonna apply at SMRC , I hope she gets accepted " Edward says while also cheekiely underling his real message.

SMRC stand for south main research centre not very clever i know it is what it is there are 5 main reserch centeres/ labs in kanto and every main reserch center has 5 smaller recerch centre under them in total 30 research centres/lab that directly works for the league in kanto not counting that onres owned by private parties for ex prof. Oaks reserch centre/ lab .

dio's mom is one of the three senior professors of SMRC .

' well I wish I could help but mom is to serious when it comes to her work actually she is way to serious about everything ' dio thought inside his mind .

{ pov dio }

we soon arrived home and I straight went to my room after changing clothes .I sat down on my computer to study for the R.A.E exam as well I am also giving this exam on 27 th although I am not 10 years of age but because I will turn 10 on 2 may which is in less than a months time I am allowed to give the exam . but my purpose is diffrent for giving the exam firstly which is actually the main reason , I can carry 10 more pokemon after becoming a pokemon professor secondly I can learn more in depth about pokemon rather than learning just the basics in school . I am planning on doing my internship at prof. oaks lab as I will get to meet him and learn from him I know mom is not gonna like that but If I join mom's lab , ahh I can't even imagine . well let's not think about it .

I am planning on studying from the internet for a few hours and yes the pokemon world has internet they have there own version of face book and YouTube also .

I studied on the internet for a few hours and went down when it was finally dinner time.

{ pov change }

Everyone was eating dinner as grandpa sho asked dio " you ready for the exam " both dio's mom and dad were surprised by grandpa sho's question .

" what exam " dio dad asked very surprised .

" i told you to tell them " granpa sho wanted dio to tell them before but dio said he will tell them at some point . now that the exam is in two days grandpa sho could not avoid it anymore as the exam is just around the corner and if they found out after the exam sara is not gonna have a nice reaction. dio stared at grandpa sho as he said .

" I was planning to, its the R.A.E that's in two days " dio was not happy for being ratted out by his grandpa but he understands where his grandpa is coming from .

" when did you apply , why I did not know any of this " sara was quite unhappy with dio hiding something big like this from her .

" i applied three months ago when they declared the date , I asked grandpa's permission " dio replied shifting some of the blame on grandpa sho .

" why did not tell us if you would have told , your mom could have helped you prepare for the exam " Steve said as he was also a little unhappy with both his dad and son .

" i know that's why I did not tell you . because I wanted to do this on my own and mom's been two busy and stressed for the past months because of her new project " dio knew how his mom would have put more stress on herself to make him prepare for the exam if he somehow did not make it she would have blamed herself like every time he does something wrong she blames herself .

" what about your internship"

Sara asked .

" at prof. Oaks lab in the pallet town " dio said as he wants to be clear regarding it as the cat is already out of the bag .

" why there " sara asked to know why he did not choose her reserch center .

" because he is a very reputable prof. and also a previous champion grandpa has said he will make sure I get accepted " dio replied as he looked at grandpa sho who just nodded lightly after being dragged in by dio .

" fine , I respect your decision so you better not fail and in two years you must be a junior professor " sara said making everyone go a little wide eyed with surprise . she regretted her outburst in the morning that's why she did not debunk dio's decision.

" i will mom " dio replied with a smile as he did not except his mom accepting .

Some time later

Steve was reading a book while sara was on her laptop working on something.

Steve puts his book down and turn towards Sara

" i did not expect for you to agree " steve said . as he didn't except her to agree with dio so easily .

" so what did you expect " sara asks Steve as she closes her laptop and turns around to face him .

" i know you are trying to be the best mother you can but you don't have to push yourself. he loves you and its not gonna change " steve said as he knows what is going through her mind .

" would he love me when he finds out that I am not his real mother " sara replied with a dejected look Steve hugged her from behind to calm her .

' dio's biological mom died the day he was born and i married Sara a year after because i lost my mother when i was young and wanted dio to not go through the same . from the day they married she has tried very hard to be there for dio . but dio was diffrent from other children he liked being alone hated making friends got in trouble alot did not show any interest in things kids his age do so sara started blaming things on herself . actually the fact of not being his real mother constantly bugged her and dio's behavior unconsciously solidified that fact in her mind so that's why eyerytime dio is involved she over reacts and over judges the situation and then regrets her decision ' ( steve)

{i tried to rewrite this scene/ scenario couple of times but every time it turn out lacking so I finally said just fuck it } .

" why are you still stuck on that you are the one who raised him just because you did not give birth to him it does not make you inferior in any way " Steve said .

" its just something I cannot seem to overlook , I want to tell him the truth but am afraid of his reaction " sara replied she have thought about telling him multiple times but every time her feet turned cold just thinking of the what if .

" Don't worry tell him when you feel like it , I am sure he will understand " Steve replies he knows that they have to tell the truth to dio at some point but that decision should be taken by sara .

time skip

2nd may

dio was happily doing his morning practice with grandpa sho as today was the day he will get his

first pokemon.

" look at you all smiles " grandpa sho said seeing dio constantly smiling from time to time .

" well why shouldn't I , today finally I am gonna get my first pokemon " dio replied as he continued doing his push ups .

' you will be surprised about what awaits you there '

grandpa sho thought.

After doing his morning practice dio took a bath and went straight to the league building in the Exter City with Edward and grandpa sho . they arrived at a five story building and went straight to reception but were asked to wait by the reception lady so they sat down in the waiting area .

" there are quite a few people here " Edward said as there was a number of people sitting in the waiting area .

" this league building also serves as a hotel for trainers " dio answered to Edward's question.

soon a person from the staff arrived and asked .

" sir dio "

" yes " dio said .

" please head to the lab " the guy said .

" i will be back grandpa " dio said leaving grandpa sho and Edward he followed the staff member to the lab the guy led him inside the lab where dio saw people walking around in labcoats and some pokemon also roaming around the guy asked dio to wait in one of the rooms as he calls the professor , dio opened the door and entered inside the room . the room was not that big it had nothing much in it except for a square table with a laptop and a wire phone on it and two chairs .

dio sat down on one of the chairs waiting for the professor to arrive , soon the door opened as a guy entered inside .

he was wearing a white lab coat had black eyes with brown hair and a french beard he looked to be in his 50s .

" Dio Amos " the guy asked as he sat down on the opposite chair .

" yes " dio replied.

the guy messed around on his laptop and then dialed the wire phone to call for something.

" you have a pre-registered pokemon " the guy said which surprised dio . because he wanted to get a pokemon through the lottery system .

there are three ways to get a pokemon you can choose a recommended starter or you can go for the lottery system to get a random pokemon and lastly you can pre - register a pokemon which simple means buying a pokemon .

" pre-registered " dio mumbled .

" yes your grandpa did it from his account "

as he said that someone opened the door with a pokeball and a pokedex. he gave those to the professor and left.

" here's your pokedex you are already registerd in the league network just scan your thumb and your pokedex should activate "

dio puts his thumb on the scanner and the pokedex activates . the pokedexs in this world are simlar to earth's smartphones and have similar functions.

" here is your pokeball you can go now "

professor told dio as he left . dio also picked up the pokeball and went back without opening the pokeball .
