14 Unexpected Encounters and Unending Tide

Drake walked to the Silph Co.'s building and only saw one Team Rocket grunt in civilian clothes manning the door. Drake just walked up to him like he was ignorant of what was going on and tried to get into the building.

When the grunt saw him he just got in Drake's way and tried to say something, but Drake just punched him in the face, knocking him out. After dealing with the 'guard' Drake dragged him into the building and tossed him aside.

Just as he was about to choose a side to head up from, Drake heard someone walk through the door. He carefully observed who it was before spotting someone familiar.

It was Gary, Drake stepped into the open and Gary looked at him with some trepidation before realizing who it was. Then he asked how Drake knew that Team Rocket was laying siege to the building and Drake gave him a bullshit excuse about how he recognized the guard out front.

Gary then asked " What guard outside " and Drake just said " Don't worry about it.". There were two teleportation pads on this floor that led to different sides of the building.

Drake chose the right one and Gary chose the left one, they agreed to reunite before the top floor. Drake decided to use Zeus to deal with all the Team Rocket grunts he came across and there was a lot of grunts.

Luckily most had only 1-2 Pokémon and a very few had 5-6 Pokémon. It was almost like an unending tide of them but after 39 floors he finally dealt with them all, he even managed to pick up three TM's ( Look at the list of items found in Siplh Co.). Zeus even leveled up 13 times bringing him to level 45, that's pretty high but he was also dead tired.

Drake waited 30 minutes before Gary showed up and judging by the look on his face he only had a few Pokémon capable of battling left. Drake just asked him if he needed a moment but just shook his head and stood in front of the final teleportation pad before stepping on it and disappearing.

Drake immediately followed and when he looked around the room he saw the CEO being held hostage by a masked Giovanni. He also saw Butch and Cassidy standing nearby, when Cassidy saw him she was a bit lost for a while before she recognized him. After after she did she just focused her attention on Gary, apparently not wanting Butch or Giovanni to know about their one night stand.

Drake looked around the room and realized he couldn't use Andromeda because there wasn't enough space. He just said to Giovanni " You look a bit familiar, but moving on, I'm going to need you to let him go and make yourself scarce. You should do it while I'm asking nicely, heck I'll even let you use the pads. If not you'll either be leaving in handcuffs or out the window."

After playing his mind games with Giovanni and after posturing a bit Drake waited for Giovanni to send out his first Pokémon. Which was a level 40 Nidorino, even though he wasn't using his main team( Because he's currently a Gym leader) his other Pokémon were still strong.

Drake just shook his head and sent out Horus, wasting no time he told it to use Bulldoze which it did, it was a super effective attack that did plenty of damage but wasn't enough to finish it off. So he followed it up with a Dragon Breath that landed and did some damage followed by another Bulldoze that ended it this time.

Giovanni was shocked, he didn't expect this mysterious and young trainer to be so ruthless. He shook it off and sent a level 40 Kangashan, Drake recalled Horus and sent out Prometheus.

This time Giovanni made the first move, his Kangashan lunged at Prometheus and used Mega Punch. Prometheus used his maxed out Metal Claw to clash against Kangashan, he lost this confrontation and slid back a few feet before swapping to his also maxed out Dragon Claw and lunged at Kangashan.

This time they were evenly matched this time but Prometheus wasn't pleased with the outcome, he was used to demolishing his opponents. This dissatisfaction with his performance awakened Prometheus' desire for more power and the more he clashed against Kangashan the more the temperature in the room raised.

The fire on Prometheus' tail grew bigger and hotter, the colour changed from red to blue. Prometheus used his Ability Blaze for the first time, it's usually only triggered when a Pokémon is in a pinch but Prometheus' desire for power forced it activate. But that still wasn't enough for him, he dud deeper and deeper and after another clash against Kangashan he started glowing white.

Prometheus managed to trigger an early evolution, Drake's plan was to trigger one in the battle against Erika at the Celadon City Gym. But he'd take what he could get.

Giovanni was seething but he couldn't intervene he knew the rules and the consequences. So he just stood and waited for 5 minutes before the evolution was finished. When he saw the Charizard before him he hated that stupid rule even more.

The average Charizard is a bit taller than 5 and a half feet, when Prometheus was still a Charmeleon he was almost 5 feet tall he was a monster, but as a Charizard he stood over 7 feet tall. His scales that were supposed to be orange were instead dark grey almost black and the inside of his wings that were supposed to be blue were red and because his Blaze ability was still active his tail fire was blue.

Feeling his new power, Prometheus let loose a roar that shook the room until the glass widows cracked. After the roar he was itching to pummel the Kangashan before him, so he fired off a Flamethrower that was so hot it was white in colour. Seeing the incoming attack it used Protect that would normally block the attack but because of the heat from the Flamethrower the unprotected floor around the Kangashan that wasn't covered by Protect's forcefield melted instantly and the impact from the attack sent Kangashan flying out the window still in it's forcefield out the window.

Giovanni didn't even look at his Pokémon much less make an attempt to save it. He just sent out a level 45 Nidoqueen that Prometheus also defeated with a Flamethrower but it managed to stop itself from going out the window but it was badly burned and unconscious.

Giovanni sent out his final Pokémon, a level 43 Rhydon, he knew that this was a lost battle but he also knew he'd encounter this trainer again so he was observing his ability. Prometheus saw the Rhydon and knew his fire type attacks weren't going to be of much use so he charged the remaining energy he got from his Blaze ability and fired it at Rhydon.

Instead of this attack being white like the previous Flamethrowers it was blue and it also wasn't a Flamethrower. Ater it was fired it came out as a fireball that then transformed into what looked remarkably similar to the Kanji for fire.

The attack collided with Rhydon and exploded, the shockwave blew up the area where exploded. The shockwave sent Rhydon careening into the building next door, luckily Giovanni wasn't standing behind his Pokémon since Kangashan went skydiving.

Everyone except Drake was sent flying by the shockwave, the moment he saw the fireball change shape he knew what move it was so he braced for the impact. Seizing the moment he ran to the CEO and grabbed him, he was unconscious so Drake just slung him over his shoulder.

Gary was fortunately standing on the same side as Drake so he and his Blastoise were sent flying backwards and into the wall. Butch and Cassidy collided with the windows that stopped them and Giovanni dived behind the CEO's desk that shielded him from the blast.

Picking himself off the ground Gary looked at Drake and said " Overkill much? " Drake just shrugged and said " I didn't tell him to do that.". Since all the hostages were secure Giovanni, Butch and Cassidy snuck off while Gary and Drake were talking.

Drake saw them but didn't attempt to stop them, if Giovanni was pushed too far he'd have no problem using his main team. Drake set down the CEO and lightly slapped his face a few times before he woke up.

Seeing that he wasn't being held hostage by Team Rocket members anymore he looked around and noticed their absence. He asked Drake and Gary if he was safe to which he got an affirmative answer, sighing in relief he thanked them both before walking to desk.

He placed his hand on a palm scanner disguised as a floor tile and it dropped down an inch before sliding into the floor revealing a safe. Inside said safe was a cube shaped box and a briefcase filled with bearer bonds.

Both items were presented to Drake and Gary and the old man said " This is all I have on me, please take it as a token of my appreciation. You'll have to divide it amongst yourselves but that shouldn't be a problem."

Drake opened the box and Gary opened the briefcase, when Drake saw the Master Ball inside he inquired what it was. When the old man said it was a Master Ball, the only existing prototype and what it was capable of Drake set it on the ground before having Prometheus stomp on it before melting it.

Shocked by Drake's actions the CEO and Gary who were both livid asked him why he did it. Drake just replied " There are some Pokémon out there capable of extraordinary feats, if people like Team Rocket got their hands on one of them they'd cause chaos and countless lives would be lost."

He then looked at the CEO and said " It'd be in your best interest to cease all further attempts to produce more of these Master Balls and destroy all of the remaining research. As long as you keep researching it, Team Rocket will keep coming after you and next time they might not just hold you all hostage."

Gary and the old man were shocked by Drake's resolve, he didn't even hesitate before destroying the Master Ball. Drake then took half of the bearer bonds and waited for the Police to climb the building and take their statements.
