36 Chapter 36
In the dojo of the Kyoshi Warriors, Haru was continuing his training.
While he was exchanging punches with Yu, Haru was thinking about his meeting with Kyoshi.
Although that bombshell was quite annoying with that talk about leaving things to fate, Haru had something to gain from her, and it was how to bend lava.
'Can't believe she teased me about my dance moves…'
Yu flipped in the air and kicked toward Haru, who lowered his head and dodged without even the need to think.

During the last days, Haru was absorbing the fighting techniques like a sponge. His agility also increased as he was jumping and practising their techniques. Suki even had taken him to climb the mountain by jumping.
It increased Haru's agility to 15.
Ignoring how every eye was on him, Haru dodged every agile attack.
"Can you believe it? He has been here for a few days, and he is at this level."
"How long did it take you to learn this."
"3 years, but I wasn't that serious."
"All of us weren't serious."
The smell of lies filled the air, and Haru wasn't even sniffing it.
The quest he got, and the time limit, had served as a motivation to Haru. He now, on his own, could increase the level of his martial art. With this, in battle, if Haru was cornered in a situation where he can't use his bending powers, such as being in a wooden ship, Haru can always fight.
Yu, frustrated that she couldn't land a punch at him, opened her arms and threw herself at him. Haru extended his hands at blinding speed and hugged her.
Her voice full of fear, she said.
"You win, I give up."
"Why?" Haru asked as he looked at her green eyes.
"I don't want my ribs to be broken."
"You think I would do that?" Haru pretended to be disappointed and let her on her feet.
"No, I didn't mean so." Yu smiled.
"Haru."
Hearing Suki calling him, Haru turned and saw her holding a katana.
He went to her, and she extended the sword to him. Feeling excited that it was finally going to happen, Haru's eyes lit up as he was about to unsheathe it.
"We are going to train for today in sword arts. You should know the basics."
Suki went behind Haru and she adjusted his stance. Enjoying her touch, Haru let her guide him, and he thanked her for her efforts. Suki smiled and pretended to not notice that her breasts were crushing on her chest.
Having stayed here for a few days, he and Suki became very friendly with each other and she acted comfortable around him. She was different from the strict girl who had ambushed him when he had come to this place.
"Alright, wave it like this."
"I get it." Haru waved his sword, and he got the skill.

"You keep practising yourself."
"Yeah, I will do that for later," Haru said as he sheathed the sword.
"Wait, are you okay?" Suki asked him, seeming to be concerned that something may be wrong with him. Haru always loved training, and he would stay for a full day to practise. He had never made an excuse to leave the training, so it was logical for Suki to be concerned about his health. "It's okay if you need a break, after all, rest is as important as training."
"I know, and I'm not tired," Haru said. "My physical power is beyond the human level so I don't need a long break." Haru made excuse. The truth is, he only needs water to recover. "The reason I'm leaving training today is that I have something to settle."
"You are new in this village. You can't have something to settle."
"No, I have to fight." Haru said, "Unagi."
Seeming to understand him, Suki took it as sarcasm and replied. "Sure, I'm certain that you can fight Unagi."
"Yeah." Haru nodded. He then turned to everyone and said. "Thanks for today, but I'm leaving."
"But it's still early."

Haru opened his quest bar and looked at the quest he gained.
[Quest: Unagi Fight.
The previous avatar's soul asked you to fight the sea monster around her island. Defeat it and resort peace to the water.
Objective: Defeat Unagi.

Having already accepted, Haru hadn't gone to solve the quest. Instead, he trained his earthbending skills and metalbending.
Standing now in front of the beach, Haru approached the sea. 60 meters… 30 meters…10 meters… 5 meters standing away from the water.
A soul materialised from the thin air. Kyoshi was observing. Knowing that Haru was listening to her, she said. "You know, you can just back off. Seeing how the girls are treating you, you don't look like a bad person."

Kyoshi rolled her eyes and said. "Since you said your ambition. And since you wanted to get my things."
By her things, she meant her boobs. Haru stole a glance at them, before looking in the sea's direction. "You have a good point."
Currently, Haru was wearing metal armour. It weighed around 250 kilograms. And it was very small for its size. As he had used compress, Haru saved a large amount of metal into a fitting armour.
Having inhuman strength allowed Haru to move freely while wearing this.
Opening his hand, a piece of metal decompressed from his armour, forming a double-blade sword, which spans in the air.
Flicking his finger, a 1-meter-in diameter meteor ascends in the sky before falling and exploding on the water.
Kyoshi expressed amazement on her face when she noticed that technique.
Haru was focusing on the sea. The meteor was a sign that he uses to provoke Unagi every night to get out.
Currently, it was at level 10.
The water surface rose, and from it, emerged a 30-meter-long Unagi, staring down at Haru with its magnificent size.
"You can give up, you don't have to do this," Kyoshi warned Haru.
Smirking at the challenge, Haru said. "Too late."
A notification rang in his ear.

"Hey, Unagi. You got really thin." Haru said as he walked around the beach, smirking at the beast. "Did my meteors make the fishes run from here? Also, you look sleepy."
Unagi roared, opened its mouth, and shot a compressed stream of water at Haru.
Haru lifted his hand, and a wall formed in front of him, withstanding the water's pressure. Once the water stream was over, Haru lowered his hand and the wall vanished.
"You poor thing, how can you handle yourself. Your mouth really stinks." Haru sniffed himself, and he decided to provoke Unagi.
"Ghwaaa!" the Unagi roared as it lifted its head and yelled.
The spinning double-blade next to Haru headed at Unagi. Using his power, he increased the heat of the blades, making them glow up in red colour. Unagi lowered its head to the small blade, and since it was not its first time with hot things, it knew better than to dodge.
Unagi had a moustache, and it was cut at that moment, blood gashing out of it. When it realised that, Haru moved his hand, and the spinning sword cut along its thick skin. The skin was really thick that no blood gashed out. Noticing the eyes, Haru waved his hands, and the blade sank deeply into its eye. Haru tried to push further to reach the brain, but he couldn't as Unagi flipped backwards and entered the water.
"It's not over, don't let your guard down."
"I know," Haru said. Currently, he was standing barefoot, and he could see further through the earthbending. The water was connected to the earth of the island, and Unagi was connected to the water, and thus, Haru could sense its movements. Currently, Unagi was heading toward him at a swift speed.
'I can't let it escape, so I have to keep its remaining eye functioning.'
Unagi's large head appeared in front of Haru, opening its large mouth. In comparison, Haru's size was as long as Unagi's fang. Bending the ground, it rose and pushed Haru flying up to the sky. Unagi's teeth grabbed the 4 meters piece of earth and ate it.
Haru, who was in the air and was about to summon the Earth Board, found this chance. Although his lavabending sucks, he could create it. Aiming his hands at Unagi's mouth, he channelled his Chi.
The large Unagi stared at the sky and shifted its direction, opening its large mouth to devour Haru. Seeing the earth inside its mouth and knowing that it was going to swallow it, Haru smiled at his chance.

This skill was level 7 now. The earth inside Unagi's mouth started glowing, turning into a very hot liquid. The water in the creature's mouth turned into steam. Opening its eye widely, Unagi screamed in pain and moved its head left and right. The lava flowed inside through its throat. Looking to drink water, Unagi turned in the water's direction.
Haru opened his eyes widely. The large tail of Unagi headed at him with amazing swiftness. Knowing how heavy that tail is, Haru's armour created a sphere around him. Unagi's tail slapped the iron sphere into the cliff, creating a huge crack. It then headed to the water, drinking.
The sphere shifted its shape, creating armour around Haru.
Haru looked to be damaged a bit.
[-200 health]
The shockwave of the impact created this damage. Although he was protected by iron, getting hit by a tail that weighs several tons wasn't to take easily. Turning to the left, Haru spat saliva mixed with blood, and smirked.
"Let's make heavy collisions then." While Unagi was busy drinking water as if his life depended on it, Haru made his move.
Extending his hand in the cliff direction, Haru summoned an earth board. He flew in Unagi as a large piece of the cliff was separate, 8 meters in length, and flew after Haru.
Clenching his fist, the large boulder started shrinking until it became one meter in size. Although it looked small now, it weighed several tons.
Kyoshi, who was standing by the side, said. "To use this boulder effectively, shoot its pieces at him. This way, you can use it more effectively."
Haru knew that what she was saying is right. If he used small parts, they will move faster while keeping a relatively high mass. With the boulder next to him, Haru started jabbing. Many small pieces of rocks flew out of the boulder and headed at Unagi.
Each small rock made a large impact, creating a shockwave that pushed the water. Unagi turned its eye, and it seemed to be unable to see the attacks. It was forced to dodge.
Seeing that Unagi was trying to escape, Haru followed it with his Earth Board and the boulder.
Unagi sank into the water, and when Haru stopped, he noticed the large mouth coming from below. Haru pushed his hands up, using the Earth Border as standing and shot himself high to the sky, 20 meters high. The angry Unagi was still after him, ready to devour him as it already devoured the boulders.

Haru aimed his fist at Unagi's mouth and opened it. The boulder decompressed, becoming bigger than it was already, blocking Unagi's throat. The beast opened its eyes widely and shook its body. Haru decided not to leave this chance, and he extended both of his hands down, turning the rocks into lava.
A larger amount of lava this time headed town, and Unagi was unable to stop it, and it took very high damage to its internal organs.
"Goodbye," Haru said. Metalbending his armour, Haru extended his fists in the beach's direction. The armour moved in that direction, and Haru's body followed. When he was about to hit the sand, Haru raised his hands, and the sand rose. Separating from the armour before it was too later, Haru's body hit the sand.
"That was nice." He said. "So what do you think." Haru turned to Kyoshi as Unagi howled for the last time before falling dead.
"Impressive for someone who isn't the avatar." She said with a bland tone.
"At least give me some credit." Haru lay down.
"So like you told Suki, you are in touch with your inner child." Kyoshi teased. "Fine, I'll praise you, child. You did a good job."
Frowning, and feeling that his privacy had been broken by that spirit, Haru let a sigh. "Give me a break." He let his head on the ground.
When Haru closed his eyes, he heard a giggle. He opened one eye and gave her a glance. She was holding her emotions from appearing on her face.
"Is the big boy upset?" She said.
"Yeah, tease my inner child. I don't care by this point." He said as he closed his eyes.
"Sure, take a break. Defeating a large sea monster like that is an incredible feat." She nodded. "I'll be waiting for you here."

Haru closed his eyes and saw the notification. The subclass is available. He decided to see that later after he learns about Kyoshi's experiences in lava bending.
