23 Clefairy

'Okay... Think calmly...'

Calming myself down in face of this crisis, I activated the system's accelerated thought processing ability. Within a second, I was able to run through multiple scenarios in my head.

'Got it!'

Smiling, I placed my hands on my ears.

"Everyone! Cover your ears!"

Hearing my words, Red, Blue, and our Pokemon all listened to me. Mimicking our actions, the scientist also did as he was told.

Ivysaur used its vines to plug his ears while Dratini quickly burrowed its head underground.

"What are you-"

Before the rocket grunts could do anything, I shouted.

"Exeggcute! Use uproar at full power!"

"Exe... Exeggcute!!"

Remembering all of it had cone through because of these grunts, Exeggcute inhaled deeply before releasing a powerful soundwave.

Seeing this, the Grunts tried to block their ears but it was too late. They all screamed in pain as blood trickled down their ears.

The one that was holding the scientist dropped his knife and fell to his knees, unable to take the sound attack.

Of course, we didn't come out unscathed either. My ears were ringing and I could feel a massive headache coming on.

Even so, I gave one look at Charmeleon, and he nodded, understanding my intentions.

Still in pain from Exeggcute's attack, Charmeleon sped towards the Nidoking and blasted it with a dragon-rage, finishing it off. It then proceeded to burn down the Arbok with a fully powered Ember.

Not needing me to tell it what to do, it finished off the job by propelling another dragon-rage, this time towards the Sandslash.

"CHAR!"

I watched as Charmeleon walked on Sandslash's unconscious body, roaring with dominance, having easily conquered the enemy.

Both of those Pokemon were not only a higher level than it, but one was also a ground-type. Even so, Charmeleon made perfect use of their weakened state to deliver the final blow.

Smiling, I looked at his level. It had gone from level twenty-two to twenty-four in one fell swoop. Next to him, Exeggcute had reached level twenty-one.

"Ngh..."

Suddenly, I noticed the grunt from earlier crawling towards the knife that he dropped. Before I could do anything about it, Red's Ivysaur picked the knife up with its vines and threw it far away, crushing the grunt's hopes.

Unable to hold on any longer, he also fell unconscious, like his partner.

"Nice, Shawn! Good thinking!"

lowering down his hands, Red ran up to me with Pikachu in his arms, clearly excited. Through the system, I saw that his Pokemon had each gained a level.

"Yeah, but next time make it so that you don't injure us too!"

With a smile, Blue and Dratini also walked over. It seemed like all of us had suffered collateral damage.

"Well, we ended up winning, right? Let's not complain about it. It was a life-or-death issue."

"Indeed it was! You kids saved my life... My name is Honda. May I know yours?"

"No problem, Honda-san! We couldn't just leave you like that! By the way, I'm Red, and these two are Shawn and Blue."

Hearing our names, Honda smiled in thanks as he shook our hands.

"I can't thank you enough... As payback, please let me take you to a special area in this cave. I found it during my search for fossils, I'm the only one that knows about it!"

"What's makes it so special?"

Curious, I asked Honda for further explanation. Smiling, he took out his smart-phone and showed us a picture.

In the image, A massive, dark stone could be seen laying in the middle of a horde of Clefairies.

"What's that?!"

"Look closely."

Honda then showed us a video of one of the Clefairys touching the stone. Suddenly, it shined brightly and evolved into a Clefable, as the other Clefairies danced around it.

"Moonstone!"

"Correct. That area is filled with the rare species, Clefairy. Their small colony worships the stone, and they only use it when one of their members has reached a certain level of strength."

But how? Weren't moonstones small and rare? That rock was probably three times my size! The only way I could explain it... A meteorite.

"I've been studying them for the last few months, and even managed to catch myself one of them... Come out, Clefairy!"

Reaching into his pouch, Honda retrieved a Pokeball and threw it into the air, releasing a small, pink Pokemon. As soon as it came out, it started doing a small dance, Clefairy style,

"CUTE!"

With a high-pitched scream, Blue grabbed the Clefairy and hugged it tightly. Weirded out, the small Pokemon looked at its trainer for help.

Ignoring Clefairy's pleas, Blue looked at Honda with a deadly-serious expression.

"Take us there... Immediately!"

---------------------------------------------------

On the way to the scientist's secret spot, I analyzed his Clefairy with the system. It was a Fairy-type, confirming my suspicion.

Fairy-types did exist in this version of the Pokemon Universe.

Although I didn't care too much about it, I felt like it was something I needed to confirm, just in case.

Anyway, the way there was not an obvious one. The books I had used to fill my database did not contain any information on this route that we were following.

After a while, we finally reached a small opening. Walking through it, it was as if we entered a whole different place... As if we traveled to another world.

In contrast to the darkness we were previously in, this portion of the cave was illuminated by the huge rock in front of us. Although it was pitch-black, its luster gave clarity to all of us.

The rare minerals growing throughout this area were like stars that shined in the dimly-lit cave. Around the huge stone, a bunch of Clefairy were happily dancing.

"My god... So beautiful..."

"Ah... So breathtaking!"

Hearing blue and Red's comments, Charmeleon, Ivysaur, and Dratini also looked around in appreciation of this place's overflowing beauty,
