In the coming years, the prince never took any woman inside the harem other than Su Jin Xia, leaving all the other concubines left alone. But along with that, he also never had a child with her.
This made everybody worry. The third prince is now the current crown prince as the previous one was exiled and stripped off of his title and status. And a crown prince is the future emperor who must have heirs for the throne.
This greatly bothered Su Jin Xia though her husband had never worried about it. She is not infertile and was diagnosed to have difficulty in conceiving one. So, she and the prince did their all to have a child. Taking tonics and proper treatments.

She pants underneath him and only willing to let go when he is done releasing it all.
Her body fell limping and laid down on the bed while her husband went inside the bathroom to clean his self first before bringing a hot towel to clean her.

Because for four years, they still don't have a child. Surprisingly, the prime minister (Su Jin Xia's father) didn't reject the ministers' ideas despite his very own daughter being discussed to be demoted.
But the new emperor didn't agree and Su Jin Xia will be his empress.
This sentence didn't escape the ministers' ears and took the opportunity. The emperor said to take the prime minister's daughter as his empress but never said to be the only one in his harem ah. Then, their beautiful daughters and the other concubines in the harem still have chances.

Finally, she would meet her husband whom she have missed and never saw for the last month. She smilingly rubbed her flat belly. Sitting inside the carriage in her beautifully embroidered red robes, she was confused why it is very silent outside. Suddenly, her breathing fastened, her body is in tormenting pain. She couldn't take the pain and lost consciousness.
When she woke up, it was cold. The room looks decent but eerily silent and cold. She was about to call for someone when the door opened and a woman came in.
"Han Minglan! You, why are you here!?"

On a jade pool's surface in a faraway place, the scene played out as a woman sat beside it immersed in her tea. But watching the scene, a frown is revealed on her face.
Waving her hand, the scene changed and a man in golden red robes sitting in his study. He was in a deep thought before sighing in boredom.

For now, work is more important.
Yan Yi glanced back at the jade pool which shows a magnificent red painted pavilion with gold linings. In the podium lies a sleeping woman, so beautiful and loveable. Her red robes only enhanced her beauty. Like a rose blooming.
Yan Yi sipped a bit of tea before opening her petal like lips.
