2 Demonic Beast

Marcel Tandefelt was known as a stern, cold lord of Northeastern territory of Araun Kingdom. He was always logical, calm and collected. He was brute and cold to his enemies. However, one thing that people always failed to see was, he also fairly compensated anyone who contributed to Tandefelt territory. He never once made a rash decision according to his own selfishness, just like a lord should do.

Except for once.

In the novel, when Viscount Marcel found out that the royal family had something to do with Conor disappearance, he hastily cut all ties with the royal family. He then demanded for his son to be returned, yet the Fourth Prince told him that Conor died due to his crime.

The Viscount never showed any expression ever. Not in front of his people, his servants, even his own family.

People judged him as cold, and heartless. But nothing could change the fact that he treasured his family with his life. If not, why would he kept up with Conor's mess every single time? And why would he let Elmer learned swordsmanship when Elmer supposed to focus on his education to be the heir? He might not seen as a loving father, but he did his best to be one.

Yes, he was a sucker for his family.

That was why Viscount Marcel led a rebellion out of rage, the only rash and foolish decision he ever made. He trampled all the noble families who mocked his family while marching towards the royal castle. It was then, that the main character made his appearance for the first time in public.

The transmigrated middle schooler, Ren.

The Viscount destroyed everything on his way, including civilian. Maybe Viscount Marcel was unlucky, but Ren happened to be in the village that Viscount Marcel annihilated. He witnessed how the Viscount beheaded the villagers one by one. Ren who received the warmth of human affection for the first time after five years was crying in despair. He went berserk, unable to control his power and killed Viscount Marcel, the perpetrator and the villain of the novel.

The end result? Ren was traumatized due to his first human kill, however he was announced as a hero by the royal family.

When Conor first read the novel, he saw Viscount Marcel as a villain due to the perspective of the main character, Ren. But now, Conor felt a bit touched that Viscount Marcel would do that much for his son.

That was why, a mere request to change his servant would surely be granted. He was sure of that.

Conor looked at his father expression. Viscount Marcel had the same cold expression he had since he walked into this dining room. But rather than a positive reply, Viscount Marcel was silent. Conor thought that it was weird, and he was about to ask if his request was impossible after all. But Viscountess Nadia cut his words.

"What's the matter, my dear son? Did the servant do something unbefitting?" She asked, slowly putting down her knife and fork. Her expression showed a little concern.

Conor shook his head. It would be easier to lie and say the servant did something wrong. But he did not want to be that heartless, especially when his father eyeing him with a piercing gaze, ready to come up with the worst punishment available for the servant.

"No, I just want a male servant" Conor said.

It would be troublesome if the other maid will try to seduce him again. Plus, he wasn't interested in women after all. A handsome man as his butler would be good, but he would not complain as long as they weren't troublesome.

Viscount Marcel nodded in agreement.

"I'll change her with someone else. Do you need anything else?"

Conor thought for a quite long. But he didn't need anything else, since he was basically a freeloader in this mansion. Everything already taken care of, and he didn't need to starve. Honestly that was enough for him, but since he needed to dodge some deathly bullets in his life, he needed some money to realize his plans.

"I spent all the money you gave me already" Conor finally said after a deep thought.

As if already expecting it, Viscount Marcel quickly responded.

"Come to my study tomorrow at any time, I'll give you double the amount from before. And.." he paused before continuing. "I need to talk to you about something"

Conor was caught off guard with the sudden seriousness. He was a bit curious, but he might have an idea what it was about. When he thought about it again, the creepy servant of his did say a couple days ago that Viscount Marcel called him to his study. He was still depressed at that time and refused to meet his father. Then, was the family dinner today was for this reason?

Conor looked around, and he remembered that the novel mentioned that Conor wasn't fond of meat. Too much meat, and his stomach would churn uncomfortably. And he wasn't that dumb to notice that though the dinner was luxurious, not even a single meat presented at all.

Realizing Viscount Marcel consideration, Conor almost failed to hide his evil smile.

'Wait... Isn't it too easy?? I almost feel bad for planning to take advantage of the Viscount's kindness'

He thought. But he didn't have any plan to stop anyways. His father would be more than happy to help out his son right?

"How about you, Elmer?"

Viscount Marcel proceeded to ask Elmer, who secretly took glances towards Conor. Not only him, Viscountess Nadia even openly stared at him, as if observing Conor's every single move. She let out a small smile when Conor returned her gaze and continued to take a spoonful of her meal.

Elmer then turned his gaze to Viscount Marcel, who waited for his reply.

"I don't need anything, Father."

The moment Elmer said that, Conor tried to hold his smile. He only saw Elmer for a couple of hours, but it seemed like Elmer was just as nice as the novel described.

'As expected of a good boy'

He thought.

After dinner, Conor thought about a lot of things. First, he needed to find out what part of timeline in the novel he was thrown to.

Thankfully, the horizontal scar on his chest was not there yet. If the original Conor had met Ren, he was supposed to have that scar already.

Conor heaved in relieve. He was still far back in the beginning of the novel.

As to why Conor got his scar, it was too ridiculous to even think about. For the background, Ren was transported to the most unforgiving environment ever exist in this world.

'The Lawless Land of Demons'

That was the name of the land which nobody in this world ever stepped in. There were little to no record about that land in history, but people said Demons and Demonic Beasts were roaming around the land. The sole reason for it was because of,

'The Mountain range of the death'

This vast mountain range were bordering The Lawless Land of Demons. And just like the name, the environment of the mountains were impossible for normal living beings to exist. That was why no humans ever crossed the mountains.

After wandering for five years, Ren eventually crossed The Mountain Range of Death and found his way to Tandefelt territory. Which was, close enough to The Mountain Range of Death. However, due to his strange aura shabby appearance, the border guards mistook him for Demonic Beast and captured him on the spot. Later, the news of Demonic Beast had crossed The Mountain Range of Death was spreading fast among the viscounty. And Conor who heard of it foolishly tried to test his bravery, visiting Ren in his underground cell.

Long story short, he straightly humiliated and beat up Ren who was restricted with chains and magic device. When things went too far though, Ren released his shadow magic for self defense, but he couldn't control his power, almost killing Conor in the process.

That was how the original Conor got his scar.

Conor huffed.

'What kind of normal person would go up to demonic beast and try to anger them? Even for a stupid idiot like Conor, there was a limit of being a dumbass'

He thought silently.

The only reason why Ren wasn't hostile was, because he was glad to finally encounter humans. Ren was more than capable to kill all the guards and escape by himself, but Ren wanted to communicate to humans, which was something that Ren couldn't do for the last five years of his life. But the original Conor did something unnecessary and messed it up.

In that regard, Conor's grand plan was to find Ren before anyone else. With that, not only he could avoid being in the brink of death, he could also stop unecessary rumors from spreading out. He wanted to avoid being involved with the Royal Family if he could. Since the royalties would be quite adamant to own the Demonic Beast for some reason.

Or so he thought.

The next day, he heard about the appearance of Demonic Beast near the Mountain range of the death.
