Chapter 37 - Marshadow's weakness
'This is something I didn't thought Marshadow would use.' Itsuki felt little nervous. But suddenly severals palms appeared behind Zera and landed on her back.
Assurance! Zera fall on the ground and looked seriously injured.
Itsuki gritted his teeth and thought. 'Assurance inflicts damage and will deal double damage if the target has already received damage.'

Eevee - [This is the first time I am big sister having such tough time defeating a opponent.]
Dragonair - [The opponent is very tricky. I am not even sure if big sister will able to win this match.] Articuno, Riolu and Magikarp just kept watching the battle. Only Articuno knew the battle was far from being over.

Zeraora struggled to get up. Itsuki panicked a little since this was the first time he had seen Zeraora so injured.
Seeing Zeraora stand, Itsuki relaxed a little and looked for a way of countering Marshadow hiding ability.
'Marshadow will use this chance to finish Zera.' Itsuki was also waiting for this chance. "In that case, Zera envelope your whole body with blue lightning." Zera did as Itsuki told her to do.

As expected, Marshadow appeared behind Zeraora and was about to use close combat. Itsuki was not going to let Zera get hit with this attack, if she does get hit then it would be very difficult for Zera to keep fighting.
"Zera, quickly use flash steps to dodge." Marshadow couldn't land a punch on Zera as she had disappeared from her position and appeared behind Marshadow at extremely fast speed.

"Now close combat on Marshadow." Zera landed a punch on Marshadow's side face while maintaining the blue lightning enveloped around her body.
'As expected Flash step is our biggest trump card since even a high level pokemon cannot keep up with Zera's speed when using Flash steps.' Itsuki didn't use flash steps before because he wanted to test Zara's other abilities against Marshadow. Itsuki wanted to find where or at which area she was lacking.

But to everyone's surprise, Marshadow took the second punch and before the kick could hit Marshadow, Marshadow began to sink on the shadow from his feet. This caught Itsuki and everyone was surprise. In second Marshadow entered the shadow again.
"Zera, don't let your guard down. Keep the blue lightning wrapped around your body. Dodge whenever you feel Marshadow's attack coming."

"I have to do something which could allow me to counter Marshadow and prevent him from hiding in the shadow. Let's see, Shadow is canceled out light. Light and Shadows are opposite to each other." Itsuki looked at around and found that the entire battlefield was covered in shadows of trees.
'So the way to counter Marshadow is by removing all the shadows and let light hit the battlefield.'

Meanwhile, Marshadow already had taken large amount of damage so he came out of the shadow to use Drain punch which could drain the opponent's health and restore the user's health. But again Zera managed to dodge since she was continuously using Flash steps.

Again Marshadow jumped out from the shadow of Zera and went for another Drain punch, again Zera easily dodged. Marshadow land on the ground and again entered the shadow.
'This whole process is getting annoying.' Itsuki looked at the pair of orange and yellow looking at Zera from the shadow. Seeing this Itsuki remembered seeing the same thing before entering the Haunted Mansion.

Marshadow again opened his eyes in the shadow and was about to attack Zera from behind. But Itsuki saw his glowing eyes and knew something was coming.
"Zera, quickly use close combat on your shadow." Zera didn't understand why Itsuki wanted her to attack her own shadow. Zera knew this was not going to work since no physical attack can harm Marshadow when it hides in the shadow.

Zera also didn't doubt Itsuki and attacked her own shadow which had a pair of orange and yellow glowing eyes looking at her.
Zera' first punch, instead of landing on the ground it land on a body and then Marshadow was forced to come out of it's shadow. Seeing this Zera continued to shower Marshadow with multiple punches and kicks.

After taking the full power of close combat, Marshadow fall on the ground with blood coming out from severals places on its body.
Seeing this everyone knew who had won the battle. Eevee, Dragonair, Magikarp, Riolu even Articuno was happy that Itsuki and Zera won the battle.

Zera looked at Itsuki and she couldn't help but ask.
Zeraora - [Itsuki, how did find Marshadow's weakness?] Zera had fought Marshadow multiple times in the past but every time due to this annoying ability of Marshadow, Zera always lost to him.
"Well I just remembered that we could sense Marshadow whenever it opened it's eyes in the shadow. I also found that Marshadow needs to open its eyes to attack from it's shadow, so I thought at that time, Marshadow would be affected by physical attacks."

"There is also another thing, Marshadow cannot use this ability of his when there is no shadow in the battlefield." Hearing Itsuki knowing about his weakness Marshadow opened its eyes and stood up. In this battle, Marshadow was more than convinced that Itsuki was the only human who can make him even more stronger. Marshadow became determined to follow Itsuki. Zera and others also looked at Itsuki in admiration, to able to remain calm and find the opponent's weakness is not something that everyone could do.

Itsuki took out two healing potions from his inventory. Itsuki didn't worry about his secret being exposed since Itsuki's pokemon wouldn't betray him. Itsuki gave one healing potion to Marshadow and another to Zera.
"Everyone, I think we should move to another location and eat there. Since I don't feel good about eating next to a graveyard even if this place was abandoned."

Itsuki's pokemon's also agreed with him and moved to another location. While walking, Itsuki could see Riolu looking at Marshadow and Zera in admiration. After witnessing such amazing battle and knowing how strong his big sister is, Riolu couldn't wait to get stronger and evolve into a Lucario.
The same could be said for Magikarp, who right now had a look of desperate to evolve and get stronger as Magikarp knew that he was the weakest member in the whole team.

After arriving at another location, It was already lunch time and everyone couldn't wait to try Itsuki's cooking. Even Articuno looked impatient.
Itsuki ordered everyone except Articuno to help gather some dry woods, Itsuki also warned them to not go far from this place. Itsuki then began to cut vegetables and prepare Farfetch'd meat. Itsuki had stored different pokemon's meat in his inventory. The inventory kept everything fresh because time is stopped in the inventory. So even a warm food remain warm if the food is taken out 1 month or even 1 year later.

As usual everyone liked what Itsuki cooked for them. Even the new pokemon Marshadow also loved the food that Itsuki made.
Zeraora - [ Didn't I told you that my master is awesome. He is best at everything.] Zera looked at very proud.
Marshadow also have to agree. - [ I don't think I could live without eating master's cooking.] After lunch, Everyone was resting under a tree. Even Articuno was enjoying the sunlight while closing her eyes.

"It's so hot." Itsuki was lying next to Articuno, enjoying the cold sensation coming from her feathers.
"With Zera's speed and Marshadow's special ability, it won't be difficult to beat Sabrina or at least that's what I am hoping for. After that I should contact the person who can help me with my app's promotion. So many works to do." Itsuki closed his eyes and sighed.

Then a image of Cynthia and a certain honey hair colored girl's appearance came to his mind. "I was already missing her. But now I also miss Cynthia. After arriving at the city, Itsuki first went to the pokemon center which was very different from other cities. After entering the city, Itsuki was attracted to the pokemon center because the pokemon center looked very unique. The building was more like a tower with a pokemon center logo at the middle of the tower.
