9 Chapter 9

Chen went with the Agni Kai Triad members to their headquarters. It was a commercial building on the corner of the street. Of course, commerce was just a cover for the illegal activities of the gang. Chen entered with the members who'd come to summon him. He put his hands in his pocket as if he wasn't concerned.

'Now, they are pissing me off,' he thought when they reached a certain door.

Chen had a stiff expression on his face. He wasn't slightly afraid of anything. The only reason he came to this place was to know if there is anything he should put his guard against.

One of the three guys opened the door and said. "Go in."

Chen honestly didn't care about the disrespectful tone of the guy. With his hands in his pocket, he entered the door and pushed the guy's shoulder. Ignoring the pissed-off glare behind him, he grabbed the nearest chair and sat down. He placed a leg above another and looked at the man who was sitting at the desk in front of him.

"So, I'm wondering why did the boss of the Agni Kai Triad summon me?" Chen said with a cold tone. "I've thought that we settled the financial matters."

This was Rike. He had spiky black hair with few white spots. He was muscular and a known firebender. His yellow eyes scanned Chen.

"Oh, Young man. If you think you just paid off your debts, then you are sadly mistaken." Rike was speaking with a commanding tone. Chen didn't like it, and he replied.

"And why is that? Don't you know how to count money?" Chen asked.

Few veins appeared on the triad's boss head. "This is your first and last warning young man, speak with respect toward your elders. If you want to die, then you can. Just don't pay your debts."

"I still owe you?" Chen raised his eyebrows.

"Yes, remember the last match you played. It reached my ear that you played the result. It means that you stole from me. No one steal from Rike."

"You guys don't bet on these matches. I don't see how this concern you."

"My niece did, and she wants her money back," Rike said. "I'm not going to ask for a large sum. You are going to pay only 500.000 Yuan. Of course, there is an easier way for you. You seem to be quite popular in the pro-bending matches. In that case, why don't you lose a couple of matches for me."

'And ruin my winning streak, no way.'

Chen didn't make any expression when he looked at the mafia boss's eyes.

It seemed that the Agni Kai were blackmailing him to manipulate the pro-bending matches results.

The illegal bets weren't only on the illegal matches, but on the legal ones too.

There were triads that manipulated the results. The Tipple Threat Triad used to do that. Other triads wanted to enter that business, but they'd no connection to pro-benders.

"So, what do you think? Work for me, and you'll be free."

What Chen wanted to say, is fuck you. And then, he would start a fight.

However, he wasn't in an advantageous position.

Even if he accepted Rike's offer, Rike would still chase him to do more jobs.

The only way for Chen to get out is to get rid of the triad.

'They think that I'm an easy person. Their mistake,' Chen felt some anger. But he didn't show it on his face.

He couldn't just start a fight now.

He would visit their headquarter later and attack from the outside.

His advanced lightningbending, which is more advanced than anyone had discovered in this world, would do the trick. But he needed to attack from the outside and ambush them.

That's it, Chen decided to ambush them when they don't expect it.

Seeing that he didn't answer, Rike said. "Hey! What's your reply."

"I'll discuss the details with you later."

Rike leaned back and smiled, spreading his arms wide open. "That's a good boy."

"So, am I good to go, boss?"

Chen smiled.

His smile meant that he was holding his urge to kill the boss.

Chen was never a soft person in his previous life, and neither he would be in the current one.

The Agni Kai's were going to become his EXP bags.

After Rike permitted him to leave, Chen stood up. He didn't bow or anything. He gave his back and walked outside of the door.

'Now I know where they live, I'll come back to them.'

Chen went to his home. He cracked his fists. Opening his system, he checked. He has 5000 accumulated exp and his lightningbending was 3000 exp away from reaching the 13th level.

He put 3000 points on it.

There is one thing about lighting bending. The stronger the charge he unleashes, the higher the Chi consumption. But he was sure that he was more than enough to take care of the triad.

Chen went to his fridge and grabbed a couple of sleeping pills. He was quite pissed off, so he needed something to help him sleep.

In the gym of the pro-bending arena, the pro-benders were practising. Today was one of the rare days that Hina showed up for training as Mira had grabbed her from her ear.

The girls practised. One win was separating them from entering the tournament. Their teammate was strong, but they couldn't lack behind him. That's why Mira insisted that they had to become better benders.

"Can we stop already," Hina complained. "It's been 2 hours."

"Chen would go for more couple of hours, and sometimes he would ask for more," Mira said, kicking two earth disks at Mira, who rolled on the ground.

"You talk as if we are having sex and you are comparing my performance to Chen's," Hina said, rolling her eyes.

Blushing, Mira yelled. "There is no way I compare someone like you to a cool guy like him!"

"Why are you blushing and yelling? I was just joking. Unless." Hina gave her a board teasing smile.

"Change the topic already, will ya? Anyway, it got late and he didn't come here."

"Now that you mentioned, I remember you calling him training maniac. Weird, he didn't show up."

"Right… this isn't natural. Maybe he'd gotten sick."

"You know where he lives."

"No. He always changes the topic whenever I ask about his place."

"Well, that's weird. Besides he's our teammate and good-looking, what else do we know?"

"I know that he works in the energy station."

"Maybe he'd gotten tired or sick. Wanna go and see if he is good."

"Mmm…" Mira nodded.

Hina smiled and teased. "Skipping a training, not like you."

"If you were the one who got sick, I wouldn't skip my training." Mira walked passed her.

Hina placed her hands on her hips. "Hey! That hurts."

"I know."

"Bitch."

"Suck it."

The two of them then walked to the energy station.

Meanwhile, Chen was in his room. He'd skipped work today so that he can keep his full energy. He had bought some clothes, which he is going to use. He wore silk black clothes and he covered the lower half of his face with a mask.

Now looking like a ninja, it was time to deal with Agni Kai's boss. Chen isn't going to threaten him to get away from him. That's not guaranteed. What's guaranteed is destroying the whole Agni Kai.

"Anyone who stands in my way to freedom and threatens me, I'm going to crush them," Chen muttered. Although he looked calm, he was boiling inside. He wanted to scream. But he didn't. That anger would be ventured on the triad.

And also, he will take their money, their whole illegal earnings.

It was midnight. Chen was standing on the top of 4 stories building. He stared at the cars that were coming. Today there were no illegal matches to watch, and there were few pro-bending matches. The members of the Agni Kai love to watch those things and gamble. Now that the arena's matches are over, they were going back to their headquarters.

Seeing that the car movement stopped and that their members are getting in, Chen covered his head with a hoodie.

He considered jumping off the building and using firebending to slow his movement.

But he'd no desire to be stylish.

He simply took the stairs down, before walking to the Agni Kai place.

There were two guys at the entrance, and they noticed that he was approaching.

"Hey! Who are—"

Before they could complete their words, Chen pointed his fingers at him.

Chen cracked his neck and walked passed them. Just to make sure that they would never get up, he aimed a finger at the fallen guard, and he shot another two charges. This time, he made sure that the negative energy he unleashed was pure enough. This way, the lightning would get stronger.

Once he smelled the burning smell, he got in.
