385 Final Gym Badge Obtained!!!

Alakazam was not frozen in ice; it looked like it was made of ice. The scene right now was mesmerizing and terrifying. It looked very beautiful with the waves of ice following the sculpture of ice and freezing it.

When Axel told Alakazam to train its 'Greater Telekinesis' to level 40, he had a unique concept in mind. Telekinesis could do almost anything, and one thing it could also do was raise its body stats. So, Axel told it to do the same.

Training a Pokemon in psychic moves was not an easy task. Psychic moves were very mysterious and complicated. However, Alakazam, with its superhuman computing power and knowledge, started to train. After a month of training, two things had happened.

First, 'Greater Telekinesis' leveled up to 40, which let it deflect attacks more easily. It could also create a vacuum around the enemy Pokemon for a limited time and make them unable to breathe.

Increase in stats also happened, but the system recognized it as a new move, and Axel named it 'Enhance'.

'Enhance' would increase all of its body stats by 50%, but it could only do it for 5 seconds. Increasing all of its stats by 50% was a huge boost, and with the help of 'Calm mind,' which rapidly increased its special attack, and 'Elemental manipulation' of level 45, which increased the number of thunder spears from 3 to 6, Gyarados was heavily injured. Axel was even surprised that it could take the hit and keep standing.

The crowd was not very excited now. Even though Alakazam had powered up greatly, the result was still the same. It was still frozen, and the battle was over.

That was when Axel gave a rare smile and then he outright started to laugh out loudly.

"HAHAHA….. I know you would do that," said Axel.

The crowd was confused. They stared at Axel, and then they were woken up by Gyarados's painful scream.

Roarrrr…

All of them could see that Gyarados was starting to freeze too. None of them could tell what the hell was happening.

Within a few seconds, Gyarados was also completely frozen like Alakazam. The referee didn't know what to do now.

Being frozen was a complicated situation. So, in a gym battle, if a Pokemon is frozen for more than 30 seconds with no movement, it would be considered that they had fainted. Alakazam was already frozen for 20 seconds.

Axel took out his ball and called out Alakazam. He knew that it could not fight now. It would be frozen for more than 30 seconds, and it would lose the battle. After calling out Alakazam, he sent out another Pokemon.

"Nidorino, use 'Substitute' and 'Spinning poison'," said Axel.

He wanted it to be ready for battle, and just like he had imagined, Gyarados came out of its frozen status in 15 seconds. Cracks started to form around the ice, and then...

ROAAARRRRRR…

It cried out in anger. Axel could see that it was very angry and wanted to finish the battle, but unfortunately, it was out for 15 seconds, and by the time it came out, Nidorino had already fired the attack.

'Spinning poison' was a purple, oval-shaped attack that was continuously spinning at a high rate. It was also a fast attack. Gyarados didn't have time to counter the move and could only dodge it.

It moved its massive body with unbelievable speed and flexibility and dodged the attack. When you want to survive, you would do anything to do it.

However, it was unlucky. 'Spinning poison' was not an attack that would pierce you. It was an attack that would explode.

BBOOOOMMMMMMMM

The power of the explosion was more massive than before. Alakazam had done a great job, but nothing could beat 'Spinning poison'. It had also leveled up to 40, and Nidorino had charged that attack for 10 seconds, so it was very powerful.

Everyone was expecting Gyarados to roar again and be ready to fight. It had the endurance of a monster.

However, they would be disappointed as Gyarados had finally fallen, and it was fainted.

"Gyarados and Alakazam are unable to battle. Gym leader and the challenger are requested to send out your next Pokemon," said Karen.

The crowd went wild with the show. This was one of the most exciting battles they had ever seen.

"Did you like my new surprise?" asked Axel.

So, how was Gyarados frozen? It was due to Alakazam's ability 'Synchronize'. With this, if an opponent causes you to burn, paralysis, frozen, or poisoned, then the opponent receives the same status condition too. However, this was an active ability, not a passive one.

So, how did Gyarados get frozen when Alakazam was already frozen and was unable to move?

Simple, it had mastered its ability and turned the active to passive. So, even if Alakazam could not do anything while it was frozen, its ability activated itself.

Also, before being mastered, Alakazam could not share the frozen status with its opponent. It could only share burn, paralysis, and poison status. After mastering the ability, its power had been greatly boosted, and that was why Kent could still not figure out how Gyarados got frozen.

"Yes. I don't know how you did it, but it was a very good strategy," said Kent. He looked at Karen and said,

"I forfeit the battle."

"Can you tell me why?" asked Axel.

"I am going to use Blastoise next. Gyarados was my most powerful Pokemon, and you have two other Pokemon, which are also very competent. I know that I would lose this battle, and you would win it.

So, there is no point in fighting it. You have won the battle fair and square. You outdid yourself and overcame your shortcomings in just a month. You have all the qualities that an exceptional trainer should have.

Axel, I think you are now ready for the league," said Kent.

The crowd was cheering for them. They were disappointed that they could not see the last battle, but they knew that Axel would have won it either way.

Karen came with the badge, and Kent handed it over to Axel.

"Don't get me wrong. You are still not able to defeat any of the elite 4 or the champion, but I believe that you can beat all other contestants. So, train even harder and do the impossible," said Kent.

"So, how do you feel winning all the 8 badges?" asked Kent.

"Felt happy for a minute, and then I realized that I would have to prepare for elite 4 and the champion battle," said Axel with a sigh.

"Haha, you don't have to worry about that. Axel, nobody can be a champion in 2 years. That is a fact. The guys out there have been training for their entire life, and you think that you can knock them off in 2 years?

That is simply not possible. I want you to train and practice, but you also must have good mental health. Target the things that are achievable and work for it."

"Thanks for the pep talk," said Axel.

"You are most welcome. How are you going to train my daughters in the future if you don't even have good mental stability? Now, you have 7 months before the Kanto league battle starts.

You are to register 3 months before the start of the league battle. Remember that. You are also required to be registered as a master trainer before that time. I realized that you have not got your master rank trainer certificate.

So, what do you plan to do for 7 and a half months?"

"I have some places to go, but after that, I would just go home and train my Pokemon."

"That is a healthy attitude. Being with family is important. We train a lot and we burn ourselves. So, being with family helps us a lot in that regard.

Just like Morgan and Koga, I don't want to give you money cause you have a lot of it, but I also don't have any other thing that may interest you. So, what do you want? If it is something reasonable, I will provide that to you," said Koga.

Both of them were now in the waiting room. Food was served on the table. The hype of the battle was so high that they could not go to a restaurant right now.

Axel started to think about what he needs the most.

If it was about resources, he had them, and he also had the Venu family's backing.

If it was about getting a new Pokemon, he didn't need one.

If it was about recipe books for Pokemon, he already had that.

So, what did he really need now?

"Do you have a way I can make my Pokemon stronger in a short period of time?"

"Sorry Axel, there is no shortcut to power. There are some harsh training regimes, but I don't think they would be suitable for your Pokemon. There is no such way that you can make your Pokemon rank up to King rank within a short period of time."

Axel thought about another thing and came up with something.

"If I become a Pokemon champion, will you come work under me?"
