11 Viridian Forest!

The next morning, I woke up early. The previous night, I had rented a room in the Pokemon center to stay over and rest.

I looked to my left, and Charmander was sleeping soundly by my side.

Being careful not to wake the little guy up, I silently went to the bathroom for a much-needed shower.

Ahh, nothing beats a nice shower in the morning. I have to enjoy these while I'm not camping.

After dressing up, Charmander started to wake up slowly.

I then witnessed the unbelievably cute sight of it stretching.

"Let's go have breakfast, Charmander."

"Char!"

Understanding my words, it woke up completely and started running towards the door. Was it that hungry?

Before heading to the restaurant, I stopped by the counter and gave back the room card to nurse Joy. She accepted them with her usual smile.

When we finally made it to the restaurant, Red and Green had already taken a table. Not wasting any time, I bought us breakfast and sat down with them.

Green was absent-minded, but Red had a lot to say like usual.

While Charmander was wolfing down its breakfast along Bulbasaur and Squirtle, I started thinking about yesterday.

The Mankeys thankfully made it and were released back into the wild. Green also released their mother along with them.

He said that he wasn't qualified to be her trainer anymore.

It was a sad moment. But before she left, the mother gestured for Green to wait. She then went back into her den.

What surprised us, was that she then came out holding another baby Pokemon. This time it was an Eevee.

I wasn't sure why it had it, but I just assumed that it found it and took it in as one of her own. I talked about it with the professor before going to sleep, and he said it was probable.

The special thing about that Eevee though, was that it was silver. In other words, it was a shiny Eevee.

How lucky can a person get? I have to admit, I envied Green a little there.

Although he rejected it at first, after a while, the Mankey managed to convince Green. He then captured the small Eevee.

Those were the events that led to the current situation. Although I was envious, I'm fine now. After all, he let me study it last night.

Professor Oak also benefitted from my research files.

All in all, yesterday was quite the eventful day.

After eating and chatting for a while, we parted ways once more.

I don't know when will be the next time I see them, but I do hope they get stronger on their journeys.

As I left the Pokemon Center, my phone started ringing. It was the merchant from yesterday.

"Moshi-Moshi. How have you been, Nojima-San?"

His name was Shigeru Nojima. Or just Nojima.

"Hahahaha! Your formulas were real! My boss wants to meet you! by the way, keep it a secret... But he's Silph's president!"

Ohh, so it went that well?

Wait. What?

"To ne honest, I'm pretty high up in Silph. I came back home to Viridian for my break and went to inspect the mart to check the service quality. You truly were lucky this time."

"You might already know this, but your formulas are a revolution in the scientific world. With the elevated efficacy they bring to our potion items, even the cheapest potion will be two times as effective!"

"We are willing to give you a thirty percent in all of the sales of the items made using your formula. This includes every Poke Mart in Kanto and Jhoto. There will be more potential benefits when we start expanding outside the region."

"Furthermore, we offer you five percent of stocks in our company and advance payment in thanks. How does that sound?"

Wait a minute. Let me take this in. Breathe in, Breathe out. Pinch my cheek... yes, I am awake.

What on earth?! I'm rich! Struggling to put on a straight face, I responded.

"Okay, that sounds good to me. Send it all to my account, and any documents that need to be signed can be sent through my Pokedex. I will send them back instantly."

"Perfect. Also, I would like to mention that whenever you feel like it, Silph's doors are always open for brilliant minds like yours. Bye now."

With that, he hung up. A couple of minutes later, I received a notification from my digital account balance.

"One, two, three, four, five... Six zeros!" This was just the 'Thank You' payment!

I can't believe that Silph got involved. I only expected the upgrades that I had researched with the system to be a small business within the shops in the area...

Now that I'm rich... I have to spread the love a little, no? I'm gonna make more money in the future anyway.

Charmander, who was there as everything happened, thought that his master had gone crazy.

-----------------//

That same day, Pallet town received a huge anonymous donation. The government was wide-eyed but had no one to thank.

They thus lowered taxes for a month in celebration, leading the town to burst in happiness.

But that's a story for another day.

-----------------//

Finally, I made another quick stop at the Poke Mart. I bought a decent amount of Pokeballs and enough potions to last me for a day.

Although I had my medicine, it only served to alleviate pain and heal the Pokemon's internal injuries. Potions would increase their Hp, but they would still have internal injuries.

Don't ask me how it works. I don't understand the System myself. It seems that everything made with it is groundbreaking.

Having done everything that I needed to in this city, I headed out to the trail leading to Viridian Forest.

I mean, there was the gym... But it was closed down like in the games, so no badge for now. I guess.

On the way to the forest, Charmander and I came across a couple of new Pokemon.

I caught an Oddish and a Bellsprout. Charmander's efforts against Blue were not in vain, as his level went up to twelve.

Man, he's so close to evolving. I can't wait to have a Charmeleon...

The forest and the trail weren't separated by a building, so you could just enter by normal means.

Although there was already a predefined trail to pass through.

As I walked through, I looked around with Charmander and what we saw was beautiful, to say the least.

The massive trees, the lush grass. The Pokemon moving around, and the peculiar smell.

I have to admit, I've never seen such a beautiful forest in my life.

As we kept going through the trail, I noticed a tree with multiple golden and green objects hanging from it. With a closer look, I realized these were Kakuna and Metapod.

Before I could approach them though, they began emitting a strange light.

Their shells started cracking... and from inside, a majestic butterfly, along with an intimidating bee made their way out.

They then flew away with the wind.

That was my first contact with evolution.

What a sight.
