8 A Dash of Oddish Luck is the Best!

As Austin was on his way to the nursery together with his dozing Oddish, he decided to activate {Skill:Lucky One} to see how it will affect him and Oddish today.

As they arrived at the nursery, the guide then led him to where the incubation room is, where all the pokemon eggs are incubated. On the way he saw a room with Pokemons that looks like they just hatched. There, the guide said that the egg he will get, will be random, it all depends on his luck... Not that he needed any luck right now since on his arms, is a very lucky Oddish for today, that is dozing off and shifting a bit in his arms. With a few more words from the guide, he then proceeds to go towards the incubation room as the guide waited for him outside.

As Austin stepped into the room, his eyes shined with eagerness and excitement. "Okay system, it's your time to shine, show me their potentials, ability, and names" whispers Austin as a screen appeared in front of the eggs he is currently staring at. While patting his Oddish for good luck's sake he then proceeds to note the Pokemons with good potential and ability he saw. As most of them are pokemon randomly picked in the wild, having a yellow green potential is his target, if there is one that has a higher potential, then who is he to refuse?

Ability:Rivalry, Poison Point

Name: Pidgey♀️(egg)[Tiny Bird Pokemon]

Potential:Yellow Orange

Ability: Keen Eyes

Name: Misdreavus♀️(egg)[Screech Pokemon]

Potential: Yellow

Ability: Levitate

Seeing a Misdreavus, Austin was quite surprised, seeing as this is a real world, not a game or a tv show, he was quite sceptical whether ghost type Pokemons lay eggs, 'I guess this answers my question whether they have eggs or not, though I'm relieved that ghost pokémons aren't just spirits of dead people.' Continuing on Austin debated whether he should go for this Misdreavus, but thinking about his current ability to raise a ghost Pokemon, he shook his head in disappoinment as he lack the ability and resources of his own right now, he told himself 'there's no rush, I'm not under pressure to have a need for a ghost type right now' he then proceeds to look at the other pokemon eggs.

As he continues to look on he was impress of the sheer amount of different Pokemons here in the incubation room, he even saw some Alolan and Galarian pokemon. A few minutes more he saw a Pokemon egg that caught his interest and is at least in his minimum potential quota, more like it surpassed his minimum quota.

Potential:Green

Ability:Oblivious, Sweet Veil

If he remembers the description of it's final form Tsareena, their kick so to say are very...painful, he even has a dark theory that it awakens the M side of the opponent due to their elegance and noble air surrounding them. With this Austin shuddered, if he were to encounter a Tsareena in the wild well, he of course would run away like a healthy person does. But having them as your ally...as Austin pictured a Tsareena as an ally he suddenly felt complicated..'I won't go to jail right?'

Shaking his head away from that weird thought, he noted that Bounsweet's position so he can pick that one if he doesn't see any eggs that has better potential and ability. After a few minutes of looking around he noted that there are two pokemon that has Green potential, which are the highest potential among all the eggs he checked and a few yellow green potential. The two Green potential pokemon are Bounsweet and Ekans. To that, he resolutely picked Bounsweet as...let's just say he is not that great with snakes, besides he did not really train an Arbok in his past life while gaming as a teenager, so he doesn't have any idea of their general move set, or anything about them at all. So Bounsweet is the natural choice for him, ' I just hope for a sane future with a powerful Tsareena at my side in the future...you know what, Future me, I leave that to you!'

With that, Austin went outside and asked the guide for an incubator for his pokemon.

A few minutes of waiting and with an awake and very curious Oddish in his arms, the guide appeared and help him put his new pokemon in the incubator together with an everstone. Oddish look at the egg in the incubator curiously before proceeding to happily tap it and circled around it. As I was on my way out, I saw another guide, with him are the four children of the Devlin Household and of course as we glanced at each other we....of course went our ways, what? You want to see a drama happening here? Nah we're a pretty chill clan, if you want drama go to the Aqua Blue Clan, Samael is the living proof that staying in that clan will make you an actor capable of winning an Oscar if you want to.

Thinking of the Aqua Blue Clan and their quirks, he couldn't help the amuse huff leaving his mouth.

Sparrow Household, 9:00AM

As Austin was settling down the incubator in his room, after he was done with that he saw something or more like someone hopping off, his Oddish suddenly decided that it was fun to hop off the stairs and ran outside their lawn, seeing this Austin give chase panicking for a bit and fumbling about the stairs. As he arrive safely downstairs he quickly ran after his Oddish cursing his tiny body and legs for his current speed, which is not much. A few minutes of chasing later, he saw his naughty Oddish dancing around in what seems to be a hole underground. "Got you!" "Oddish!~" he shouts in triumph and his Oddish shouts back, his Oddish then proceeds to point in the hole, curiously he followed where his Oddish is pointing at and oh...

Truly, his Oddish is the best. But the sight isn't really the best, no, the sight even made him want to retch, thinking of how those two used to be a living breathing pokemon, but got used to the sight soon enough as he's already willed himself that, it is inevitable that he has to always see this scene soon enough when he grows, what he meant is the item left behind by the two Pokemon that's in the hole, stuffed up together, they appear to be a Solrock and Lunatone pair. Their corpse didn't have any blood marks, instead they look like cracked stone instead, if not for their shape and a bit of semblance to a Solrock and a Lunatone we would have passed them up as ordinary rocks. He inspects their corpse a bit and saw that half of their body seems to be crushed by the hole, to Austin, the hole is more like a cave that collapse overtime and is just a hole now, for how long it's been? He doesn't know as that hole has always been there forgotten whenever he stroll these parts, it looks like they couldn't escape the collapse and died there, having half of their body crushed. In between their corpse lay a Moon and Sun Stone. With some guilty conscience, he took the evolution stones and decided to at least bury the pair in the hole where he found them.

As he was walking back it's already afternoon, he couldn't help but think, just think.

With a heavy heart, he returned home with a drowsy Oddish in his arms with the stones carefully hidden in his clothes. He then proceeds to his room and put the Evolution stones, after staring at it for a bit with a complicated gaze, in the spatial bag gifted to him by the twins. With a sign he turned his gaze at his hands, and wondered how he just realized how small it actually is.
