"Wohh!! It is like a huge forest.", mumbled Axel looking at the view.

The place was very different then from the well-structured building on the outside. Axel was inside the training building of the Venu family. After Axel lost the battle, the man of Venu's family felt pity for him. He felt that he bullied the young guy cause of his anger.

So, as an apology, he invited Axel to Venu's family's main mansion which surprisingly was not very far away. It took around 2 hours for his car to reach there. Shedinja and Nidoran were getting checked up, just to make sure that everything is okay.

"Ok.. You can get a tour of the mansion later. The leader wants to meet with you.", said the man.

"Why would your leader want to meet with me? Why am I here in the first place actually? You didn't talk in the car about it.", replied Axel with another question.

"The hell would I know why the leader wants to meet with you? I don't know what goes in her head. I reported our fight to the leader and she decided to meet with you. Now come on, the leader doesn't like to wait.", said the man.

"You still not going to tell me your name?"

"No.."

This was the main headquarter of the Venu family. The family didn't have lots of branches in the Kanto region. But the Venu family was a power to be recognized. The land inside the castle was huge. Axel could not predict how vast the land and the properties were but it should be much larger than the biggest cities on Earth.

There were training rooms, a medical hall, commercial centers, residential buildings, a trainer's camp, a fucking school, and a huge forest. They even had a Pokemon center and marts too. Famous buildings like Brew'd Awakening, league association, Pokemon traders, and auctions were also present.

This has changed the whole dynamics of the Pokemon world in Axel's mind. In anime or games, the concept of starter families didn't exist. Looking at this, Axel was forced to assume that things are not as simple as it was in anime. He thought that he would have a competitive edge cause he knew about anime and games but now he was starting to realize that he could be wrong.

It took around 25 minutes of continuous walking for them to reach their destination. The guy next to Axel didn't even say the word and Axel didn't mind. He was still worried about Shedinja but he already knew it was okay with no lasting damage.

After going inside multiple doors, they finally reached the top floor of the building. The room was brightly lit and there was a huge round table inside. There were multiple chairs and only 1 person was sitting in the chair with all the chairs empty.

The woman was around in her 40s with long curly hair, wearing a green shirt and blue jeans. She had a coat on top of her though it was not winter. The woman smiled and said, "Oh, welcome young man to my humble adobe."

Seeing the grin on her face, Axel was confident that this woman was the mother of this arrogant man. Cause she also had an arrogant aura covering her. But since this was one of the biggest families in the Kanto region, he decided to act politely.

"Thank you, mam. But could I ask, why did you want to meet with me?"

"Oh, a man of not many words. Well, I have heard about your fight with my son which leads me to think that you are a very capable trainer. So I would like you to extend an invitation to join our family. What do you say about that?", said the woman.

"What?!!!… What are you saying Mom?", shouted the man.

"Shut up, I am your leader when we are in this room. How many times have I told you this Richard? And this is the decision that I came up with after consulting with the elders. So keep quiet.", said the woman.

Axel was also shocked when he heard the proposal. He didn't know why this man was shocked too but he frankly didn't care. Getting along with Venu's family would be a boon for him as he would have a powerful backer but he was already backed up by Koga.

"Mam, before I ask anything about this invitation, I would have to tell you that, I am already backed up by Mr. Koga.", said Axel.

"Oh.. You don't need to worry about that LAT thing. This and that are completely different things. You would just be a part of the Venu family. You don't have to change your surname if you are worried about it."

"What benefits would I get joining your family and what do I have to do to get it?", asked Axel.

"The benefits are numerous like you could access our training room, the forest, and expert advice on training your Pokemon. You could also get some rare items and Pokemons, of course, you would have to pay for them but these items and Pokemons would be of much higher quality than in the market.

The duty would be, any quest of league association, any Pokemon or items you would want to sell to Pokemon traders, you would have to do it from Venu family. Venu family also has a branch of these associations and we get a certain benefit from them you see. And there are some missions that you would have to complete if you are tasked with it.

The missions are rare to encounter so they would not affect your daily life and the final thing, from this day forward you would be a part of the Venu family"

"So, if I ever wanted to leave the family, would I be able to do so?", asked Axel. He was curious about this. Cause if it ever occurs to him that the benefits of joining the Venu family were lower than the duties he had to perform, he would leave the family.

"You could, but there are some conditions that you would need to fulfill. First, there must be a valid reason to leave the family. It may be that the family is treating you harshly, or you are not receiving any benefit from it, and so on.

And of course, you would have to pay a huge price to leave the family. The price of that would be determined at that time. But I feel that you would benefit more from this transaction. The backing of the Venu family is not a small thing. You could ask for help from the family members at the time of need too."

"I would have to think about it. You see it is not a small decision", said Axel

"It is ok. I didn't expect you to answer now. You may leave now and give me your decision tomorrow. There is a guard outside the building. Your apartment has already been decided. He will guide you there. And yes, my name is Angela."

Axel gave a polite nod and went outside of the building.

"Ok you may ask your questions now Richard.", said Angela after Axel was outside the room.

"What are you doing mother? We from the Venu family have never accepted an outsider as a part of our family. Aren't you the one who use to say about the importance of the blood of family?

We are not ruffians like Toise and Zard family that would accept anyone to our family. What about our legacy, our secret training methods? Are we going to disclose that to the whole world now?", Richard was fuming with anger.

He was shaking from anger when he said those words. His mother was never the mature type of leader that one would expect but he never thought that she would do something like this.

Hearing her son's antics, she let out a sigh and said "I with elders have decided that we need to change our thinking. For years, we have hidden ourselves, unlike the Toise and Zard family. We were the most powerful families before but now it doesn't seem to be the case. Our influence is extremely low now compared to the two families.

The strongest gym in the Kanto region belongs to the Toise family (Cerulean gym) and the Zard family controls the auction, so when it comes to items and Pokemons they are at the top. We only have this forest to our name but it may not be enough.

We need to prepare for the future now Richard. Our influence is so low that people don't even know that we exist. So we have decided to invite outsiders from now."

"But Mom, we are the most powerful family there is in the Kanto region. We have a Champion-ranked Pokemon. None of the other families have that.", said Richard in frustration. He was not liking this one bit.

The thought of having an outsider in their family had never crossed his mind before this. Venu family may have the lowest influence in the Kanto region but he believed that they are the most powerful.

"So what of it? My Venusaur may be Champion ranked, but how long do you think I would be alive? 100 years? 200 years? After that, we would have nothing. The young members of our family are pitifully weak. Only you and a few others have some talent. Not even all the elders are good. What do you think will happen after 200 years?

Our family will disappear from existence. So we need to prepare for the future. It may be hard to adjust at first but I believe that we would rise once again. And you are forgetting our main mission. The mission of our family is not to be the most powerful. The mission of our family is ….."

A/N- Let me know how you guys feel about this. About the family and all. I think it is a nice development. The MC has to get powerful fast but I do not want to make it unrealistic. so I added the family part.
