53 Ch. 51 - Limitations
<Dipper's POV>
After checking all the rewards, I quickly made my way back to the Pokemon Center to heal my Pokemon and check out the 'World Portal' function.
Reaching the Pokemon Center, The first thing I did was heal my Pokemon.
After healing my Pokemon, I hurried to the PC at the back of the Pokemon Center.

Without hesitation, I selected <World Portal>
A new interface appeared materialized before me, presenting two choices.
[Items]
[Pokemon]
I first clicked on the Items and a list of all my items in my backpack appeared.
To test things, I clicked on a Poke Ball and a new option appeared.

[Monthly Limit - 4/4]
[Cancel]
Given the limited number of monthly transfers, I clicked on <Cancel > since only an idiot would waste one of four chances to bring a normal Poke Ball instead of something incredible to the Real World.
I again clicked <Cancel > and came out of the Items list, and this time I chose <Pokemon >.
The list of Pokemon appeared but the list only consists of the Pokemon on my current team.
Just for testing, I chose Oddish from the list and similar options appeared but this time additional information appeared.

[Please Note that taking Living things to another World is not possible, as such, the selected Pokemon will be reverted back to its Egg form, In doing so the Pokemon will lose all its Levels, Stats, and Moves, and it'll even Devolve to its first form if any. While the player will lose the ownership of the Pokemon.]
[The Pokemon will de-age back to its Egg, and only then will it be possible to transfer it to the other world. The player will have to hatch the Egg in order to get the Pokemon. The newly hatched Pokemon will have to be re-caught in order to reclaim the ownership of the Pokemon. It is also possible for someone else to catch it and gain its ownership.]
[Another thing to consider is that the Pokemon will have no memories of this world.]
[WARNING : Any Pokemon brought to another World can't be brought back to this World.]
"Fuck" Is all I could say after reading all the information in front of me.
"Not only the Pokemon will lose everything, but it will even turn back to an Egg."
"Egg, Egg, Fucking EGG"
"How the fucking am I going to hatch a Pokemon Egg?"
"From what I could remember, there are two ways through which a Pokemon Egg could be hatched."
"One is to use an Incubator and the other one is to walk a certain distance with the Egg."
"Now if I take the Pokemon Egg to Real World then most probably it wouldn't follow game rules, so I think Incubator is the way to hatch the Egg."
"But I don't know where to get an Incubator from. Maybe I could try using body heat to hatch the Egg."
"And I would also need Poke Balls in the Real World to catch the Pokemon after it hatches."
"So that means, for every Pokemon that I take out, I would also need to bring Poke Balls as well, Let's just hope that one Poke Ball each will be enough to catch them."
It was difficult to say anything for certain without trying.
Since I didn't actually plan on taking out Oddish, I clicked on <Cancel >. And after two more cancels, I was back at the main menu of the PC.
This time, I chose <GTL >, a new interface opened with four different options on the side.

I first clicked on <Pokemon Listing> and as I expected, I was met with an empty interface with 'No Entries' written.
I selected <Item Listing> and again met with an empty interface, the same with <Your Listing>.
As I clicked on <Create Listing>, a new interface appeared with the option to either select an Item or a Pokemon, blow that the option for the price was present along with the listing fee and total value area.
At the bottom, two buttons were present.

After checking out all the options of <GTL >, I closed the PC.
"Now, I need to think."
"First of all, Which Pokemon to take?"
"I need to choose carefully since I can only bring out two Pokemon because the other two use of 'World Portal' will be used to take out Poke Ball. I just hope that I'll be able to catch the Pokemon with one Poke Ball after it hatches."
"From the two Pokemon, I have promised to give one to Lily, which leaves me with only one Pokemon. Now, I need to consider everything before I can decide which Pokemon to take."
"A Pokemon that can help me in the Real World. Pokemon like a Machop or Mankey would be great but against modern weapons, not so much."
"Then Pokemon like Pikachu or Ponyta would be great because of their control over elements but they are flashy and would also require careful maintenance."
"Pokemon like Onix or Geodude are out of the box. Imagine walking down the road and you see a giant rock snake poking out of a window or a floating head with arms flying around the streets."
"Pokemon like Drowzee or Mr. Mime could be helpful with their Psychic abilities but I don't know to what extent they can use their powers in the Real World."
"A Pokemon that wouldn't require much care, wouldn't be too flashy, and could protect me."
"Based on that, the only Pokemon I could think of that I can catch around here is Gastly."
"It's a Ghost-Type Pokemon, which means it doesn't need much care. Since It is a Ghost, It can also hide itself and could easily protect me from the shadows."
"But then again, I am not in any immediate danger. Even though everyone probably knows about me and my achievements, they don't know my Real World identity. That means as long as my identity is not exposed I am safe."
"That means I need to prevent everyone from finding out about my identity, It is going to be hard especially so in a digital age."
Talking about the digital age reminded me of something.
"That's right, I forgot about that Pokemon."
"Since that Pokemon is entirely made up of programming code and could move freely in cyberspace."
"The manmade Pokemon Porygon."
"From what I remember, Porygon was a useless Pokemon in the game but what interested me was that it was an artificial Pokemon that was made up of code. Porygon has the ability to revert itself entirely back to program data in order to enter cyberspace."
"So, If I take Porygon with me back to the Real World then I would essentially have a living code that will do whatever I ask it to do like stopping people from posting news about me or completely erasing my digital presence."
"But the problem is that there is no wild encounter location of Porygon, I mean I don't think there is. All I know is that it can only be exchanged using the coins from the 'Game Corner' in 'Prize Exchange'."
"Well, Lucky for me the 'Game Corner' is in 'Celadon City'."
"But first, I'll need to defeat the Team Rocket."
"Now that I have decided which Pokemon I'll be taking out, that leaves me with the Pokemon for Lily."
"I think Hoppip would be a good Pokemon since it is small enough to hide and cute enough for a girl to like."
"The only problem is that Hoppip levitates which adds the risk of being blown away with a strong wind, but then again since we'll be hiding them from the rest of the World, we'll mostly keep them indoors, so the risk of being blown away is almost nonexisting."
"Wait, doesn't the 'Prize Exchange' also have Dratini for exchange."
"Dratini is also a cute Pokemon that evolves into a powerful Dragonite, but the problem is I don't think Dratini would be able to survive for long on land and would require a large enough water body to live in."
"Lily would need a giant aquarium or a pond in which Dratini could live. Though I do think Dratini could survive on land but I can't say for sure after it is brought to the Real World."
"That's too much hassle and might expose the existence of Pokemon, guess Dratini is off the table."
"You know what, I'll wait until I am done with everything in the 'Celadon City' before I make a decision. Maybe I would encounter some interesting Pokemon that Lily would like."
"Now one last thing to consider"
"Should I travel to another Region or continue on with 'Kanto Region'?"
"Besides 'Kanto Region', I don't know anything about any other Region, What is the Storyline, What types of Pokemon there are, What types of Puzzle and how to solve them. I don't know anything."
"Maybe I should focus on completing 'Kanto Region' first before going to other Regions."
