Chapter 1 - Heliopolis

Cosmic Era 71, Haw's family residence, Heliopolis:

"Mom, Dad, Shin-nii! I'm off to school!" Miriallia Haw shouted as she ran towards the front door, wearing her shoes and then slammed the door opens as she continued on running due to late of getting to the school.

"Be careful there, Miri!" I, Shin shouted from the dining room where I'm currently at, having a breakfast with my parents.

"Good grief, where does she even learned acting like that?" My dad, Jacques Haw grumbles while reading his newspaper.

"Isn't it from you, dear? You do tend to act impatiently when in clinch after all~" said by my mom, Henrietta Haw, from the kitchen as she washes the dishes.

"Oi, that's uncalled for!" He denied her reasoning.

"HAHAHAHA!" I laughed as I watched their shenanigans.

"Oi Shin, you dare laugh at me?!" Dad focused on me instead, showing his fake anger.

Ah~ Peaceful life is the best~…Hey, it's ya boy here, Death God, now known as Shin Igami or Igami Shin, whichever you prefer. Apparently after my spectacular suicide bombing, I didn't manage to kill myself. Dunno what happened, one moment I was in Primal Chaos dying from the Myriad Tribulation Poison, and the next moment when I'd woken up from my unconsciousness I was in the hospital bed, de-aged into a teenager and surrounded by the Haw family whom saved me as they found me on the beach.

Having no idea on how I ended up here, I told them that I've only remembered my name, Igami Shin and nothing else due to amnesia resulted from my injuries. Feeling sad due to my circumstances, they decided to adopt me as their son and thus began my new life on the unfamiliar Earth. I said unfamiliar since it didn't share the same characteristic as my first world before I died. It could be way in the future for all I know but I didn't care at all, as long as I can live peacefully I'm satisfied.

They're all nice people so I don't have much trouble on that part. At first, I kinda closed myself from them, interacting with them only when they start it first, but having the cheerful Miriallia Haw as my younger step-sister managed to open my heart. So I learn to let go of the past and focusing on the present, living with them peacefully as long as I can. This lifestyle continued on for several years until now, and I can say for sure that I'm willing to do anything I can to keep them safe from any sort of danger.

"…The current tension between ZAFT and the Earth Alliance's forces continued on due to ZAFT's recent attack on the Republic of East Asia's Kaohsiung spaceport in Taiwan. The Earth Alliance's spokesperson said…"

The voice heard from the news currently aired in the television enters our ears.

"*Sighs* Looks like it's getting even worse now, I wonder what will happen next?" Dad sighs as he heard the recent news.

"Luckily we're currently living here in Heliopolis, thank god for you to suggest us to move away from Orb's mainland 2 years ago, dear." Mom added more.

"Yeah, this colony is a neutral area so the fightings shouldn't spread here." Dad nodded, agreeing to mom's input.

I however was lost in thoughts due to the recent news. Dad's decision for us moving out from Earth was influenced by me using one of my profound arts techniques. If not, he'd been unwilling to do it since he does have a good career while in Orb. This was all so that we're as far away as possible from the conflict, ensuring our safety.

The conflict between ZAFT and Earth Alliance had escalated during these few years, the main impetus happening due to Earth Alliance's act of firing nuclear weapons towards one of ZAFT's colony, Junius Seven, thus killing millions of innocent people. ZAFT then retaliates by invading Earth, destroying one military base after another.

These all happens due to the envy of Naturals towards the Coordinators superior ability, some of them dubbing those Coordinators as space devils that will destroy the world…Such meaningless fight, why can't you guys just get along together? You're both humans too ain't ya? This reminds me back during my time in Primal Chaos, devils and humans hating each other just for a bit difference. I'm soo fucking tired of this shit…But the terms of ZAFT and Earth Alliance does sounds eerily familiar to me, where did I heard that before?...My memories somehow failed me.

So I've decided to get away from the conflict as far as possible, thus leading us Haw family to live here in Heliopolis. Hope that everything will simmer down once they had released all their steam…but I'm not optimistic for that happening soon. Why don't you just interfere with the conflict? You should have enough strength to do it ain't you?

…Well, to tell you the truth, my ability was nerfed heavily due to several reasons. One, I'm still recuperating from my injuries due to the poison. I've damaged almost all my profound veins thus losing all my cultivation level. Two, this world didn't have much profound energy that I can absorb into. There are almost zero of them in Earth, and while the space has more of it, it ain't much of a difference.

However, I'd managed to accelerate the absorption due to the formations I've laid across the entire colony. Right now, my cultivation rank is around the middle of the Sky Profound Realm, so I can somewhat fight if I'm forced to. But I don't have any sort of interest of doing it now, I'll leave the ZAFT and Earth Alliance to solve their own problems. I'm so done with fighting, just let me rest in peace please.

"…Shin?...Shin!"

"Uwooahh?! What's the matter, Mom?" I was brought out from my thoughts due to my mom's shouting.

"Don't you have to work today? You'll be late if you kept on dallying you know?" Said mom as she pointed towards the clock, indicating its way passed 8 o'clock.

"Crap! Got to go Mom, Dad! See ya later!" I immediately run towards the main door, rushing to my workplace. Hope the Section Chief won't yell at me again for being late.

"Geez~ You and Miri are just the same~" My mom's voice was heard faintly as I went out from the house.

Heliopolis Agriculture area:

"Yer are late again, Shin!" A rough voice shouting is heard as I arrived at my workplace.

"I'm sorry, Section Chief! I won't do it again!" I replied as I bowed towards him while apologizing.

"…Aight, just go to yer station now, today's ya need to work extra hard since Kaz boy downed due to fever. Get yer ass movin'!"

"Eeh~ Really? Just my bad luck."

I grumbled as I walked towards my workstation unhappily. Yep, got me a job as a farmer, growing dem vegetables for the colony. So why do you choose this kind of work? You didn't have a good education or something? Nope, I graduated from highschool perfectly, it's just that tending the farms somehow soothes my heart. Giving a new life instead of reaping one just like during my time as a Death God, perhaps it will somehow clear my sins. Though I doubted it.

I then continued on my work dutifully, working twice as fast since I need to cover the work for 2 people after all, which lasts until the middle of afternoon where I finally have some lunch break.

"Phew~ That's a nice workout." I exhaled my breath as I wiped out my sweats and began to eat the bentos prepared by my mom.

"Good work there, Shin boy." Section Chief greets me as he sat next to me for his own lunch break.

"Oh~ Section Chief. Done with work too?"

"Yep, havin' lunch here after working hard on the lands calms me down." Said Section Chief as he observed the greeneries spreading across our views.

"Agreed." I nodded.

"Now if only dem peoples stop fighting that'll be great." He added more regarding on the current situation happening in the world.

"Ye-"

*BOOM!*

*WWEEEEWWWW~*WWWEEEEEEWWWW*WEEEEEEEEWWW*

I wanted to agree to Section Chief's words but it was interrupted due to sudden explosion coming from the horizon, accompanied with the colony's siren rang throughout the area.

"…The fuck?" I muttered.

"OI GUYS! STOP WHATEVA' YA DOIN' AND HEAD OUT TO NEAREST SHELTER NOW! Ya too, Shin!" Section Chief immediately urged us to go to the nearest shelter.

"…Sorry Section Chief, I gonna check my families first!" I stand up before running while trying to call my parent's phone…Damn, communication was cut, there's no signal at all.

"Oi, Shin!" Section Chief shouted due to my abrupt action.

"Damn it, I've grown complacent! Should've kept my detection technique on all time! Fuck!" I cursed as I ran at a speed more than a normal person being able to.

"Ah, to hell with it! Shadow Ferry!" I immediately throw caution out of the window, activating my teleportation profound art, appearing directly inside my house and shocking the hell out of my parents. Luckily Dad's off day is today, so I didn't have to pick him up from the office.

""SHIN!"" They both shouted due to my sudden appearance.

"No time to talk! We need to go to the shelter NOW!" I immediately grabbed them and then teleported again to the nearest shelter's entrance.

"Now go inside, Mom, Dad."

"B-but Miri is still out there! I can't call her phone!" Mom grabbed my shirt while having teary eyed.

"Don't worry Mom, I'll find her next, believe me. Now go!"

"Dear, let's go inside…Shin, you're gonna tell us all your secrets later on, you hear me?!" Dad grabbed Mom, urging her to go inside the shelter already.

"…Of course, wouldn't want to hide anything from my parents ain't I?" I said as I disappeared from their view, heading towards where Miriallia at. Please be safe Miri, I beg you.

At the center of the city:

Appearing immediately in the middle of the crumbling city, I quickly ran towards where Miriallia at, detecting her location via the talisman I gave to her before as a lucky charm. It's actually a signal beacon for me to keep on her track just in case something bad happens. A few seconds later, I arrived at the destination, where I was shown of a view of Miriallia and what I'm assuming as her friends huddled together as they watched the ongoing battle between an unfamiliar mobile suit and ZAFT's GINN. Crap, they're gonna hit with the fighting's aftermath, gotta move fast!

"Moon Splitting Cascade!" I quickly used the high-speed movement taught to me by Mu Xuanyin, ignoring the pain generated due to its harsh requirements, and appearing directly in front of them.

"Shadow Bind!" I immediately bound both mobile suits via shadow-based technique in order to stop them from potentially hurting Miri and the others, and then,

"Ice Lance!" forming a huge ice lance, I hurled it towards the GINN's cockpit which immediately pierce it, killing its pilot instantly. I didn't do the same towards the other mobile suit since I've judged that ZAFT was the aggressor.

"…Shin-nii?" Miriallia called me as she wakes up from the stupor due to the abrupt situation happening in front of her right now.

"Yo, Miri, sorry for coming too late. Got some work to do you know? But don't worry, now that I'm here everything will be fine." I turned towards her, saying those things while smiling harmlessly. In the background, the ZAFT forces began to retreat due to the sudden situation.

"…Tian'er?" A sudden voice was heard from one of her friends.

"Who are you! How did you know that name?!" I immediately zeroed my view towards the dark red-haired girl, asking her why did she knew my former name.

"Tian'er!" She immediately hugged me tightly, tears coming out from her eyes profusely. This sensation, this calming scent, the way she called me affectionately…it can't be?!

"…Y-Yao'er?" I uttered my former wife's nickname, a short form for Chi Wuyao.

"Un…" She nodded as she continues to cry, perhaps due to happiness.

And thus I've finally reunited with the love of my life, in the bloodied battlefield.
