6 Forest and Growth

Drake's training plan for his Pokémon was for them to bring all of their moves to lvl 5 and raise their stat level to at least A rank, hopefully S rank. So that entailed physical exercises and the repetitive use of moves and variations in which they could use them, which included different angles they could attack from, reducing charge times, increasing attack durations, attack range, attack patterns and attack strength. The end goal to be able to attack from any angle or form at a moments notice without the need for postures and be at least half as strong as a full powered attack. That would be when an attack would reach it's max level, though most attacks have different max levels for example, Bite's is lvl 5 whereas Quick Attack's is lvl 10 and Hyper Beam's is lvl 20. The stronger the damage dealt the higher the max level though some moves have requirements that have to be met before it can reach the highest level.

Drake's training plan for Charmander was for it to use Metal Claw on different sized boulders until he crushed them in one blow. Which trained both metal claw and its strength, and daily running through the bushes in the forest and using it'sother moves frequently. Dratini's was a bit more difficult to plan due to its body type but he figured it out nonetheless,Dratini also used all of it's moves frequently to raise their levels and for Agility it had to climb trees under a set amount of time and in a certain order. It was an unending task as there are always taller trees and trees with more branches and for strength it had to use Dragon Tail to smash large boulders alongside Charmander and squeeze branches of varying girths until they broke. They were grueling tasks so to motivate them he also exercised alongside them and foraged for food while staying relatively close to them. They moved locations every couple of hours after running out of targets and this continued for a week before they raised all of their moves to level 5 and got their stats to the A rank.

Drake was shocked when he saw that Charmander's stats had reached rank A, he was expecting to have hit a bottleneck where he would have to level him up a bit before their stats rank would be able to increase. But Athena reminded him that younger Pokémon had more room for growth and less bottlenecks, the older they are and after each evolution the growth rate would slow down drastically.Especially for Dragon type Pokémon which happened to be Drake's chosen path, it would be a hard journey but it would be worth it. He only checked their stauses because he saw a vast increase in their food intake and body size and mass, in Charmander's case it was more noticeable because he usually stood next to him when they weren't exercising. Charmander was 2 feet tall previously, now he was almost 3 feet tall.

During this week Drake's personal efforts yielded an absurd amount of berries for making Pokéblocks as well as berries for Pokémon food and food for himself that should last them months. After seeing their progress Drake decided to start his plan for raising Charmander's level. A few day's ago Drake spotted a very tall and old tree after looking at it for a while he spotted some Beedrill flying out of the tree and realized that there was a nest there he decided that there would be where he would do all of Charmander's leveling. So after a night's rest Drake and his two Pokémon set of for the Beedrill nest early the next morning.

After a short trek they finally made it to the perimeter of the Beedrill's territory, after waiting for two hours all but one Beedrill left the nest. After waiting until they were sure the other Beedrill were far enough away Drake told Charmander to take down the Beedrill with no specific command as to how it should do it. Charmander just took aim and fired a Flamethrower at the unsuspecting Beedrill which set it on fire. The Beedrill fell from the branch it was resting on and thrashed around for about two minutes before dying. This act shocked all concerned parties, a lvl 14 Beedrill just died from one Flamethrower that came from a lvl 6 Charmander. This act sent Charmander level straight to lvl 10, after spacing out for a second Drake then proceeded to climb the tree and found his target, Beedrill honey. In a nest this lage in Viridian forest there could be as little as 50 gallons to 200 gallons of honey. When Drake spotted the nest the first time he scrolled through his store and bought several 1 gallon air tight glass jars for this heist. While climbing he told his Pokémon to look out for other Pokémon while he was stealing the honey.

After finding the honeycomb no time was wasted as he collected honey by the gallon, it wasn't hard to do so. The honey fell from the honeycomb and gathered into a pool below as the comb was in a hole dug into the large tree. After Drake gathered 200 gallons of honey he noticed that he bare left a dent in their supply, pausing for a moment to decide whether to take more or leave he heard both of his Pokémon cry out. Spinning around he saw the entire swarm of Beedrills coming back, swiftly jumping down from branch to branch Drake made it to the ground at the same time the Beedrills arrived. Without wasting a second Drake ordered both of his Pokémon to use Flamethrower to set the large tree on fire, this was originally meant to be a distraction for after he stole their honey and was making his silent escape, they would be too preoccupied putting out the fire to chase after him.

But they arived sooner than he expected but this part of the plan would still be effective, after he was sure the tree caught fire Drake then took of with his Pokémon in tow. After looking back twice and traversing two miles Drake and his Pokémon thought they were in the clear but Drake was still smelling honey after looking at his Pokémon then himself he saw some on the cuff of his jacket and panicked. But before he could take it off and store it in his inventory he heard a strong buzzing sound coming from the sky behind him, he spun around and saw a 5 foot tall Monster of a Beedrill glaring at him, he then realized that this was probably the biggest Beedrill nest in the Viridian forest and that he fucked up, after a quick look at its stats and moves he saw that it was at lvl 21 and knew Hyper Beam, he knew that he fucked up even more. Recalling his Dratini back into it's Pokéball because it wasn't that fast in a straight line, he and Charmander took of running al the while yelling " How the fuck can there be a Beedrill that big here and why the fuck does it know Hyper Beam!".

Dodging some Pin Missiles, Drake told Charmander to use Ember every chance it got and it did as it was told while running for its life. After the fifth Ember hit Drake's luck came into play and triggered the burn status effect, just as he was about to rejoice about possibly winning this battle, he saw something that crushed that sliver hope . A twenty meter wide chasm that was at least fifty meters deep, he had no choice but to stop and face the music. The only somewhat good news he had was that with the distance he had run, this queen Beedrill was surely severely damaged by the ongoing burn and the type disadvantage wasn't doing it any favours either. But their chances were still slim but luckily for them wild Pokémon don't always make the right choices, fueled by rage and the excruciating pain it was in the Beedrill fired off a round of Pin Missiles which both Drake and Charmander dodged. The 20 points of Agility made it possible to do so without wasting any time, after quickly working out a risky strategy, Drake then found his way behind his Charmander. Seeing both of it's targets lining themselves up Beedrill charged up it's strongest Hyper Beam and fired it at them, knowing that the attack was coming gave Drake enough time to throw himself and Charmander out of the beams way. *Boom*

But the shockwave from the impact was stronger that he was expecting, so he was thrown off the cliff barely hanging on the edge with one hand. Thankful once again for all the years of exercising and those extra 3 points of strength he quickly pulled his head above the cliff, where he saw that the queen Beedrill even though she was barely floating and still feeling the aftereffects of the Hyper Beam was still trying to raise its lancelike stinger to fire an attack at Drake.

But once again blinded by rage it didn't see Charmander charging a full powered Flamethrower to its right until the move was upon it. Completely exposed with no way to block the move it was hit head on, *Boom* . Finished climbing up the cliff Drake and Charmander looked on as the dust settled and saw the Beedrill queen unconscious after a small celebration between the both of them Charmander started glowing white quickly looking at Charmander's level and stats he realized that Charmander's level had reached 16 and its stats had reached rank S. Combat situations really do make you grow faster, unlike in the anime and games the evolution takes a few minutes so while Charmander was evolving Drake released Dratini and got it to put out the fire on the Beedrill's body.

Drake was in a good mood after getting so much honey and Charmander's ongoing evolution that he felt like sparing this Beedrill's life. The pure organic honey would make his Pokéblocks even more effective and make his food even more delicious. After waiting for about 10 minutes Charmander finished evolving and was no longer a Charmander but a Charmeleon, standing at 4 feet tall and the fire on it's tail burning hotter than before, it took a moment to feel the changes to its body and it felt stronger than ever and letting out a juvenile roar it looked at it's trainer and walked up to him and rubbed his head on his stomach. Still as adorable and spoiled as ever.
