Not only was there a huge increase in the status of pidgeotto after evolution it has also learnt many new attacks. Alex was very happy by looking at the status page then he noticed something 'why is the mastery level decreasing, is there a problem with the evolution, should ask a professor maybe he knows something about it'

Alex asks the professor about it on returning to the lab."professor does the mastery level of a move decrease as the Pokemon evolves".

Professor Oak: so you experienced it..... Is nothing much actually after evolution every Pokemon will have a hard time controlling their new powers. Mostly it takes a day or two to regain their previous mastery.

Alex: is that all.....oh... I thought something bad happened during the evolution. I'll go and talk to pidgeotto about it...see you later professor..

Alex returns back pidgeotto and talks to it about what professor said and they decide to train pidgeotto so that it gains back its mastery levels.

2 days later....During dinner

Alex: professor I was thinking about continuing my journey from tomorrow.

Professor Oak: good to have learn almost everything , is it go and see the world now. So where do you think to challenge first?

Alex: any advice is professor?

Professor Oak: you see Alex every Gym has their own rules. For example Viridian city Gym leader Giovanni has set the rule that the Challenger should have at least one Pokemon at the top Elite level. Although Giovanni will not use his strongest king level Pokemon his pokemons will be atleast at the mid or high champion level. Although there are weaker gym rules, getting a badge from Giovanni is a proof of your strength. So I suggest you start with pewter city gym and then work your way up.

Alex: Thank you professor.. Pewter city was my first target too.

.....

The journey continues....
