1 Ch. 00 - Prologue

"Damn it, I lost to Misty again."

"It is so much harder to defeat the gym leaders in PokeMMO compared to the original Fire Red game."

My name is Dipper and I am currently playing a game called 'PokeMMO' which I found one day when I was scrolling through short videos and stumbled upon a video related to 'PokeMMO'.

Instantly it caught my eye as unlike other Pokemon games whether they are official or fan-made, are all only single-player but that's not the case for 'PokeMMO'.

'PokeMMO' is a multiplayer game where players can play together, trade, duel with each other, and much more. And did I mention that there are not 1 but 5 regions in the game and players can travel from one region to another as long as they have 4 Gym badges.

I was instantly attracted to the game but the problem is I am not a Pokemon expert and in my whole life I have only ever played Pokemon Fire Red which took me 2 months to complete.

So my intrusive thoughts won and I downloaded the 'PokeMMO' game. Since I have only ever played the Pokemon Fire Red game, So I chose Kanto as my starting region.

I chose Charmander as my starter Pokemon and after playing the game I could instantly feel the difference as there were more wild Pokemon encounters and I also encountered Pokemon that were not in the original Pokemon Fire Red.

The more I played the game the more interesting it became.

And here I am after 2 days of playing the game, I finally reached 'Cerulean City' where the second Gym is located with Misty as its Gym leader.

Today I was aiming to defeat Misty and try the infinite Nugget trick that I used to do when I played the original Pokemon Fire Red.

But after 17 tries, I still could not defeat Misty.

"Fuck that [Water Pulse] attack!!! and fuck Starmie!!!"

"Maybe I should catch some Grass-Type Pokemon to counter Misty's Water-Types."

*Sigh*

"Back to the grind, I guess."

"Currently, I have Charmeleon and a Mankey that I caught on 'Route 22' when I was passing from 'Viridian City'. Now, I just need to catch a Grass-Type Pokemon and level it up."

Before I could proceed to 'Route 4' to catch some Grass-Type Pokemon, a sudden loud noise interrupted my plans as everything went black.

*Groan*

'Where am I? The last thing I remember was a bolt of Purple Lightning tearing through the roof of my House and then a bright flash. After that, things went black.'

"Where AM I?"

'This is definitely not my room, and I know that this is not a dream since my head is killing me.'

'Why is my head hurting so much?'

'I do not have the hobby of drinking Alcohol, So it is not a hangover. What could it be?'

I tried to stand up from wherever I was sitting as I was preoccupied with my sudden shift of location that I did not notice, which I now notice is a bed with red color bedsheets.

*Thump*

Before I could fully stand up, I fell back onto the bed and was assaulted by a head-splitting pain as memories of someone else started appearing in my head.

"Surprise Surprise Mother Fucker, I got Isekai'd." I said as I jumped off the bed, now standing with my wobbling legs and my out-of-order breathing.

'The previous owner of this body was also Dipper, with the same facial structure and age as me. But unlike me who had family in my past life, the owner of this body was an orphan and was raised in an orphanage.'

I sat back down on the bed so as to not fall face first because my legs were still wobbling from the intense pain that I just experienced.

'After turning 15, the owner of this body left the orphanage to start living independently but without proper education or work experience, he was only able to get some low-paying part-time jobs. And this small apartment was rented from the money he got from the orphanage's owner.'

"Now that I have taken his place, I will have to think of ways to make money and live comfortably. Though It would have been more interesting if this world had Magic or other fantasy elements. Well, It is still better than being Dead"

I kept sitting on my bed until my legs stopped shaking and my breathing stabilized. After some time I got up from my bed and observed my surroundings.

The apartment is relatively small with a bed, a table, and a chair as well as a small area for cooking. From the looks of it, the paint on the wall is old and now has a moist smell to it. Overall it is not that bad considering the monthly rent of the apartment.

I put my hand in my pocket to get my phone, which is the same model as the one that I had in my previous life. but unlike in my previous life where I bought a new phone, this one is a second-hand phone which the previous owner of the phone had to sell for a cheaper price because of a green line in the middle of the screen.

I scan through the Internet for any important information that I may have missed while inheriting the memories of the previous owner. But it looks like I did not miss anything important.

This world or planet is also called Earth and has almost similar history. If it was not for the changes in my previous life and the life of the owner of this body then I might have thought that am still in my previous world.

Even the time period and today's date are the same as my previous life had I not been killed by that purple lightning.

*Knock* *Knock*

I heard a loud knock on the door of the apartment.

'It must be the Land Lord of this apartment, came to get the rent for this month.'

Steadily, I made my way to the door and gently opened it.

"Give me the rent"

Before I could fully open the door I heard a loud voice coming from an old man with practically no hair on his head.

This is my Land Lord, Named Umash, who may look and act like a grumpy old man, but he was kind enough to give me this apartment at a lower price than the original price.

"Gramps, Why are you shouting at Dipper?"

A sweet voice came from behind the Land Lord, causing Umash's face to stiffen.

From behind Umash, came a beautiful girl of similar age to me. She is Lily, the granddaughter of Umash. Her parents died in a Traffic Accident when she was only 9 years old, leaving her alone with her Grandfather Umash. Since the accident, Umash has been taking care of Lily all alone because Umash's wife and Lily's Grandmother also died in that accident.

"Gramps, You know that Dipper is having difficulty getting a stable job, or else he would have already paid his rent. Can't you overlook it this time." said Lily in a sweet tone.

"Oh, is that so? then it's okay. I could make an exception for Dipper just because you said so." saying that Umash turned back and went to another room to collect the rent.

"Hi Dipper, you look handsome as always." said Lily with a little blush on her cheeks.

'Who would have known that a beautiful girl like Lily would have a crush on an orphan like me.'

'Even the previous owner of this body did not have any idea about this. But, unlike the dense protagonist, I have enough brain cells to notice this.'

"Hello, Hello, Dipper, Are you there...?"

"Ah, Yes"

"Where have you been lost while I was talking to you?" Lily said, pretending to be angry.

"Lily, did you know about the Harry Potter books?" I asked Lily

"Harry Potter...?" asks Lily, still confused about what Harry Potter books have to do with this conversation.

"It's just that even the 7 Books of Harry Potter do not have as much magic when compared to your eyes." I said with a little smile on my face.

*Puff*

Lily's face instantly turned red, and even her ears were no exception.

"I... I think...."

"I think Gramps is calling me. I should go." saying that Lily ran away.

'HeHe, she is so cute.'

Just as I closed the door and turned back, I remembered that I had to go and get some groceries.

Making a 180-degree turn, I went out of the apartment and locked the door behind me.

After 10 minutes of walking, I was in front of a small convenience store from which the previous owner always bought his groceries.

Another 10 minutes later, I walked out of the convenience store with a plastic bag full of Instant Noodles and Energy Bars.

Just as I came out of the convenience store, I saw the most unimaginable thing that I could have possibly hoped for in the sky.

There is a giant Professor Oak in the sky.
