2 The Accursed Child of Sadim

Year 1XJ01M: Month 1 : Day 5

A middle aged man is sitting on the clouds. He has a gray, shoulder-length hair tight in a ponytail left aside his aloof face. Dancing gray eyes, set tightly within their sockets, watch thoughtfully over the busy street as the people go about their business. He wears a full set of robes shining in its purple hue and golden sparkles. But despite his large frame and flashy colorful garments, nobody seems to notice him not even the birds flying in the sky. "Hmm. That's the 10th quest he has finished, without even a hint of hesitation might I add. I have picked myself quite a shameless fellow" puzzled eyes stares at the figure which appears to be bathing in the town square. "Hehe, what an amusing fellow, let's give him a suitable 'reward' for all his hard work"

Down bellow, a small girl about 10 of age can be seen with scarlet straight hair hanging over her face. A worried look evident on her face. "Feng'er. Let's get out of here. People will say you're crazy again." This girl is Mao Heng, a girl who is conveniently placed as the childhood friend of Li Feng.

"I know that boy. I heard he is just an orphan recently" "Poor boy, he lost his mind from the shock of losing his parents" "They say that boy is cursed! Even his grandparents weren't spared after they took him" no matter how low they whispered, gossips of the crowd was still picked up by the duo. "Don't mind them. I just need a bit more time." Said the half naked youth.

"Guard! He's over here" "You there! Get out of there!" Two men split the crowd with a bellow.

"Lets go!"Li Feng suddenly jumped out of the water. Quickly picking up his clothes at the edge of the fountain he then grabbed Mao Heng's hand with his free hand and ran. "Move out of the way!" shoving his way through the gossiping crowd knocking some of them down. "Hey careful!"

"Young master!" an able bodied man helped a boy get up. Another man rush up to the direction Li Feng ran, being unable to properly protect his young master shamed him greatly, thoughts of brutality enters his mind as he decided to punish the perpetrator. "Stop! There is no need for that!" young man glares at his guard as he seems to know what he plans to do. "Yes! Young master!" the guard said in frustration through the gnashing of his teeth. The young noble dusted his clothes then starts walking away from the crowd, a weird glint can be seen in his eyes "Let's go back. Also, investigate those two fellows." Nobody seems to notice them even after all that shouting.

Moments later, two children can be seen arguing behind a tree.

"What were you thinking! Why do you keep doing these things! If you keep doing this kind of stuff, the people will keep saying mean things about you!" the girl lecturing Li Feng, anger and embarrassment evident on her face, but more importantly worry.

Li Feng is in a pathetic state kneeling, his fair face is bruised and his once curly hair is now in a mess, "I'm sorry Heng'er, I can't really explain it to you right now but it's something I need to do."

Mao Heng is unconvinced and suspicious but gave up "Fine! I'll stop asking you, but you should really stop. People will say you are cursed again."

"I don't really care what other people say" Li Feng said nonchalantly.

"I'll go back home, you should clean yourself first before coming back." Mao Heng turns around and walked away, her eyebrows burrows "He is keeping secrets from me again" she pouted.

When Mao Heng can no longer be seen, Le Feng stood up and his lips curved into a smile. "Who cares about other people if one is strong? Why worry about shame if I can level up? Pride? Can you eat that?", He laughs "I forgot! I should look and see the fruits of my efforts. Status!" as he was too busy running away and pacifying his childhood friend Mao Heng.
