7 Chapter 7: Bill and The Sensational Sisters

Thanks to a nice night of rest Nathan and his pokemon strolled a little in town looking for the Gym. After one hour of wandering around, they arrived in front of a enormous theater with the symbol of the Pokemon Gym on top. Nearing the entrance, Nathan saw a poster.

'Today, come and see The Sensational Sisters perform their graceful water ballet. Today at 04:00 PM. Get your ticket at the counter near the entrance.'

'Oh the Gym leader also do a performance with her pokemon and her sisters. Should be interesting to watch.'

Getting a ticket for the show, Nathan was left with a lot of time to kill. He decided to go and see Prof Oak's friend Bill. After asking a man, he discovered than he didn't lived inside Cerulean City but north of it on Route 25.

Going out of the town, Nathan made his way toward Route 25 to a bridge where there was a lot of trainer waiting. Nearing the bridge, he was stopped by an old man.

"Good Morning to you young man. Do you see all those trainer on the bridge ? They will challenge you to match and if you manage to defeat all of them, you will win a nice reward. What do you say, want to try ?"

"What is this rewards you speak of ?" asked Nathan.

"Well it's surprise, if it wasn't, it wouldn't be exciting." laughed the old man.

"Ok, I will try." reluctantly agreed Nathan.

Going onto the bridge Nathan was immediately called by another trainer. After doing twenty consecutive battle Nathan succeeded and traversed the whole bridge.

"Never ever again will I do that, it was so f*cking hard. Damn that old man and his challenge." cursed Nathan while letting his pokemon rest after that.

The old man approached him with a smile.

"Congratulation, you have done it young man. Here, it is your reward." said the old man giving him a light blue and white scale.

"What is it ? Is it useful ?" asked Nathan.

"Ahahahah, it's a Dragon Scale, it's a rare item and it can make a Seadra evolve into a Kingdra. I think it will be useful to you." replied the old man while looking in the direction de Kelpie who was fixed on the scale.

"Oh, thanks old man. yeah, it will definitely be useful in the future."smiled Nathan.

After parting way with the old man, Nathan continued his route toward Bill's house and Laboratory. It was two hours later that the house came in his sight. It was near a crystal clear lake with a forest at the back. A really peaceful place, where you could do experiment without anybody to bother you.

Knocking on the door Nathan said.

"Hello, I'm Nathan. Professor Oak said I should come here because you have something for me."

"Ah yes, coming." answered the voice of a young man.

Opening the door was a young man in the first half of the twenties. He had dark brown eyes almost black and light brown short hair.

"Hi,I'm Bill. Professor Oak informed me about you. Come in, come in." said Bill with a smile while urging Nathan inside.

Entering inside, Nathan was overwhelmed by the sight. There was computer everywhere and also bookshelves full to the extent where it was giving the feeling that if you touched it, it would came out. Approaching one bookshelf, Nathan read the titles and found it was only titles of rare books.

"Nice collection right ? I got them from some of my travel around the world and friends." boasted Bill, with a smug look.

"Yeah, there is even some I wanted when I was younger."said Nathan.

"Now, come here, there is something for you."beckoned Bill.

"This is an egg an acquaintance from Sinnoh send me. I don't know which pokemon it is from but he assured me it was a rare and powerful one."

"Oh, it is for me ? Really ? Thanks." said Nathan, taking the incubator and placing it in his bag.

As he was going to go back to Cerulean City, Bill said.

"Why don't you stay here a bit and talk with me. I don't have many visitors here. I would love to talk with you about pokemon."

"Sure why not." replied Nathan.

They talked for hours and seeing the time Nathan was going to leave but Bill kept him again from leaving.

"Don't leave now, I will make some food as a thanks for keeping me company." said Bill with a smile.

After their lunch, this time Nathan was really leaving because he had to go and see The Sensational Sisters performance and he didn't want to be late.

"It really was fun to talk with you, when you are in Cerulean City again come here to talk again." said Bill presenting his hand to Nathan.

"Yeah, I also had fun talking with you, and don't worry I will come again. Maybe next time the egg will have hatched and I will have more rare pokemon to show you." answered Nathan taking Bill outstretched hand.

Trekking his way back to the Cerulean, Nathan appreciated the scenery. it was calm, it wasn't to hot with the cool breeze shaking the leaves. Wild pokemon were running around.

Arriving back in Cerulean, Nathan saw it was almost time for the representation of The Sensational Sisters. Lining in the queue to enter, he saw there was all type of person, from little children to elderly. After waiting for ten minutes, Nathan took his seat in the upper part. Soon, the whole room was in the dark. Light shined on three beautiful girls who dived into the pool. Getting the help of a Dewgong one of them, a girl with indigo hair was sent in the air doing a flip and going back in the water.

Another one with blonde hair sat on a platform on the surface of the water and having a group of Goldeen jumping over her head at each movement of her hand. And the last one a pink haired girl was standing on a Seaking and was circling in the pool while waving to the crowd. After that the three jumped back in the water and danced alongside their pokemon.

Once the performance was over, Nathan was pleased to have waited, if he could have seen this. Making his way to the backstage, he came across the girl with indigo hair.

"Excuse me, I'm a challenger and I would like to have a match, please." said Nathan.

"Hello, I'm Violet, one of the three Gym Leaders. We will do the match after, we have cleaned up everything. If you could wait in the lobby." replied Violet with a smile.

Nathan had to wait for twenty minutes, Violet came with the other two girl.

"Here you are, these are my sisters Lily and Daisy." said Violet while pointing toward the pink haired girl first and then the blonde haired.

"Hello, so you are the challenger ?" said Lily, while looking at Nathan from top to bottom.

" Hi, I'm Nathan, I'm from Pallet Town, and yes I'm the challenger." replied Nathan.

"When do we start ?"

"Follow us" said Daisy leading back to the pool where they performed earlier.

"We will battle three against three. We, sisters, will use one pokemon each. Do you have a problem with it ?" asked Violet.

"No, I'm fine with it." replied Nathan while taking his place at one end of the pool.

"This will be a three on three battle between the Gym Leaders of Cerulean City Daisy, Lily and Violet and the Challenger Nathan of Pallet Town, as per the League rules only the challenger is allowed to substitute his pokemon in middle of the battle, whoever lose his three Pokemons first, will be declared loser. Now begin." said the referee.

The first one of the sister who started was Lily.

"Seaking, go !"

" Casper, go." said Nathan.

"Casper use Confuse Ray and follow with Night Shade."

Doing as he was told Gastly, hit Seaking on his right side.

"Seaking use Water Pulse." said Lily. But Seaking was confused and swam in one of the pool's edge taking more damage.

"Use Lick and Night Shade again."

After Gastly attack, Seaking was once again sent to the edge of the pool. Waiting to see if Seaking could continue. After ten seconds the referee said.

"Seaking is unable to continue, Gastly is the winner. Send your next pokemon."

Taking her sister's place, Violet sent a Seel.

"You're not bad. Go Seel use Ice shard."

"Casper, dodge and use Hypnosis." ordered Nathan.

Gastly floating to the left dodged Seel's attack and used Hypnosis, making the later fall asleep.

"Come back Casper and come to play Ivy." said Nathan, sending out Swadloon.

"Use Razor Leaf at full power."

Swadloon taking a few seconds to send the most powerful Razor Leaf she ever used to the sleeping Seel. The Razor Leaf hit Seel right on the mark, sending him in one of the walls outside the battleground making him faint.

"Seel is unable to continue, Swadloon is the winner. Please send your next pokemon." said the referee.

Violet calling back Seel looked sadly at her pokeball and sighed, letting the spot for Daisy. The blonde girl had a serious face and didn't dare to take lightly this new challenger.

"Goldeen go, I'm counting on you."

"Ivy come back." recalled Nathan.

"It's your turn Kelpie. Use Ice Beam."

"Goldeen dive in the water and use Horn Attack."

The Goldeen dodged the the Ice Beam by diving underwater, it moved right under Horsea and used its Horn Attack to send Horsea flying in the air.

"Kelpie use Twister with Bubble." said calmly Nathan.

The Twister and Bubble hit the Goldeen who hadn't fallen back into the water. Still being inside the Twister while Horsea had fell back into the water, Goldeen couldn't do anything.

" Kelpie use Ice Beam again."

Kelpie executed his trainer order and launched an Ice Beam toward the defenseless Goldeen, knocking it out and ending the match.

"Goldeen cannot continue, Horsea is the winner. The challenger Nathan win the match." proclaimed the referee.

The three sisters making their way toward him said.

"You are not really bad. I hope you will continue to win and participate in the League." said Lily.

"Yeah you better not lose and not even qualify for the League, because I will skin you alive." said Violet while faking threat.

"congratulation, this is the Cascade badge, proof that you won here." said Daisy with a smile, giving Nathan his second badge.

"Thanks, and don't worry I will participate in the League and win it." replied Nathan.

After going back to the Pokemon Center and healing his pokemon, Nathan took all of them to the back of the Pokemon Center where there was a pond.

"Look guys,this is our second badge, we need six other and we will be able to participate in the Indigo League. That's where the best trainer from Kanto fight to decide the best and after the winner can fight against the Elite Four and the Champion who stand at the apex of the region." he said showing them the cascade badge.

"We will go there and show everybody what we can do."
