Chapter 23: I Care About You...!

That night, I was alone in Brent's guest room. I didn't think that I will spend my night in his house. At first, I feel a little awkward because, he was only my senior and at the same time, he is my neighbor too.

I think this is the first time my dad gives entrust to someone stranger to take care of me. Recently, I feel a little curious about my dad because he didn't ask me any question if he knows me with Brent. Did he approve of him as my friend? I thought.

I lie down on the bed while staring at the ceiling up there. I was pensively and thinking. Suddenly, my stomach rumbled because of hunger. I just remember that I haven't eaten since I fainted earlier. I tried to hold my hunger and just going to sleep. But...I can't!

I get up and want to go out to meet with Madam Maisie. I just thought that maybe I can ask for some food from her. I admit that I feel a little scared when I see her but, I think I don't have any choice and had to ask her rather than Brent.

I slowly open my door and slowly take my walk step. His house was a little huge and I didn't know which way I should go first. I was looking around and want to find out which one is the old lady's room.

All of sudden, I heard something weird sound from the other side. I wondering what the sound of that was. At that time, I was stood between the wall there. The sound was come out from the other room and I saw a little light from that room. The color of the light is blue. When I see the light, I feel a little familiar.

I hesitate whether I want to move forward or not. I was curious but...I feel a little afraid. Then, suddenly, a strong sound of thunder has come. I was startled and at the same time, there were someone's hands touch my back from behind. I was screaming out loud there.

''Aaaahhhh! Aaahhhh! Help me! Brent...!''

''Lilian...! Lilian...! It's me.''

''No! No! Let me go!'' Lilian was stood stiffly there and close her eyes and her ears tightly.

''Lilian, open your eyes. It's me, Brent.'' He said while holding her face with both of his hands.

''Brent, is that you? Is... that really you?''

''Yes.''

She slowly opens her eyes and she feels relieved to see him standing in front of her. "Err... senior...!"

"What are you doing here?"

"I-I... I... I was hungry!"

"What? But the kitchen is over there, not here."

"I... I was lost!"

"Come, follow me."

"Uh, okay."

After a few minutes, they arrived at the dining room. When they reached there, Lilian was surprised to see the old lady was in the kitchen too. She wondering since when she was there. She didn't hear anything sound from here just now. The old lady was busy preparing the food for them.

"Err... senior...?" She slowly pokes his shoulder gently.

"What?"

"Uhm... I know it's already late. But...Uhm...did I bother you?''

''You did not bother me but you make a burden to the old lady. Because she is the one to cook.'' He said and take a seat at the dining table.

''Huh? Really? I-I...I went there to help her!'' She said and instantly go toward the kitchen.

After she went there, Brent chuckling. He didn't expect that she will go there immediately and help her. He wondering if she can get along with Madam Maisie. With her fierce demeanor, he knows that Lilian will come out from the kitchen in a few seconds. It's because she doesn't want anyone to come close to her in the kitchen.

Brent was waiting at the table while smiling. He does a counting inside his heart to wait for Lilian to appear. But, after a few minutes, she still did not appear. Then, after twenty minutes, Lilian has appeared with a big smile. For this time, she was coming with a plate of food in her hands.

''Lilian??''

''Senior, can you help me to take this first. There is still some food inside to bring it out here.'' She gives the plate to him and hurriedly went inside the kitchen again.

Brent was startled. What actually happens right now is totally different from his thinking. He wondering why the old lady doesn't drive her out of the kitchen. Then, after all the food has been prepared, both of them eat together.

Afterward, both of us were hanging out in his house backyard. When I see his backyard place, I was fascinated by the design. He is indeed an amazing architecture student.

''Senior...don't tell me that you do all of this place?''

''Yes, I am. Why?''

''It's really amazing! I wondered how you made it.''

''It's nothing. I just do it based on my preferences. After all, the space in here before was too huge, so...I just do it like that.''

''I love it! The design was wonderful. I wish someday I can make my own design of the house. But...I don't know anything about this.''

''You wanna want my help?''

''What?? Senior...what did you say?''

''I can help you to design the house based on your preferences. You can tell me what design you want.''

''Really?? Senior, are you serious?? Actually, my dad has real estate somewhere. The place is a little too far from here because it was in the countryside. My dad and I were planned to build a house there too. He just asks me to design whatever I want to.''

''Okay, I can help you with that. But, it will take time because I have to look at that place first.''

''Don't worry, I will take you there next time!'' She replied with excitement.

''But...!''

''What?? Why are you looking like that?''

''But...you just only left two years here. And, after that, you maybe will get your job and you will be busy and...!''

''Are you worried about that or are you doubt about my skill?''

''No! I just...!''

''Don't worry, I will do it. I can't promise to complete it soon, but...I promise that I will complete the design and the actual with good. About my planned in the future, I still have time to do it.''

''Senior, did you planned to go somewhere after the graduated?''

''Kind of but...I don't know when it is. I just want to see how my career goes after that. Maybe...I will leave from here...to other places.'' He said while his eyes gaze into her eyes. He can see her eyes were in grief.

''Mmm...where you want to go?''

''Maybe...far away from this place...''

''Oh...I see...'' She replied with a little sadness. She started thinking about her feeling toward him and everything she wants to say to him. Did he really want to go away from here? A place that far from here? Where did he really want to go? She thoughts.

At that moment, both of us were silent. I was in my own space and he was also not talking. At that time, I was thinking many things. I don't know what should I react after hearing his word about his future planned. Maybe, I only just can keep this feeling on my own and without him knowing about it.

''Uhm...senior...I go inside first. I was sleepy.''

''Okay, sure.''

''Goodnight, Senior.'' I want to leave after said that but, he suddenly grabs my hand. I was startled.

''Lilian, wait. I want to check something on you.''

''Uh?''

He walks closer toward me and he was stood close in front of me. My heart was beating faster again. I wondering what he wants to do. I stood stiffly there. Both our eyes were met each other.

Then, he slowly put his hand on my forehead. I think he wants to check my temperature but...why he had to do something like this like...he really cares for me and with this behavior, my heart will be more fallen for him again and again!

''Senior, what are you doing!'' I quickly brushed his hand away and I move a little backward from him.

''I just want to check if you had your fever again. But...it feels that your body still feels warm. Are you okay? Did you still got your fever?''

''Senior, I'm okay!''

''If you are still not feeling well, I can...!''

''Senior, don't worry. Nothing happens to me. I leave first. Bye!'' I said and run away from there as soon as possible.

After she left hurriedly, Brent was a little surprised. He wondered why she quickly goes away from there. He feels worried because when he touches her forehead, it still feels hot.

''Did I do something wrong? Or...did I say something wrong?'' He thought.

In her room, Lilian was sitting on her bed and thinking again and again about him. She really confused about his behavior toward her. She can tell that sometimes, he was gentle, sometimes he is a fierce person and sometimes...he really cared about her and sometimes...she can feel that he is a stranger person.

However, after hearing his word before, she knows that maybe both of them just fated to be a friend and her senior too. To be more than that, it will really be impossible. After that, she was asleep with her own thought.

On the other side, Brent was standing for a while in front of her door room outside. He actually feels worried about her. He wants to go to his room but, he is worried that she might need anything or something happens to her. And just like that...he was spending his night in front of her room outside.
