Chapter 50: The strongest servant!
"I'll play two cards face down." Two additional cards appeared on the table in front of Seto. "The round is over. Let's see if I can turn the tables!"
At the end of the round, the special ability of Elemental Hero Earthman was invalidated, and its attack power returned to its original state.

After Yuyu drew a card, he examined the two cards on Seto's field carefully.
Considering Seto was a duelist who would never get caught in a fusion bluff, Yuyu ruled out the possibility of him bluffing with a fusion magic card in the back row. In previous official competitions of Linking the World, there had been instances where contestants covered a "fusion" magic card in the back row to deceive their opponents, successfully scaring them. This tactic earned such a duelist the title of "Backcourt Fusion Master" and became quite popular.
However, knowing it was Seto, he probably wouldn't resort to such tricks.
Yuyu didn't have any cards in hand to play at the moment. The two monsters in his hand had already been used to summon Elemental Hero Earthman, leaving him with no way to clear the back row using magic or trap cards.
The only option seemed to be to attack directly, even though he knew the back row likely contained traps. Avoiding the pit would only prolong the inevitable, so he had to find a way to deal with it sooner or later.
"Lord of the Earth!" Yuyu declared, "Direct attack!"
The powerful Elemental Hero charged forward, crossing the field towards Seto and delivering a massive metal fist blow.
"Hmph, just as expected!" Seto waved his hand, "Trap card activated - Counter Gate! Nullify the opponent's direct attack and let me draw a card from the deck!"
The massive black fist collided with the transparent barrier like water ripples, and the attack was absorbed by the barrier.
Earthman retreated to Yuyu's side of the field, and Seto drew a card.
"The round is over."
"It's my turn!" Seto glanced at the card he drew and placed it on the duel plate. "Activate 'Pot of Desire', allowing me to draw two more cards from the deck!"
Had Yuyu been the player he was at the beginning, he might have been frustrated, but his emotions had changed. He remained calm and composed.
After all, his own deck was full of three copies each of powerful cards like 'Pot of Desire' and 'Angel's Charity', and seeing them in his hand was satisfying.
"From my hand, I activate the effect of Thunder Dragon!" Seto revealed a "Thunder Dragon" card to Yuyu and discarded it to the graveyard. "By discarding this card, I can add up to two 'Bronze Dragons' from my deck to my hand. I add two Bronze Dragons to my hand!"
Next, I activate the spell card 'Ancient Rules'!"
Seto placed the card, and a primitive yellowed scroll appeared in front of him.
"This spell card allows me to Special Summon a normal monster with five stars or more from my hand without tributes. I want to summon this guy... 'Serpent Night Dragon'!"
The sleek black dragon emerged from the ancient scroll, stretching its massive body. With its scarlet eyes, pointed mouth, and short wings, it resembled more of a giant python than a dragon.

"It's not over yet!" Seto pointed to his feet, "I'll activate the spell card -, Fusion!"
So the president really had a fusion strategy in place.
"The two 'Thunder Dragons' in my hand are now fused!" Seto raised his right hand, "Come forth, Fusion Summon - 'Two-headed Thunder Dragon'!"
The images of the two dragons merged in a fusion vortex, and a fierce thunderbolt struck the field. The red double-headed dragon landed gracefully from the lightning, both heads roaring to the sky.

Onlookers couldn't contain their excitement.
"A monster with 2350 and 2800 Attack Points summoned in a single turn!?"
"This is truly the duel of top duelists!"
Seto grew more enthusiastic. "Hahahaha! Watch closely, this is true power! Serpent Night Dragon, attack the Earthman!"
The heroic Earthman did his best to resist, launching powerful punches, but the nimble dragon evaded with ease. It struck back during flight, piercing through Earthman's dark iron armor with its sharp teeth.
Soon, Earthman was defeated and disappeared from the field.

The field now stood empty on Yuyu's side, while Seto had two powerful superior monsters on his side. Despite the situation, Yuyu remained composed and even smiled at Seto.
"What's wrong?" Seto frowned, "What are you trying to say?"
"I'm saying that if your Two-headed Thunder Dragon could attack this turn, my LP would be reduced to 1050, and the gap between our LPs could be reversed," Yuyu shrugged, "But I understand that Fusion Summoning comes with the restriction of 'cannot attack during the turn it was summoned.'"
Seto snorted dismissively and announced, "The round is over."
"It's my turn. I'll draw a card."
"I activate 'Angel's Charity', drawing three cards from my deck, then discarding two of them."
What? Another banned card?
That's right.
Yuyu smiled and said to Seto, "Fusion Summoning can indeed bring out high-level monsters without tributes, but it comes with the drawback of 'cannot attack during the turn it was summoned,' right, President?"
"But in exchange, Fusion Summoning requires multiple cards in one turn. If you can't attack immediately, you'll be left in a passive state," Yuyu explained, drawing a card from his hand, "Because there are more ways to summon high-level monsters immediately using tribute summons."
As he spoke, a monster card bounced back from Yuyu's graveyard.
"Activate the effect of 'Elemental Hero: Necroshade' in the Graveyard. This card can only be used once from the Graveyard and allows me to summon Elemental Heroes of level 5 or higher without tributes."
"So I don't need tributes to summon directly from my hand - 'Elemental Hero·Bladedge'!"

"The effect of 'Angel's Charity' let me discard 'Necroshade' into the graveyard to summon high-level monsters quickly," Haima sneered,
"It's a beautiful tactic, but the attack power is not enough to defeat my 'Two-headed Thunder Dragon.'"
"It's not over yet. I'll play a magic card from my hand, 'H-Heated Heart', to increase Elemental Hero Bladedge's attack power by 500 points until the end of the turn."

"Bladedge, attack the Two-headed Thunder Dragon!"
The heroic Golden Man charged forward, leaving behind a golden trail of flame. Its sharp metal blade cut through the massive body of the Thunder Dragon, sending a surge of electricity outwards as the dragon exploded in a display of fireworks.

"My turn is over," Yuyu said, "At this moment, the effect of 'Fire Heart' expires, and Elemental Hero Bladedge's attack power returns to its original state."

Onlookers were astonished. "This is an intense duel!"
"They can easily summon high-level monsters and swiftly defeat each other's summoned monsters."
It was hard for the spectators to believe that they were watching a card game.
"My turn." Seto drew a card, and as he examined it, his eyes narrowed. "It looks like this guy wants to fight you too."
Yuyu asked curiously, "Who?"
Seto grinned.
"Prepare to witness my legendary super rare card, my most powerful servant..."
Yuyu expression turned serious.
Is he going to summon it?
"Activating a magic card from my hand - By discarding a card from my hand, I can lower the level of a monster in my hand by two levels." Seto drew a card and lifted it above his head with excitement.
"I offer the 'Serpent Night Dragon' on the field as a tribute... Come forth, my most powerful servant - Blue-Eyes White Dragon!"
