Among the human population, there are people with special powers that allow them to fight monsters and they were called players. This was made possible though a gaming system where they could level up their stats, gain equipment and earn money. Valerie Feng was an ordinary player and killed monsters to support her family. But when the system glitches during a solo mission, she finds out that there is more to ‘game’ than she thought.
