423 Another King rank
Red was shocked out of his mind. How could a human rank up so fast? Axel took a lot of time to rank up to uncommon rank and now he just ranked up to rare rank in just a couple of months.
If Axel were to tell him that he had made a rank-up condition and that was why he was a bit late in the rank-up, Red would have fainted from anger and jealousy.
Axel ranked up fast due to his talent 'Elemental overgrowth' which now applied to Axel too.
Axel stood up slowly after the pain had gotten away and then he looked at his stats:

There was some rise in his stats. It had now become harder to raise his stats. A new tab 'Psychic' was now available and it was 380. Axel had trained a lot to raise it to such a level.
All of his aura techniques had leveled up and psychic techniques had also leveled up to a satisfactory level.
He had finally reached rare rank!!!
Red was still shocked that Axel reached a rare rank in such a short time. He didn't tell Axel out loud but his expression said everything.
'Maybe there is hope for the future', he thought.
Only he knew what he was thinking.

Almost all of its grass-type moves had leveled up and most of them had crossed the threshold. Its health now stood at 7000!!!
That was a health bar for a normal king-rank Pokemon. He then realized the locket that MEW had given him and started to connect the dot.
The locket was very helpful. Normally, Venusaur would not be so powerful. Even though it had recently reached pseudo-king rank, these stats were not of pseudo-king rank Pokemon. These stats were for a peak rank pseudo-king rank Pokemon.
Axel then looked at the moves who had crossed the threshold.

Vine whip (Level 40): Can use 6 vines instead of 2
(Level 45): Can use the move independent from its body. Vine whip could not come from the grounds too. However, only 2 vines could be used for this method.
Synthesis (Level 40): Can recover 40% of health.
(Level 45): Can recover 50% of health.
(Level 50): Can recover 55% of health.
Leech Seed (Level 40): Can use 2 seeds simultaneously on 2 different Pokemons.
Razor Leaf (Level 40): The power and the area of the attack had increased massively.

Aromatherapy (Level 40): Can cure middle-level status effect. Before it could only cure low-level status effects and had to do it more times to be more effective.
Poison powder (Level 40): It has become more lethal and more effective.
Leech Whip (Level 40): Could heal serious wounds with enough time

Axel's head was ringing after seeing so many changes. Venusaur had practically become a new Pokemon. Most of its moves have crossed the threshold, its health had massively increased, its ability had risen to 100%, and its other stats had also risen quite nicely.
Even a peak pseudo-king rank Pokemon may not be able to win against Venusaur. The most powerful change was 'Solar beam' to level 55 and 'Field control' to level 54. These would be the most powerful attack of Venusaur.
"Venusaur, take 2 days off from training and try to get accustomed to your new form and moves upgrade."
"Venu.. Venusaur…..", it cried.
Axel could now sense what it was saying through 'Mental communication'.
It was saying that it wanted to meet its parents and take some days off. He was okay with it.
"Red's Alakazam could take you there but don't you want to compete in Blaze Pokemon competition? You can see how powerful you have become among your peers.", said Axel.
"Venuu.. VENUSAUR….."
It agreed to stay for a few days to see how powerful it had become. It was excited to try its new power.
3 months were left before the start of the league battle. Only 1 of his Pokemon had reached king rank. He could tell that Steelix was very close to reaching there.
It was only missing some stats upgrades and since Steelix had been a wild Pokemon before, it took a lot of time to upgrade its stats. Cause its stats must have been very low when it evolved and ranked up to pseudo-king rank.
So, it had to make up the difference when it was ranking up to king rank. Stats showed the system was very complicated. There were ranks but the ranks were not absolute. Like, F rank of defense in Venusaur when it was an elemental rank was different from F rank of defense when Absol was an elemental rank.
Venusaur's defense was way higher than Absol's. So even though the ranks were the same, the reality was different. However, even though there might be differences in power with the same rank, the system would always have a minimum requirement that a Pokemon must fulfill for the same rank.
That was why it was taking so much time for Steelix cause its stats were not very promising when it was a wild Pokemon.
Its attack was now on S++ rank and it just needed a little boost to reach SS rank.

Next day,
It was early in the morning and Axel was doing the warm-up exercise. The requirement of warm-up exercise had increased. Axel still had to complete 100 laps but now he had to do it in 4 hours. So, Axel had to maintain the speed of 125 km/hr for 4 hours. That might seem inhuman but this was not Earth. It was the world of Pokemon and Axel reached rare rank.
So, he could do it but it was still very taxing to his young body.
Axel was running around the house. He had already completed 80 laps and 20 more laps were left. He was huffing and puffing.

Steelix's attack has been upgraded to SS rank.

Steelix has fulfilled all the conditions for rank-up. It is now ranking up to King rank. Be prepared…..

A silver and brown colored glow enveloped Steelix. Axel took out a big pouch of soft sand from the box. It was a type-enhancing item for Steelix. Axel had paid a handsome price for it. Soft sand was hard to find in the wild.
Axel threw the soft sand's pouch toward Steelix cause the area around Steelix was very unstable now.
Sand started to brew out of nowhere. First, Axel felt that the surroundings were dirty with sand, then he started to feel the sand inside his mouth, then his nose and it started to affect him.
Axel had already told his family to go inside the home and take cover. The appearance of a king-rank Pokemon was not something a normal person could endure.
The sand in the surroundings evolved into a sandstorm and then a raging sandstorm. Axel already used 'Aura coat' to protect himself from the sandstorm but the force of the storm was so high that he was pushing back.
10 minutes of grueling storm and...

Axel then realized that he was now in a pinch. Unlike Charizard, Steelix was still not so close to Axel. Charizard understood Axel and calmed down but will Steelix do the same?
The storm was still raging. Axel was using his hand to cover up his face. The aura of a king-rank Pokemon was not a joke.
"Steelix, congratulations!!! You have finally ranked up. Now, calm down. I promised you to rank you up to king rank and I held my bargain. Are you not going to hold your end of the bargain?"
Steelix was feeling the rush from its rank-up. Ranking up to 'king rank' gave a different type of excitement or rush to a Pokemon. It was feeling that it was at the top of this world and it had reached its primal stage. Such a feeling was very addicting to any Pokemon.
Normally, wild Pokemon destroyed their entire homes and their family members in such a rush.
Axel kept his calm and repeated the same sentences over and over again. Finally, Steelix noticed Axel and heard what he was saying.
Red had already called his Beedrill for backup. It was a risky situation and he didn't want Axel to turn into a meat paste.
Finally, Steelix realized what was happening. Before it was feeling that it should not be under a human after gaining so much power but then it started to realize the conversation it had with Axel.
It was due to Axel that Steelix was so strong right now and it believed that Axel would help it reach another higher stage. Even though Axel was far weaker than itself, Axel's mind was something that it should respect.
It slowly started to calm down and the raging sandstorm started to decrease. Axel had already taught it how to control its aura. It tried to do it and within 10 minutes, the ground was clear and there were no sandstorms.
Axel came near it and patted its head saying that it had done a good job.
He told it to rest for a day and also planned to organize a mini party in his home for the celebration.
Slowly his family members came out of the house to see what had happened.
Steelix ranked up in the training ground which was far away from the house but still, they could feel and hear it while hiding inside the house.
"Axel, what the hell happened?", shouted his mother.
"Mom, language.", said his sister.
"Hm, sorry, what happened?", asked his mother again.
"Mom, that is what happens when a Pokemon ranks up to king rank. Steelix has finally ranked up to king rank now."
"Really, Wohhh, it is the first time I have seen a king-rank Pokemon. Can I come closer?", asked Noah.
"Yes, yes, of course. Steelix would not mind."
Noah had seen the whole world when Axel started to train with Red.
He had seen how the appearance of Steelix had changed. Axel told him the concept of 'Ancient power'. He had seen how Axel's Pokemon were able to create pre-domain moves. He had also seen 2 cores inside Nidoking, a new evolution of Nidorino.
Axel had given him so many shocks and thunderbolts that he had become numb now. Seeing all this, he concluded that Axel was a 'once in an era' genius. He was confident that he could not reach this stage even if he had not been injured in the past.
He felt glad that Axel got Abra from it and he got injured. Axel may not have reached such a height if that incident didn't happen. In some way or the other, in his subconsciousness, he finally forgave Axel today for ruining his life.
