Macai
The feel of the wind blowing through my hair made me sigh in relief. The smells and sounds coming from the forest around me were mesmerizing. The crunch of my paw snapping twigs and stepping on leaves beneath me, the promise of rain in the air. The smell of grass below my paws, as I made my way through the forest, gave me peace. My wolf and I were happiest when we were in the forest.
I soon made my way to the cave hidden deep in the forest. Growing up a few friends and I stumbled along the cave in our early days. I smiled at the fond memories I had growing up exploring it. We came across a Vauclusian spring deep in the cave. The water was a crystal see-through blue. The cool water was always a welcome feeling after a long run.
As a pup, my beta, Duke, and a few friends would come here on the weekends. When the springs come into view, my wolf, Poseidon, lunges into the water. "I feel renewed whenever we're here." He tells me.
Most of our friends found mates shortly after they turned 18. I was happy for them but after two years I still hadn't found my mate yet. I shift back into my human form and let my body float. With my ears below the water, I let my body drift, while staring up at the ceiling of the cave.
One day I'll bring my mate and pups to this cave. Imagining my pups splashing in the water made me smile. It's normal for our kind to find our mates after becoming of age. Did the Goddess have someone in mind for me?
Anger filled me as I thought of never finding my mate. "Why haven't I found her yet?" I say aloud. If I don't find her this year I will take a chosen mate. Poseidon growls at me. "A partner for us would make us stronger. We can't keep waiting around for a mate that might never come." I growl back.
"Sir, you have that meeting in the city in an hour. We need to get going soon." Duke tells me through the mind link.
"I'm in the cave I'll leave here in 5. Meet me at the packhouse." I say as I swim to land. I can feel him smile through the link.
"I'll see you there Alpha." He says before I cut the link. I shift and run back to the packhouse. We have a meeting with the Alpha of the Bleeding Moon pack. We're meeting with our betas to discuss a possible rogue issue they've been having.
I climb out of the water and Poseidon whines, "I hate leaving here. I feel like a pup when I'm swimming in these waters."
"You sound like a pup right now," I tease him. We make our way out of the cave and shift. "Let's get this over with," we think at the same time.

Amia's POV
During the drive, Dylan holds my hand and sings songs to me. I loved it when he was like this. The car ride went by quickly that way. As we pulled up to the restaurant he excitedly got out of the car and opened my door.
I smiled at him as I got out. His arm wrapped around my waist as he gave his keys to the valet to park the car. When we got inside the hostess walked us to our seat. "Your waitress will be right with you," she said before she walked away.
We had a table with a view of the ocean. It was so beautiful I couldn't help but get lost in how vast and wide it was. "Wow," I murmured. I looked at Dylan and he was smiling at me. He reached for my hand and kissed it.
"They're going to bring out our food starting with the appetizers," he told me proudly. "You picked a great spot babe. Thanks for bringing me here." I tell him.
Soup and salad came out first followed by tenderloin steak with asparagus that was smothered in a black sauce. "Oh my gosh," I moan after taking a bite. "It's really good, isn't it?" Dylan says while smiling at me.
"I knew you'd enjoy it here. I wanted to treat you to a good meal and spend some time with you," he murmurs as he reaches over, grabs my hand, and kisses it.

Macai's POV
She took my breath away when she walked through the door. She was beautiful her blonde hair cascaded past her hips and her brown eyes were mesmerizing. She was accompanied by who I'm guessing is her boyfriend.
Without thinking I let out a growl as he pressed his lips to her hand. "Are you okay?" Alpha Brett asked me. I was brought back to my table.
"I apologize, I don't know what came over me," I murmur and bring my hand up to stroke my chin.
Duke clears his throat, "Back to what you were saying, Alpha Brett. How many rogue attacks have you had in the last month?"
Alpha Brett straightens his tie and looks over at him. "We've had 5 rogue attacks just this month. That's at least one attack a week.
I've been able to capture a few of them alive but I haven't gotten them to crack yet," he says. "But I will," he says and I can feel his menacing aura.
"Please keep us informed when you find anything out. Our territories are close so I'll tighten up security," I say and look at my beta.
"Yes, sir. I'll get on that as soon as we get back," Duke replies.
Alpha Brett goes to say something but gets distracted when he looks at the man at the other table. "Son, what're you doing here?" he says.
I look over to see that he's talking to the male wolf accompanying the female wolf I saw earlier. He looks over, gets up, and makes his way over.
"Good evening father," he says and gives a light bow. "Hello, Alpha, my name is Dylan," he says as he acknowledges me.
"What're you doing here?" Alpha Brett asks as he peers over to the woman. I can't stop my eyes from wandering over her body. She's beautiful.
"I'm brought my girlfriend on a date. I didn't know you'd be here, what a coincidence," he says. He catches me staring at his date and I smirk when I see a vein in his temple is pulsing.
"If you'll excuse me," he says as he gives a slight bow and turns. "What's your dates' name?" I ask and she turns to me and looks at me with those deep brown chocolate eyes.
He clenches his jaw before answering, "My girlfriend's name is Amia." Then he walks back over to the table and she turns her eyes down to her plate.
The table is quiet for a few minutes before the Betas talk to fill the silence. I feel her gaze on me a few times before the meeting is finished. I hate to leave but the meeting ends and it's time to go. I smile at myself when a thought crosses my mind and Poseidon growls in approval.
