48 S2E22:Goldenrod Gym

So after a short wardrobe change Foxx, Jessie and James left the hotel and headed for the Goldenrod Gym. Joy walked along side as did Meowlth as they strolled through the city.

"You know James dear I've never realized how nice this city was." sighed Jessie as she looked around.

"You're right Jessie we've always been too busy bidding or trying to steal pokemon that we've never taken the time to just enjoy things." sighed James.

"And this is only the beginning." replied Foxx "Together the tree of us will do and see many things as a family."

"Really? What about your gym?" asked James.

"Really it was just something to keep Brock and Misty busy while I worked on my research. Most likely my package from Professor Oak should have arrived thus I should be back to my studies." confessed Foxx

The trio then entered the gym and though for the first time in his matches against gym leaders he had to face two other trainers which wasn't really that hard seeing he'd managed to beat so many other gym leaders so far but he didn't allow that to hinder him. In fact he treated each battle as if it was just another proving ground for Joy. Finally he stood before Whitney, the Goldenrod Gym Leader.

"Another young victim here in hopes of walking away with a Plain Badge." playfully jested Whitney as she turned to face him.

"He who underestimates their opponent often finds themselves in defeat." replied Foxx with a smile as he slowly took his place t one end of the battle arena.

"Sounds as if you speak from experience." replied. Whitney as she took her place.

"Only from the expense of others underestimating me."replied Foxx with a bow awaiting her terms and when she didn't give them he offered, "Let's make this a doubles match of your best two verse my est two?"

"Finally someone who is willing to really pore on the challenge. I accept the challenge and mark this as an official gym battle." replied Whitney as she chose two poke balls and tossed them into the arena.

Out popped a Miltank and a Celfairy. Normal type so there goes any hope at a type advantage but also removes any chance of a type disadvantage. Foxx thought for a minute. Now he still only had two Pokémon but still he needed a plan because once he sent his Pokémon out the battle would begin. Then with a smile he lifted Eevee's poke ball from his belt and released her right next to Joy.

"Let's show her what it means to be a champion!" ordered Foxx and Eevee and Joy bolted into the arena and targeted Clefairy first.

You see Foxx knew hat yes Milttank had it's famous rollout move that only got stronger with each use and was hard to dodge but Clefairy could easily use sing and put both of his team to sleep. So first Joy hit Clefairy with an ember then Eevee hit it with a water gun which was an odd choice at first, but then Joy used quick attack just before Eevee hit the drenched Clefairy with a thundershock. The two then quickly dodged out of the way just as Miltank ran Clefairy over with it's rollout attack.

It was easy to tell that Clefairy was done for so the two then focused on trapping and stoping Miltank. This of course was easier said then done for it never stoped rolling around in hopes of running one of them down. IN hope of doing some damage Joy was filling the room with fire while Eevee blasted the place with water. This did to work things first created lots of smoke and steam but then setup a trap that was trigger just as Eevee was about to be hit by Miltank's rollout attack and after Joy had collapsed too weak and too tired to continue.

Whitney got a huge smile on her face as she figured victory was in her grasped when to her shock and Miltank's as well I quickly recalled Joy to protect her just as Eevee released a powerful thundershock which was amplified by all of the water on battlefield causing an in's Tia this KO even as Milktank fell on Eevee who barely had the strength to crawl out Whitney just looked on in pure shock and amazement.

"that was amazing. Ive never seen such team work. MOst try to take out my Miltank first only to be put to sleep by Clefairy or target Clefairy only to be run down but you managed to use my own move against me not once but twice." replied Whitney as she recalled her Pokémon and walked over to reward me with the Plain Badge.
