10 Treasure and Failure

Deciding to go for the treasure before starting the heist, Drake dismounted from Terry deciding to only use Terry to deal with the wild Pokémon they encountered. Zeus left Terry's neck and coiled himself around Drake's shoulder like a sash, following the map on his H.U.D, Drake watched as Terry bulldozed his way through almost every Pokémon he came across, Prometheus had to deal with the two Onix's they encountered and Drake had to instruct Terry how to time attacks from Flying type Pokémon.

Drake's training method for his Pokémon was to correct the flaws in their chosen method instead of trying to force a fixed method chosen by the trainer. All of Drake's chosen Pokémon thus far preferred to power their way through all obstacles in their way, so Drake just showed them how to Power their way through without falling into traps, being taunted or trying to force their way through impossible angles but to attack from the best angles without wasting stamina and energy. Drake instructed Prometheus how to deal with the move Rollout instead of attacking headfirst like he did in Pewter City, he should wait until the last moment before dodging and attacking it's side. For Terry it was hard to wait patiently for a opportunity to strike and even if it did manage to wait attacking at the right moment was a bit challenging for him but eventually he got the hang of it.

The only downside to Terry's newfound upgrade in combat power was that because he was a physical attacker he usually ended up impaling his opponents on his horns, which drenched him in blood which in turn kept attracting Zubats and the occasional Golbat. After getting a brief respite from the attacks Drake purchased a few gallons of water from his store to wash Terry's fur and used a scent cover on himself and his Pokémon. By 21:00 Drake had finally made his way to the entrance of a sub cave where the treasure was stored, seeing that the entrance was too small for Terry, Drake then told all of his Pokémon to wait outside for him while he used a scent cover for Mount Moon and slowly squeezed his way through the crack in the wall.

Finally making his way through Drake almost yelled when he saw the Treasure, it wasn't that he was shocked by the treasure, because it was in a chest. He was shocked because he saw the treasure chest's guardian. It was a fucking Ursaring sleeping in the corner of the cave, fighting the urge to curse out he held his breath and slowly stalked his way to the treasure chest after stopping in front of it, he stored the entire chest in his inventory. With the most important task out of the way he scanned the Ursaring with his system and all he saw was it's species and it's level which was 52, he couldn't even see it's moves, abilities or stat level. he looked around and saw another entrance that headed to a higher exit on the other side of the mountain which he assumed the Ursaring used when it left to go hunt for food.

Tiptoeing his way back to the crack in the wall, Drake finally squeezed his way out of the cave crack unaware that the Ursaring woke up and watched Drake make his way out of the cave. After he got out he quickly rushed his Pokémon to leave the area before throwing a tantrum to Athena about how she didn't warn him about the guardians. To which she produced a response that sent chills down his spine.

[ That Ursaring wasn't the treasure guardian, if it was it would have killed you instead of watching you make a fool of yourself. ]

' What do you mean watch me. '

[ Luckily for you, you chose the moment it was going to wake up so it wasn't in a bad mood. Had you woken it you'd be paste on the cave wall instead of here complaining. ]

' Sigh, are there guardians for the other treasure chests?'

[ Probably, there's only way to find out now isn't there. ]

' You're sounding a bit sadistic there. '

[ I have no idea what you're referring to. ]

' Sure. Anyways what's an Ursaring doing in Mount Moon. '

[ There's probably some rare berries at the upper part of the mountain. They like berries. ]

Having crossed a suitable distance Drake stopped when he finally felt safe again, Opening the treasure chest Drake was satisfied with what he got from the chest, paying no mind to the scare he just experienced. Inside the chest was something Drake was dreaming of since he came to this world, two scalemail clawed gauntlets and an adjustable scalemail bracer and two marbles one big and one small, a Key Stone and a Mega Stone. Scanning the stones his suspicions were confirmed it was the key stone and Charizardite Y, Drake was once again reminded that he had a system that was there to guide him a path to fulfill his dreams. Observing the Gauntlets he found that they had five sockets each, it was capable of allowing the user to mega evolve several Pokémon simultaneously. Checking their stats since they weren't clothes but equipment he saw that they belonged to a Pokémon Master from a forgotten era.

Seeing the gauntlets Drake modified his heist plan and his heist outfit, making his way to the excavation site Drake arrived at an opening 30 meters above the excavation floor and changed into his heist outfit which consisted of his new gauntlets, the black leather jacket with the hood, black jeans and sleek outdoor boots also in black and a black whole faced mask with a built-in voice modifier. Looking over the archeologists' work Drake watched for either a shady secret deal or for Team Rocket to rob the archeologists, and true enough the next day he saw the archeologists discover an Old Amber. The team celebrated their discovery at night with a party, all but one of the participants passed out drunk that night. After making sure the other were really sleeping one scientist made of with the Old Amber and Drake made his way down the cave wall using the gauntlets and boots which was surprisingly easy and trailed behind the scientist.

After trailing for 20 minutes, the scientist finally made his way to a large open space which Team Rocket was using as a temporary base in Mount Moon. Finding another opening in the cave wall high above the suspended lights Drake watched as the scientist handed the Old Amber to a familiar figure, she stood out from the crowd when Drake saw her in Pewter City. It was indeed the woman he slept with, even though she used a fake name when they interacted, when he saw her standing next to a green haired man he realized why she looked familiar, she was Cassidy as in Butch and Cassidy. Jesse's rival, Drake coldly watched as the scientist got his payment and swiftly left and as Butch instructed a grunt to follow him and kill him.

Drake had no sympathy for betrayers, it would have been different if he was being blackmailed but he was doing this out of greed, he deserved whatever he got. Drake watched as the grunt returned with the briefcase filled with cash and gave it back to Butch, and paid close attention as he stored both the Amber and Money in his tent. Seeing his target Drake got to work, he affixed some remote detonated explosives to all the light fixtures and some Bluetooth speakers at various points of the cave. It would be more accurate to call the explosives high grade fireworks, only an idiot would use explosives in a cave without checking it's structural integrity.

Finished with his prep work Drake then turned on the voice modifier and the Bluetooth speakers and said " Butch and Cassidy, you have FAILED THIS CITY " (lmao I love this line) then he blew the charges. Watching as all the grunts ran around flustered Drake snuck into Butch's tent and saw a safe which Drake accounted for so he just put the whole safe in his inventory and left a note in it's place. He then snuck out through a hole he slashed at the back of the tent.

Making his way through the mess of tents in the dark he finally made his way to the cave entrance/ exit and carefully emptied a jar of blood on the floor before finally making his exit. The phase of Drake's plan was to use a jar of Gyarados blood to attract Zubats and Golbats to cover his escape, Drake didn't stop running until he was out the other side of Mount Moon. Changing back into his default outfit Drake then took out the safe and pulled the handle of the safe as a force of habit and it opened. Make no mistake Drake wasn't strong enough to rip open a safe yet, Drake then answered why the safe was open " It seems Butch and Cassidy are just as idiotic as Jesse and James, that idiot actually forgot to lock the safe."

Drake stored the Amber in his inventory and opened the briefcase and did the same with the money which amounted to $10,000,000. " Seems like robbing Team Rocket is a profitable business."

..... Cassidy POV .....

" Ugh I can't believe we got robbed. How are we going to explain this to the boss. At least you stored it the safe firs..." Cassidy trailed of and then asked Butch " You did scramble the dial right?" Butch then looked to Cassidy and asked " You're supposed to scramble the dial?" Cassidy went ballistic and tried to kill Butch chasing him all over the cave before they heard something that sounded like the fluttering of a large amount of wings which turned out to be true. The Gyarados blood worked even better than Drake hoped, It gathered almost half of all the bats inside Mount Moon. Butch and Cassidy had to sacrifice half of their grunts before they along with the remaining grunts made their way to the hidden escape route the had dug.
