7 Bestowal and Departure

Spending a brief moment looking at his new Charmeleon and observing it's changes, he noticed that it's arms grew longer and stronger, it's tail grew longer and thicker and the flame at the end of it's tail grew stronger and burned hotter and brighter. It's face developed a more prominent and angular snout and most noticeably it grew a single angled horn at the peak of it's head. Charmeleons and Charizards are known for their irritable and violent natures but Drake's Charmeleon showed no signs of that.

But seeing a four meter tall looking for head rubs like a little puppy was a bit disturbing and did nothing good for it's image and later down the line when it needed to appear ferocious and intimidating head rubs will destroy that image. So to correct that he taught it how to do a fistbumb and it took to the new form of congratulation oddly quick. Then Drake addressed the most important issue on the agenda, nicknames for his Pokémon, he was stuck between two choices for each of them but during the last battle he made his choice so he knelt before Charmeleon and said " I have a reward for your recent achievements, it's a nickname, do you want it?" Charmeleon nodded it's head firmly and Drake then said " I bestow upon you the name Prometheus, wear it proudly ". Charmeleon no Prometheus smiled fiercely and stretched out his fist for a bumb.

Drake then looked at Prometheus' stats.

Drake then heard Athena say.

[ When a Pokémon evolves they experience a growth in life level which increases the potency of their attacks which manifests as an increase in the level of it's moves. Followed by the quality of their body structure which manifests as increased performance or a change in specialty (Scyther to Scizor)and a change in body structure, the extent to which can vary. ]

' Perfectly explained as always. Now to deal with this Beedrill.' Drake then fed the barely breathing Pokémon a Rawst berry and then used a Pokéball on it. The ball shook twice before it flashed red indicating the successful capture, Drake then released the Beedrill and sprayed it with a Super Potion so it wouldn't die then recalled it back to the Pokéball. ' I'm going to sell this the first chance I get, too many bad memories '.

Drake then wondered if he should catch another Pokémon, he was going to be a Dragon Master but that didn't mean he couldn't have other types of Pokémon. He was always fond of Scizors, so he headed towards the heart of the forest where they usually resided. Along the way he finally saw the changes in Prometheus's character due to it's evolution, he would charge foward everytime it saw a Pokémon in their way, looking for a fight. But he just scared them all off, but he wasn't out of control like Ash's future Charmeleon and Charizard. If he told him to stop he would do so immediately, he'd frown and pout, but he'd still do it.

After two miles Drake noticed a problem, Prometheus caused no less than 14 accidental fires so he unfortunately had to be temporarily stored in his Pokéball. Going foward with just Dratini Drake spent two days trekking through the forest before he reached the border of the Scythers' territory. It was a vast plain with a few tall trees spread throughout the plain, intsead of rashly charging into the plain he decided to circle the border and look for outcasted Scythers. That's where the former patriarchs and shunned ones would be, even though shiny Pokémon are usually stronger and larger than others of their species they are usually outcasted but rarely the are groomes to be the leaders of their tribe.

Unfortunately Scythers aren't one of those tribes, if they outcast the former patriarchs after they loose to a challenger, why would they let the young variants stay amongst the tribe. If they manage to grow to adulthood and make their way back to challenge the patriarch and win they'd be accepted but that was an extremely rare case. While circling the border Drake saw a recently injured oldish Scyther which meant there was a new patriarch which was good news for Drake, he found a backup in case he didn't find a shiny Scyther. Already forgetting about how he almost died facing the Beedrill sitting in a Pokéball on the inside of his jacket, like the entire event happened to someone else.

Luckily for him his plot arm*cough* "luck glow' was working for him, he saw an extremely young shiny Scyther but it was injured. But he saw something in it's eyes, brightly burning determination and yearning for strength and power. It seems that this Scyther took being outcasted pretty badly and wanted revenge not acceptance, Drake grinned darkly, he found a way in. You could catch any Pokémon, but if you foster a relationship before you catch it you could get it to trust you sooner and it would obey your commands almost immediately after it's capture.

The young Scyther hadn't noticed Drake yet and that was all Drake's doing, after the whole Beedrill debacle he scrolled through his store and found scent covering sprays for different types of environments and even some specific locations like Viridian forest and Mount Moon etc. the prices varied but they weren't too expensive. The only downside was that a bottle only lasted 8 hours per person/ Pokémon, but it was worth the price, after retreating a bit he decided to wait until two hours later when the current dose of scent cover would finish and "accidentally " stumble upon the Scyther and be "forced" to battle it.

The time flew by quickly before Drake then made his way to the Scyther and just like he planned the Scyther challenged the intruders before it. After getting close enough he checked it's level and moves where he got a surprise.

" Damn, you're even better than I was expecting, hardworking Pokémon are the best 👍." The battle wasn't anything special, a successful Thunder Wave from Dratini followed by a Dragon Tail and Extreme Speed to finish it, the young Scyther didn't have a chance to land a blow.

.....Scyther POV.....

Still in dismay about loosing so quickly and thoroughly it observed its opponent and them noticed that the weird looking Pokémon behind the Dratini ( Drake ) seemed to be instructing the Dratini. After coming to that conclusion he watched as the Pokémon walked up to him, just before it reached he finally managed to stand up, though shakily it stood nonetheless, the weird Pokémon paused for a moment before continuing to walk towards him and just as it arrived before him. Scyther knelt on one leg and said " Teach me great one "

..... Drake POV .....

Drake watched as the Scyther knelt before him said " Scyther Scyther" and bowed it's head, the plan was to heal it and then state the Scyther's goal for revenge and offer to help it get stronger and then capture it. But taking his affinity and the Scyther's age into account, just a show of strength was all it took to win him over. Drake then said to it " You want revenge don't you." The Scyther was shocked and looked straight into Drake's eyes before nodding. Drake then continued " I'll make you stronger than all of them so you can have your revenge, but we will have to leave this forest, you will have to leave behind your home. Can you do that?" Scyther didn't hesitate for a second before nodding. ' It seems it gas no attachment to this place, how sad. ' Drake then took out a Pokéball and said " Don't resist ". After getting another nod from Scyther, Drake used the Pokéball on Scyther which shook once before flashing to indicate a successful capture.

Drake then released Scyther and sprayed it with a Potion, fed it an Oran berry and told it that it's training would begin after it finished healing, which would be tomorrow. Drake then decided to name it as he had the perfect name "From now on your name shall be 'Wrath' in hopes that you one day get your revenge" after happily accepting his name Wrath was recalled into his Pokéball. Drake then quickly left the Scythers' territory used a scent cover and trekked his way to a path that led to Pewter City but before could reach it night came and he had to make camp.

After being nagged by Dratini for hours who was pouting because he didn't have a name and after Drake grew tired of saying he was in the middle of deciding on one for him he swapped Dratini for Wrath. He then told Wrath that his training was to cut down everything in Drake's path to Pewter City, Wrath the ever diligent Pokémon nodded and proceeded to slash through all the bushes, small trees and wild Pokémon they came across. What should have been a six hour journey ended up taking two days but it was worth it, Wrath pushed his stats up to rank B and reached level 18.
