36 Chapter 36 - Marshadow

Marshadow resembles a shadow and has a wispy figure. It is predominantly black and seems to be wearing some sort of helmet. The helmet has two horn/ear-like appendages with a wispy smoke in the center. Its eyes are orange-red with an oval on top. Its arms possess a bump on each wrist. Marshadow appears to wearing a collar and its legs have a shadowy trail. It has a tiny mouth.

As Zenith Marshadow, its headgear, bumps and collar flare up with green yellow flames, and its eyes also flare up.

Since it hides in the shadows of others, it's very shy and secretive. Using its shadow abilities, it becomes the shadows of others and imitates them, eventually becoming even stronger than the person it is imitating.

Natural abilities

Marshadow likes to stay hidden from people, making it unknown to humans and leading most people thinking that it is a myth. Like Gengar, it can hide in shadows. It can turn into its alternate form, Zenith Marshadow, when attacking or enraged.

While Zeraora looked at Marshadow as blue sparks of lightning was forming on her palms, ready to attack anytime. Unlike Itsuki, Zeraora has met Marshadow multiple times in the Alola region but that was long time ago when both of them was just too weak.

[How did you came here?] Zeraora asked in surprise

Marshadow [I can go anywhere by hiding myself in the shadow.]

Zeraora coldy replied -[I don't care why you came here? But if you dare to even think of hurting Finn then I will you 100 times.]

Marshadow coldly smiled and asked - [Interesting. Since when the cold Zeraora learned to love a human? I thought you hated humans.]

"Hmph!"

Zeraora snorted and didn't reply.

Zeraora threateningly asked -[Tell me why did you follow us?]

Marshadow - [I am just curious. I have that your master is very strong. Maybe the strongest human I and you ever met.]

Zeraora - [That's to be expected. He is my master after all.] Zera felt very proud of Finn.

Marshadow glanced at Finn and smirked. - [I heard your Master wanted to catch ghost type pokemon so fight the Saffron city gym leader.]

Zera glared at Marshadow and asked - [Get to the point.]

Marshadow looked at smiling Itsuki then looked at Zeraora. [I want to fight you. If you can defeat me then I will become your master's pokemons and If I can defeat you then I will leave. If you lose that would mean, you are trainer is weak and pathetic.]

Zeraora didn't look angry instead she smiled and asked. [Now I get it, you just want to know much strong I have become after following Master. Don't worry, I have become strong to the point I can defeat you.]

Marshadow - [I always was stronger than you. Even back in Alola, we fought and I defeated you multiple times. Over the years, I have become even stronger than before.]

Marshadow looked at Itsuki and said. [yes, I admit it, I will only follow your Master if he can make me stronger. If you lose then it means your trainer is a trash and not worthy of holding a mythical pokemon.]

Marshadow looked at Zeraora and said. [But I have to admit, your new form is really cool and beautiful. I am little jealous of your new form.]

Hearing Marshadow words, Zera smiled playfully. [Of course. My master was the one who helped me in achieving this new look. Even my blue lightning is also part of it.] The more Marshadow heard the more Marshadow wanted to become Finn's pokemon so that he could also become strong and even get a new form.

Marshadow couldn't take it anymore and said. [Let's fight.]

Zeraora didn't say anything instead looked at Itsuki. Zera knew that unlike other trainer, Itsuki had the power to communicate with pokemon. Itsuki can understand pokemon language. Itsuki also understood what Zera and Marshadow was talking about but he kept his mouth shut.

"I have to say, it's not everyday where you find two mythical pokemons fighting each other." Finn said with a grin

"Woooo, Marshadow attacks are pretty damn cool. Marshadow could have defeated Zeraora if she didn't had speed related moves. Fortunately I had thought Zera speed related attacks." Itsuki can't wait to fight a mythical pokemon.

"Let's start fighting." Itsuki excitedly said. Zera knew that her master was a battle junkie just like her.

"Hold on Master, we can't fight in the graveyard. Let's fight somewhere else." Marshadow also agreed with Zera.

Itsuki, Zera and Marshadow arrived at the forest located behind the graveyard, behind the graveyard there was a small open field. People or trainers didn't came here because of the abandoned graveyard so Itsuki doesn't have to worry about seen by humans.

'I don't want to be disturbed like earlier.' Itsuki didn't wanted to be interrupted in this battle so he called the whole gang out.

"Come out everyone."

Itsuki's every pokemon can out and looked at Itsuki. The moment they saw Marshadow everyone showed curiosity. Ignoring their curious gazes, Itsuki said.

"I want everyone to guard this area and keep other pokemons away from this place. I don't want any interruption during this battle. Especially you Articuno, help us our, I will give you tasty food in exchange." Finn knew Articuno liked tasty food so he used this to make her do the work.

Articuno [Fine, I will kill any pokemon that comes near. Although I doubt there would be any pokemon who approach us after seeing everyone here.]

Dragonair - [I will go and scout the surroundings.] She then flew off in the air.

Eevee - [I will protect our little brother and cheer for big sister.] Eevee sat beside Magikarp and Riolu. Riolu also stood beside Eevee, he was little shy and did not speak much.

"Now let's fight." Itsuki said with a grin. Seeing Itsuki's grin, his pokemons are not surprised. Itsuki always has been a battle junkie and really would get excited.

Marshadow stood facing Zera in the opposite side 10 meters away from Zera. Itsuki stood behind Zera. As for Zera, her entire body was showing blue lightning sparks, showing how excited she was for this battle.

Marshadow also changed its appearance, As Zenith Marshadow, its headgear, bumps and collar flare up with green yellow flames, and its eyes also flare up.

"Zera, let start his battle with close combat."

Both Marshadow and Zera started with close combat. Both rushed towards each other, both of them started to land punches and kicks while ignoring the other.

"Close Combat inflicts damage and then lowers the user's Defense stat and Special Defense one stage. Luckily for us we can avoid Marshadow attacks with our speed."

"Zera use Aura sphere."

Zera created a blue sphere and threw it towards Marshadow. Red and yellow fire wrapped around Marshadow's left palm. Marshadow easily destroyed the aura sphere with fire punch.

Seeing this Itsuki knew he had to use something else, so Itsuki said. "Zera, use volt tackle." Blue lightning glowed in Zera's body and she charged towards Marshadow at high speed.

Marshadow's suddenly glowed in yellow thunder but then the yellow thunder suddenly disappeared and Zera got the chance to land the perfect hit and send Marshadow flying.

'It looks like Marshadow tried to use copycat but failed but why?'

[Master it may be because even with copycat one cannot copy moves used by Aura. Currently Zera's blue lightning indicating that she was also using little bit of her Aura to make her lightning powers even more stronger.]

Finn nodded. "Zera, don't let Marshadow any chance to rest, use Aura sphere again." Finn wanted to use type advantage to end this battle. Dark type is weak against fighting type.

Two blue sphere formed on Zera's hand and she threw both Aura sphere at Marshadow who just landed on the ground. But to everyone's surprise, Marshadow quickly hid himself in the shadow. Entering the shadow allowed Marshadow to escape from Zera's attacks.

'This is something I didn't thought Marshadow would use.' Itsuki felt little nervous. But suddenly severals palms appeared behind Zera and landed on her back.

Assurance! Zera fall on the ground and looked seriously injured.

Itsuki gritted his teeth and thought. 'Assurance inflicts damage and will deal double damage if the target has already received damage.'
