Hoenn Team

It was already 5 pm. The group had been introduced to the explorer team. They have been told that they would meet with the Hoenn group in the morning. Axel didn't think much about it. He and the group spent their time looking around the so-called military base. The island was huge. It was as big as a small country. They would never be able to explore all of it in 2 months. The group of explorers was very friendly. Axel could see a lot of Pokemons. All of them were fully evolved Pokemon. Charizard, Alakazam, Gengar, Blaziken, and many more.

The explorer group had set up a small party for the group. They enjoyed their stay here. They were told that they should be ready by 5 am in the morning.

"BOOOOOOOO!!!!

"What the fuck???" shouted a young man with silver hair. He stood up to check if it was an enemy attack. After a few seconds of total dilemma, he found the reason for the loud noise and started to curse the one responsible for it.

It was an alarm clock. More specifically, like a Spongebob alarm clock. The fog horn alarm clock was loud enough to scare nearby tents. Normally, Axel would wake up exactly at 4:50 a.m. But yesterday, he had too much to drink, hence he could not open his eyes in the morning. But the big-ass alarm clock had done the job.

Axel got up from the bed, folded the blankets, and made the sheets. He started to do his morning routine of showering, brushing his teeth and then getting ready. This early morning routine had been ingrained in Axel's blood. His father had trained him on it and being a Pokemon trainer made him follow the routine. But not everyone was as diligent as Axel.

"The fuck was that? You are telling me that everyone wakes up like that? That is fucking insane?"

"I apologize miss but this is how things go around here"

Lyra was furious about the fog horn alarm. Ryker and Lorelai were trying to calm her down but their faces showed that they were not happy either.

'Seemed like they are born with a silver spoon' thought Axel. Lyra was one of the girls who needed her beauty sleep. She was angry due to the alarm clock. Axel was realizing how hard it would be to spend these 2 months. They were like kids in a playground. Lance and Lorelai were okay but they were also not up to the standard.

They were escorted to have breakfast. "Didn't you guys have that wilderness training?", asked Axel.

"Yes, we did. But we were not woken up by such a loud alarm. The elders did warn us about the harsh environment we have to endure. But the food here is terrible. I don't think that I could handle it for 2 months.", said Lyra.

'So, it is not like I also had to get this wilderness training but these guys did' thought Axel. Axel made a deep sigh and thought about how spoiled these kids really were.

Lyra and Ryker were complaining about every single thing. Lorelai and Lance were also not better. They didn't say anything much but Axel could feel that they were super uncomfortable.

"The Hoenn team would be there in 5 minutes. After the other team gets here, you would be briefed.", said Boris. He was the same man who had briefed the group on the plane. He seemed to give a leadership vibe to Axel.

"Before the Hoenn team gets here, let's settle something.", said Axel.

"And what would that be?", asked Ryker

"Who would be the team leader of the group?", asked Axel.

"Do we have to do that? I mean we could all just cooperate.", said Lyra.

"I think Axel is right about this. This is an unknown island so we must have a team leader in the group. The explorer here seems to have a hierarchy too. They are far more experienced than us, so it must be a good thing", said Lance. This was the first time Axel had heard Lance talk so much. He may be the silent type but he seemed to be a good observant.

"So, who should be the team leader? Anyone interested?", asked Lorelai.

"I believe that I should do it.", said Axel.

3 heads stared at Axel's face with mild shock. "What? Why are you starring me for?"

"You just don't look like a guy who would volunteer for this stuff.", said Lorelai. Since Axel had shown minimal interaction with them, it was shocking that he would want to be the team leader.

"Why do you think that you should be the team leader? I think I would do a great job as a leader myself.", said Ryker. Ryker had stopped bullying Axel after he had seen his Pokemon but his personality was still the same.

"I don't want to sound harsh but all of you look like spoiled kids to me. You guys have never been too wild or lived like a normal trainer would."

"Oh really???" asked Ryker with an arrogant voice.

"Yes."

"He is right you know. I think he deserves the position of the team leader.", supported Lorelai. She also gave a stare to arrogant Ryker. This was an unknown island and she didn't want to take any risks. So, Axel being the team leader was a rational decision.

"All in favor of me being the team leader.", said Axel and raised his hand. All of them raised their hand except Ryker but after seeing that he would lose, he also raised his hand in the air.

"So, it is settled.", said Axel with a smile. After the decision, Axel wanted to plan this trip with his group but unfortunately, he was disturbed by a loud voice.

"You have grown old Boris. Still can't believe that you are waking with your 2 legs.", said the man with a different uniform. The man was old, tall with white hair and a white beard. Axel could see blue nerves trying to come out of his biceps.

"You are also not doing good yourself either.", said Boris with a displeased voice. It looked like they had some sort of rivalry. Axel guessed that the old man was a part of the Hoenn explorer team. Axel could also see 5 young kids behind him. Slowly, those young trainers revealed themselves and Axel was shocked cause he knew 2 of them.

The group murmured.

"Isn't that…"

"Yes, it is..

"It is Steven"

"And Wallace"
