11 Trainers, Second(Twice) and Third

After dealing with the spoils of his heist, Drake made his way through Route 4 finally coming across other trainers. He also saw a road sign with some graffiti on it courtesy of Gary that said " Gary was here. Ash and Drake are losers." Drake then wrote next to it " I'm not but Ash definitely is." Drake then continued his journey. Even though the Pokémon they had were stronger than wild Pokémon, they still posed no threat to Zeus, he beat them all alone. Drake decided that since he had no Pokémon with a type advantage he'd use Zeus alone, using these trainers as whetstones Drake managed to fine tune Zeus' current fighting style and get him up to level 26 by the time they reached Cerulean City. Making Zeus Drake's highest leveled Pokémon, followed by Prometheus and Terry at level 20 and Wrath still at level 18.

Finally reaching Cerulean City Drake made his way to the Cerulean City Gym and issues his challenge, his appointment was for the next day at noon. Making his way to the Pokémon Center he submitted all of his Pokémon minus Wrath to Nurse Joy ( Still freaking hot ) and booking a room for the night, after entering his room Drake took a bath and did his laundry, when he was finished and was resting on his bed he heard Athena say.

[ Wrath's evolution will be finished within the next 5 minutes. You should release him from his Pokéball. ]

Wasting no time Drake heeded Athena's advice, it didn't even take 5 minutes before Wrath's cocoon of light burst open. Showing Drake, Wrath's new body, his carapace was now made of metal and his scythes turned into pincers, his body became more streamlined and his wings shorter but reinforced by it's new metal carapace. He grew to be 6'6 , a whole 2 feet taller than it was previously, Wrath was pleased with his new body and was itching to beat something up. Drake saw the look in his eye and told him to wait until tomorrow, he then checked his new stats.

[ Pokémon Stats ]

Wrath's stat level dropped back to rank C but that was due to it's new body, Drake recalled him and went to bed early. Even though he was horny Drake was one of those guys who didn't have sex the night before a fight. Staving off his urges he slept and woke up at 9 and got dressed before making his way to the Gym where he saw why his match was delayed until noon. The three Gym Leaders had a water show that morning, though completely uninterested in the show he stayed to watch Misty's three sisters, the flowers of Cerulean City, Daisy, Violet and Lily. They were beautiful, after the show he made his way to the sisters where he applauded them and shamelessly flirted with all three of them. They blushed and asked him which of them he'd pick to battle for the Gym badge, he then said he couldn't bring himself to choose one of them and that he let them decide.

After a moment of deliberation Lily stepped foward and announced that she'd be the one battling him. As Lily and Drake made their way to the pool Lily said to him that if he won she'd go on a date with him, which Drake knew was definitely going to happen. All three sisters where mediocre trainers, Misty was the only one amongst them with the talent for battles. Drake didn't set his sights low though, he flirted with all three of them because he wanted to taste all three of them and judging by the looks they were giving him it was definitely a possibility.

After the usual spiel that every Gym Leader gave about their specialty type Pokémon Drake introduced himself and where he was from. He found out that Gary was the only trainer from Pallet Town that challenged their Gym thus far and that was only two days ago. Smiling about how close Gary was Drake then set the betting amount at the max which was $40,000. Listening to the battle rules that didn't change, it was still a two vs two match. Drake then sent out Zeus to start the battle.

Zeus dived into the water happy to finally be able to have a battle in water, Lily then sent out a level 26 Goldeen the judge then announced the start of the battle and Drake told Zeus to spam Agility until it's speed was maxed out Lily followed up by telling her Goldeen to spam Agility as well. But since Zeus started first he finished first he then proceeded without needing instructions from Drake, to use Extreme Speed on Goldeen who was still using Agility. The attack connected perfectly and disrupted Goldeen's flow, Zeus didn't waste the opening it created and used Extreme Speed three more times before rendering Goldeen 'unable to battle'.

Shocked at how easily Drake won the first round Lily then said " That's a good tactic, but it won't work on my next Pokémon." She then took out a Pokéball released a Gyarados from it, slightly taken aback Drake scanned it and found that it was at level 30 and had rank B stats. This was the strongest Pokémon Drake saw that belonged to a trainer, Drake shook off the novelty and told Zeus to focus his attacks on it's blind spot. Following his trainers advice Zeus then proceeded to use Extreme Speed on Gyarados' back and the back of it's head repeatedly, known for it's short temper Gyarados started rampaging in the pool trying to hit the blue blur zipping around in the pool.

Lily tried to calm down her Gyarados but she wasn't that good of a trainer so she couldn't calm it down, after thrashing around it landed a lucky shot on Zeus that sent him careening through the water and into the pool wall. Drake was fearful for Zeus' life and just as he was going to recall him he noticed the the water glowing brightly, ' Zeus can't be evolving, he hasn't reached level 30 yet. Athena what's going on ?'

[ Think of evolutions that happen at a set level as an almost mandatory evolution that occurs regardless of the Pokémon's Stat Level, it can only be forcibly stopped. Whereas some Pokémon need specific items to evolve and some need a stimulus or accumulation. An evolution can also occur if a Pokémon's Stat Level is at Rank B, is externally stimulated and deeply yearns for strength. ]

[ It usually isn't a trainer's first choice because it can waste the Pokémon's potential but the stimulus from the battle against Lily's Gyarados brought Zeus's Stat Level up to Rank S. An evolution like this one is actually better because it gives the Pokémon more room to grow since all Pokémon a a level cap. ]

Finally set at ease Drake just stood and watched as Zeus underwent his evolution into a Dragonair, the one uncontested rule amongst Pokémon is that an evolution cannot be interrupted. Even if a Pokémon whose loyalty is so strong it would die for it's trainer in a heartbeat is instructed by it's trainer to disrupt an opponents evolution it wouldn't do it. It would go as far as to stop it's trainer if he decided to do it himself, if Pokémon went around disturbing each other's evolutions it would be total anarchy. Pokémon like Gyarados benefited by this rule the most, as a Magikarp it was incredibly weak and dumb but when it evolves into a Gyarados it was amongst the kings of the sea.

Luckily for it and Lily, the blinding white light calmed it down, after a few minutes passed the light faded and Zeus emerged from the water in his new form. 16.5 feet long, a pair of white winglike protrusions on both sides of his head, a round blue gemstone on his neck and two more at the end of his tail and a small sharp white horn on his forehead. He went from looking like a snake to looking like a flood dragon. Feeling empowered by his evolution Zeus still under the boost from Agility used Extreme Speed on Gyarados' back again but this time it actually did some damage. He used it twice more before Lily got Gyarados to use Dragon Rage which Zeus narrowly dodged.

Zeus then zipped around in the air accumulating speed before using Dragon Tail on Gyarados' head, thoroughly knocking it out. Satisfied with his victory Zeus flew to Drake and waited for him to pet him, conscious of it's new horn. While Drake and Zeus were celebrating Lily recalled her Gyarados and made her way to Drake full of questions such as why Drake didn't issue much orders, to which his response was that he believed that issuing orders for all situations dulled Pokémon's instincts and made them reliant on orders and their trainers.

Lily had more questions but Drake told her he'd answer them during their date which made her blush but she still agreed. Drake then left rhe Gym after temporarily bidding farewell to the sisters as he made his way to the Pokémon Center so Zeus could receive some minor treatment. But the main reason he left was to accept his quest rewards.

Drake saw the 2 point increase for the reward for defeating the next Gym Leader and knew there'd be a substantial change in difficulty in that battle. Putting it out of mind for the time being, he opened the treasure map and just like the first one it broke down into particles and reformed as a pin on his map. But unlike before something else happened.
