35 Chapter 4

Sketches of sunrays slowly festered into the room, touching everything they could and settling atop anything in their line of sight. Some caught his face and prompted him to roll and toss intermittently until he could no longer shy away from the persistent sun rays. By his knowledge, he had only managed to sleep for a few hours and he presumed it had not gone past four hours since he laid his head to rest.

He rolled on his side, left his eyes closed still and counted his breath as the urge to get up felt impossible to give into. Stench from alcohol subtly made their way past his mouth and into the air until his nostrils felt stung by them. It brought a thin smile to his face but caused him discomfort so he flipped around some more.

The need to sleep was a craving he couldn't quite shake off and the harder he tried, the more difficult it felt.
