1 Chapter 1

In the year 2072, the worlds first ever Virtual Reality game, Hell Online, was released to the world. The game creation began 4 years ago, and many people were awaiting the day that the game would be released to them. When the day finally arrived, everybody rushed to buy the game and Virtual Helmet.

Xuan Feng Ye also wanted to rush and purchase the Virtual Helmet and the game, but he is just a poor student, so how could he manage that? The cost of the Virtual Helmet and game cost 45000 Credits, and he only has 2300 Credits in his account.

After checking his savings, he let out a sad sigh. He knows that he won't ever be able to buy the Virtual Reality game and Helmet in this life, and even if he manages to do so, it would be a few years ago the game was released, so he would be too far behind.

He shook his head and sat down on his bed while opening his laptop to search on the web. He looked at the official sights for the game and stared in awe at what he read on the site, as the game is just too unbelievable to him.

There are many races in the game, reaching to over 100 in total, which gave him a shock. He didn't expect that the developers would be able to create so many races in just four years, so he was wondering just who exactly led the development of the game.

He was about to close his laptop when something popped up on his screen just before he did. He was interested and took a look at it, wondering what exactly it was that popped up suddenly.

[Congratulations! You are the one millionth person to visit this page! As a reward, you will be given a free Virtual Helmet and Hell Online game card! Please fill out the details below and wait for the delivery!]

Xuan Feng Ye was greatly surprised when he read the thing that popped up, and he even rubbed his eyes multiple times to see if it was real. After a while, he got excited and quickly put down his address and contact information.

He isn't worried about this being a scam, since hacking is not possible nowadays due to the watch everybody has from the day they were born. The watch will let them do pretty much everything, and you can even play some games on it.

[The Virtual Helmet and Hell Online game card will arrive in 8 hours! Please patiently wait!]

He was surprised that it would only take 8 hours. He figured it would take a day or two since the company should be incredibly busy now that the game just got released. He wasn't going to complain though, as he is happy to get the stuff early.

By the time the package arrived, Xuan Feng Ye had just finished eating his dinner when the doorbell rang. He got excited and hurriedly put his plate into the sink before heading over to the door and opening it, revealing a man in blue clothes.

"You are mister Xuan Feng Ye, correct? Here is your package! Please sign this paper and the procedure will be completed!"

He quickly signed his name on the paper and the deliveryman handed the box over and turned around and left Xuan Feng Ye closed and locked the door before he ran up to his room, forgetting to wash the dishes.

He opened the box slowly, afraid to damage anything. Once it was open, he looked inside and saw a black helmet with a cable on it, as well as a small card in a package beside it. He was too excited that he nearly dropped the helmet when he picked it up, nearly causing him to have a heart attack.

He calmed himself down forcefully then he picked up the helmet again. He looks around it and saw the small slot where the card goes on the left side, and the plug on the right. He changed into his pajamas and then brought the helmet and card to his bed before laying down.

He plugged the helmet in and inserted the card before he gently placed the helmet onto his head. He felt something shock his mind briefly before it disappeared, and just thought it was something that normally happens.

He closed his eyes and a black space appeared shortly later. He opened his eyes again and found that he wasn't awake in his room again, so he breathed out in relief that the helmet works properly. He looked around for a while before some screens popped up in front of him.

[Welcome to Hell Online! You are one of the 1000 people to obtain a free version of Hell Online, so you will be given a bonus package one you enter the game!]

He was surprised when he found he would get a bonus package when he started, but when he thought about it further, he found it makes sense that he would, since only 1000 people got a free version of the game. He nodded and looked at the other screens.

[Please begin creation of your character!

-Name:

-Gender: Male, Female

-Race: Human, Elf, Dwarf, Beastman(+), Undead(+), Demonkin(+), Dragonkin(+), Dryad, Fairy, Pixie, Angel, Fallen Angel....]

That was all that popped up for the character creation, so he was confused before he remembered what he read before on the site. You have to choose your race first before you can create the actual avatar, but you can still choose your gender early on.

He shakes off his confusion and sets his name as Xuan Feng Ye, just like his real name, and set the gender to Male. Then, he began to look through all the races. He found that some classes had a plus sign beside them and clicked it, only to find it brings up dozens of different sub races.

He continues looking through all the races for a while before he settled on Fallen Angel. The race is adept at flying and usage of dark magic, both of which are very useful. Angel could use holy magic, such as healing magic, but the damage output is too low.

After he confirmed his selection, he found himself moved somewhere and an average male body appeared in front of him. The only difference is the pitch black wings on it's back. He looks at the wings and finds them to look amazing, so he is excited.

[Please continue your character design!

-Face

-Height

-Body Figure

-Hair

-Eyes

-Eye Color

-Hair Color]

He brings up the face option and finds a face that looks similar to his, just a bit more handsome. After all, who doesn't like looking better? After that he changes the height to 185 CM, which is the same height as him.

As for body figure, he opened it and found all types of body shapes. He felt weird and just picked one that has well refined muscles all over the body. It doesn't have too much muscle, nor does it have too little, just right in them middle, which he finds to be the best.

He makes the hair somewhat messy and the hair goes down to just above the shoulders. His hair is like this in real life, so he finds it to be the best for himself. His eyes look too soft in real life for him, so he changes them to look more sharp, giving the face a somewhat evil look.

As for the eye color, he decided to make them silver, similar to his hair, since it makes the body look mysterious, which causes him to like it even more. He thinks for a little while for the hair color before he settled on silver, and he felt he chose good.

[Your character creation has ended! You will receive a bonus package once you enter the game! Good luck, player!]

Xuan Feng Ye felt something tug at his mind and momentarily blanked out, but he collected himself shortly after. He found himself standing in a well populated area and looked around in confusion. He then saw the names and level above peoples head, so he realized he is already in the game.

He looked down at his body and saw some simple clothes on his body, which he figures are starting clothes. He also spotted a dagger strapped to his thigh, so he grabbed it and looked at it.

[Beginner Dagger(0): A dagger distributed to every player at the start. It is rank 0, so it is pretty bad. 100/100 durability.]

He saw the information about the dagger and felt his mouth twitch briefly when he read the description about the dagger. Why say it is bad? He shakes his head and places the dagger back into the little slot on his thigh before looking around again.

The town has many different buildings all around and most of them look very well made, and some even look quite good looking, so he feels even more excited to play this game. He suddenly remembers something and thinks 'Status' in his mind, causing a screen to pop up.

[Name: Xuan Feng Ye

-Gender: Male

-Race: Fallen Angel

-Level: 1(0/100)

-Health: 100/100(4/M)

-Mana: 100/100(5/M)

-Strength: 3

-Agility: 4

-Dexterity: 3

-Vitality: 4

-Endurance: 4

-Wisdom: 5

-Intelligence: 5

-Charm: 1

-Luck: 3

-Stat Points: 5

-Skills: Analyze(P) Dark Arrow(1/5)

-Skill Points: 0

-Traits: Dark Magic, Flight

-Gil: 100]

Xuan Feng Ye got excited when he saw his Status actually appear like it said it would and looked all over it. When he saw the Skills and Traits, he already knew that they were due to his Fallen Angel race. He saw the Analyze skill and 5 stat points, and figured they were probably his bonus package, which is good.

He can already tell that the Analyze skill is why he could see the information about his dagger, and the Stat Points are used to increase his stats, which in turn increases his strength. Having gained 5 bonus stat points at the start, he can get ahead of other players.

He thought for a while about where to put his Stat Points, and eventually decided on a good distribution for them, so he went and added them how we wanted to.

[You have put 3 Stat Points into Intelligence. Intelligence increased from 5 > 8.]

[You have put 1 Stat Point into Strength. Strength increased from 3 > 4.]

[You have put 1 Stat Point into Wisdom. Wisdom increased from 5 > 6.]

He put most of them into Intelligence, since Intelligence increases his damage when using spells, and Fallen Angel is a race that mainly uses spells. He increased Strength since he will need to use his dagger most of the time when killing monsters, and higher strength helps with that.

As for wisdom, it increases his Mana regeneration and reduces the cooldown on spells, which is even more useful than Intelligence in his opinion, but he still increased Intelligence more sine higher damage helps him more early on.

Xuan Feng Ye was a bit happy and looked into his Inventory, which every player gets. It is somewhat similar to a backpack, but it is more of a magic than anything, and everything gets stored in a small dimension that is part of his characters soul.

He looks inside and it has 30 different boxes, which he assumes are the slots for the Inventory. What confused his was that there was something in the first slot, so he took it out and looked at it. It was a piece of paper, but there was nothing written on it, which confused him.

He was going to throw it away, but it was bounded to him and cannot be thrown away or traded, so he shrugged and put it back into the Inventory. He remembered about his skill at this time and decided to Analyze it.

[Dark Arrow(1/5): Shoot out 1 arrow from your hand after a short chant. Deals damaged based on target Magic Resistance. 30 second cooldown. 10 Mana per use.]

He was a bit confused by what it meant about Magic Resistance since he didn't see that on his Status, but he figures it is a hidden attribute everybody has, so he ignores it. The 10 Mana per use and 30 second cooldown seems to be about average to him, so he doesn't mind.

Now that he sorted through his Status and everything, he decided to go and find an NPC to get a quest, so he sat up from the bench he was on and began wondering around. He was near the mayors manor when players just suddenly started falling to the ground, and he could see a Fainted status effect above their heads.

He was confused and was about to turn around to run from this area, but before he could, he felt something tighten on his heart and soul, which caused him unbearable pain. He opened his mouth to scream out in pain, but no sound came out.

He noticed at the corner of his eye that there was a Fainted status effect above his head as well, just like the other players. He was confused and scared since the pain he feels currently is not something a mere 25% pain perception would give him.

The pain continued on for seconds, which turned into minutes, which turned into hours. He didn't know how long the pain assaulted him, but when it finally stopped he found himself truly fainting, and not just getting a Fainted status effect.

'What the hell is happening...'

And that was his last thought before everything turned dark and he had no awareness of anything. All he knew is that his thinking was getting slower and slower while his consciousness slowly began to dissipate, before he finally fainted.
