3 "You Should Be Dead..."

"Ugghhh…"

The sudden groan startled Eliza as she retreated a few steps.

She stared at the man and was warily waiting for something to happen. Then she saw him open his eyes.

It's captivating blue color mesmerized Eliza for a bit before she shook her head and erased those thoughts.

Fred just opened his eyes and is still a bit groggy. He dazed, looking at the sky absentmindedly.

After a few seconds, he blinks his eyes a few times and he is now fully conscious.

He sat up slowly, he felt that his hands were on the sand when he used it to support his body on sitting up.

As he was sitting up, he heard a sound from his right so he turned his head to that side.

He saw a pretty girl looking at him warily and jumping away from him a bit. He finds the posture of the girl very funny because she got her hands up like from those Kung Fu movies but her hands are shaking a little bit while one of her feet is raised a little.

He then looked at the face of the funny girl and then. Their eyes met, it was as if the time had stopped, they stared at each other's eyes mesmerized with what they saw.

The shaking hands of Eliza calmed down and her focus became the eyes of Fred that were staring directly right to her eyes.

A minute passed by and only then did they recollect their selves. The two of them averted their gaze while Eliza blushed a little.

Fred hurriedly tried to stand up but he failed and he fell to the sand once again.

Eliza saw that and run towards Fred and asked with a concerned voice,

"Are you okay?"

She held his hands to help him as she saw that he was trying to get up again.

Fred looked at the pretty girl and smiled at her gratefully although weakly. He was able to stand up only with the help of the girl. His whole body is feeling weak as if he is about to die any minute now.

Eliza looked at Fred and saw that he was having a hard time so she said, "We should probably go to the hospital for now. So that you can be checked up.

Fred also felt that he is very weak so he agreed to Eliza's suggestion with a weak nod of his head.

They left the beach with some beachgoers. Just watching and watching with curiosity.

After leaving the beach, they flag a taxi. A taxi stop beside the road and the two entered.

"Where are you going, Ma'am?"

"To the general hospital please." Answered Eliza, then the taxi started again and traveled fast but still within the limit speed.

After 15 minutes, they arrive outside the general hospital.

When Fred saw the hospital, he started looking around and he is sure that he knows this place.

This is the general hospital in the city where he lives and the surrounding area is the same. He already noticed it back then from the beach, that beach kinda looked familiar to him but he did not think much about it because it might just be a look-alike. Now he is sure though, he is back to his city.

But the question is… why is he here? And how did he get here? And, what happened to him? There are many more other questions going on through his head but he did not have any way to answer it at the moment.

But before he could continue asking more questions to himself, Eliza's voice brought him back to reality.

"Let's go, let's enter the hospital." She said, then she held his arm to help him walk.

Fred nodded in agreement while still thinking of some questions.

They arrived at the hospital and handled all the processes for a check-up. After, they entered the room where the doctor was sitting on his chair waiting for people.

The doctor behind the table greeted, "Hello, sit."

Fred and Eliza sat down on the chair at the front of the table.

"So what is your problem?" Ask the doctor,

Fred did not know what happened to him so he did not know where he should start.

Eliza noticed that so she answered the doctor, "Uhm, doctor, actually we two don't know each other. I just found him floating from the water back at the beach. Luckily for him, the waves brought him to the shore so…" Eliza continued telling the story of how the two of them met to how they are here now.

Fred, who is at the side, listening to Eliza is shocked about what happened. Now he got an answer for two of his questions, what he is doing on the beach and how did he get there… well, just by floating on the sea no biggie.

After telling the doctor about it, Eliza looked at the doctor. She saw him frowning, his eyebrows locked. Fred also looked at the doctor, and heard him mumble in an almost inaudible voice, "You should be dead…"

Fred was appalled by what he heard and shouted, You said I should be dead!? Don't curse me!

Of course only inside his heart, shouted inside his heart.

It seems like the doctor was in deep thought but after a few seconds, he exclaimed "Hmm... Ah! Right. That might help." He said and stood up from his seat, "You two wait here for a minute, I will just be calling someone to check you up."

*Bang*

Without waiting for a reply, he walked with rapid footsteps towards the door and left the room.

After only the two of them left, Fred faced Eliza and asked, "Was I really just floating in the ocean?"

"Hmm.. yes, I just found you floating so I thought of helping you,"

"Hmm… I'm lucky I guess." Fred fell into deep thought as he put his hands on his chin and started rubbing the stubbles with his finger.

Seeing Fred being silent, Eliza got curious about him so she questioned, "Why are you in the sea anyway?"

"Hmm..? Oh, I was actually at Taal lake. I don't know how I arrived back here. All I remember is the water suddenly heating up to an unbearable level then… I can't remember." He said as he also tried to remember as much as he could.

When Eliza heard that Fred came from Taal lake, she has this questioning face like she has something to say, so she was going to ask him again,

But she was not able to because the door suddenly slammed open.

*Bang*

"We're here!"
